Long Term Trying To Conceive Vent Thread

Madtown some ppl are just really insensitive! I'm sorry for your loss. :(

I've been ttc since 2010 and infertility has made me hate myself and the people around me. DH wants to act a fool and for some reason when we do fight..my mind wonder if I was able to give him the son he wants, would the reasons we fight even exist? It's stupid and immature but there. Ttc has consumed most of my life. just angry and needed to vent :-#

I hear ya. Occasionally my DH and I get upset at one another and have a little tiff/argument and usually it's around my sadness at not being able to get pregnant. We never fought EVER before this journey and it makes me frustrated that we fight now. I just want to be pregnant and happy. ARGH!

So...time for me to be a little cynical. Everyone on FB is doing that whole 30 days of thankfulness thing for November. It's nice to remember what our blessings are, yes. But, I keep seeing the "I'm so thankful for my baby/I'm pregnant/etc, etc" crap, and I just want to respond, "I'm thankful I haven't punched you in the face."

LOL!!!!

What the actual hell????

One of my in-laws just announced she is pregnant on FB. Are you bleeping serious? That side of his family does not know about my m/c or infertility, so I know this isn't the same bs that my neighbor pulled. Seriously. I just want to bawl my eyes out.

...and I told DH about it, and he blew up at me, told me I need to get over it, etc, etc. Wonderful.

DH and I were shopping the other day (which I try to avoid doing so as not to see all the preggo women) and a 8-9 months along pregnant woman came down the aisle, talking loud and all I could do was stare longingly and feel that little twinge of sadness in my heart. All of a sudden I hear DH "stop staring at the pregnant lady". Oh, my bad. UGH.

I just heard that my DH's cousin is pregnant, she's just turned 40.

She's a lovely lady, I'm really happy for her but the flip side of that is a deep sadness. Why can't it be me?

I guess 3 years makes all the difference.

PS - Her announcement was on FB too.

I am bawling too! :sad2: This just sucks doesn't it?

It does suck! The bitter side of me wants to keep a list of people who announce on FB, and make sure that I return the favor and tell everyone EXCEPT them in person.

For what it is worth, Hope, I don't think 3 years makes that much of a difference. I've actually read a lot of conflicting information on when/how much your fertility declines as you get older. It's definitely not as rare as people would have you believe - women in their 40's can, and frequently do, get pregnant, and I believe that you will, and soon.

Why do some people get to have three kids and I don't even get one?

Saw the above comments and wanted to say my mum had me at 39 and my bro at 42. But that sort of comment doesn't help too much, I personally hate it when people say to me things like 'I had a friend who tried for 5 years, and when she stopped trying, then she got pregnant!' Well whoop de do for her.

2 whinges today.

1, my body not only hates me, but hates clomid too. My nipples hurt so much I almost cried yesterday. Is that a thing, that nipples, not breasts, hurt so much just after ovulation? Unbelievable!

2, a friend just cancelled a night booked for three months so she could attend a baby shower. Ffs. I personally hate the idea of baby showers anyway, but to be cancelled on for one? Not best pleased.

Why do some people get to have three kids and I don't even get one?

I've wondered that often lately CareBear. We've been ttc #1 for going on 4 years now and pretty much all of my female friends (I wish I was exaggerating) are pregnant or have just recently had children. I get so angry that there are so many people that have so many children and we can't manage one. A lady at church is pregnant with twins...her 4th and 5th child. I went home and cried a lot.I don't even know what to do anymore. We've been referred to a fertility clinic but due to where we live it's a huge cost and time sink because we'd have to travel so far to get to the closest one.

I know exactly how you feel. I live in Alaska and would have to travel to Seattle for IVF. I would have to be there for almost 1 full month from all the testing, scanning, implantation, preggo test, etc. DH can't be off that long and a hotel that long is super costly. I haven't been trying near as long as you, but I do understand the feeling of being tired of it all.

You know, I've been thinking about this a lot lately - why don't more insurances (in the US, specifically) cover a bigger portion of infertility treatment? I understand why it is costly, but it's not like we're choosing to be infertile. I'm sure they see it as "unnecessary," because of the adoption option, but that in itself is another can of worms, and I don't see insurance companies offering coverage for adoption fees either!

I think it's crap, and another example of how the world seems to not care about infertility.

I too feel the same...why can't I get just one?
I hate people placing themselves in same boat as mine while trying for number 3/4.
Man I am childless..!!I am not the same.

Nice to know I'm not the only one who feels this way, been ttcing for 6 years and because my hospital is crap for about 4 of those years I had high prolactin levels and they didn't even pick up on it. Have been on medication for two years and things have settled down this year and I appear to be ovulated but not bfp yet. Just gets depressing when people who are the same age as me or younger have 2 or 3 children and I'm still waiting.
