Missing Malaysia Plane :-(

Interesting debate:coffee:

In my opinion ''authorities'' know very well where the plane is, and I am sure they know it might have something to do with terrorism.
Can you imagine they told the public that plane got kidnaped? it would cause huge scare for people, and people wouldn't fly anywhere.....economy and $$$!!!!
Also, they don't wanna give terrorists too much power. What they are doing is very well known process where they don't show fear, don't provoke and try not to act like they are overprotecting themselves.

And for second: Military planes have temperature/heat radar that can detect any warmth far under the water....flying distance of 4 hours is nothing for military airplanes to fly over and see if there are any heat patches in the waters, which plane would definitely show. They also have under water metal detectors that are often used ....I wonder why don't they put both to work....

The cell phone situation is a mystery!!!! if the phone rings, it can be traced....I don't believe that every single person there had ''smart phone''with GPS turned off....impossible....and for the record. If you turn GPS OFF on your phone, it is still traceable by phone company and authorities. It only turns off your location for Apps and pics...etc....

To be fair, it took years to locate most of the Air France plane and there was nothing going on there. It was just in incredibly deep water.

I still do believe that there's something fishy going on here, but I don't necessarily think anyone knows exactly where the plane is.

Especially if the route is still questionable. Flying 4 hours over one flight path is easy; flying 4 hours over multiple flight paths in all directions with possible deviations would be much, much harder.

So much (dis) information is being handed out. Perhaps this is to lead possible terrorists into a false sense if security thinking the government haven't a clue, whilst they close in on them? They aren't going to tell the public everything-maybe not ever :-(
Weren't the 20 IBM staff on board specialists in electronic warfare too? Wouldn't be surprised if they were part of the reason they chose this plane in particular if so.

I'm taking every news article with a pinch of salt at the moment. I just feel awful for the families.

I always wonder why people think its wrong that they are not telling us the truth. Surely if something like a hijack has happened then they will be dealing with it without the media etc to f*ck things up .... You also can't have mass panic .

I agree...say they are closing in on any supposed terrorists, they are hardly going to be dumb enough to tell the media and inadvertently warn them.
It's not much comfort to the poor families though I guess

I still personally don't think it was terrorists as I find it strange that no one has claimed the situation or made demands. If this is terrorism the fact that they've managed to not only keep the plane out of sight but also the 200 and something (I think?) passengers onboard quiet and hidden really concerns me...... I really hope they're all alive and well but it just looks less and less likely :nope:

The more the twists keep coming the more likely the end is sinister, my bet is it has been accidently shot down in military testing activity, or the pilot was unstable and caused it to crash elsewhere.

I agree I don't think plane is just sitting there. How the hell do you hide a plane

The more I hear the more likely it's the pilot or even someone on board and the plane is sitting at the bottom of the sea :(

And now I've read possible pirates

I just can't imagine how the families are coping not knowing

I feel bad for families but I cant even think what people on the plane were going thru. Can you imagine they were all well and alive when the plane crashed in the water? And died on the closed plane because of lack of air? Panic? Chaos???
My heart breaks just thinking about it....

This is where I hope that Harvard or MIT grad's theory is right, that decompression happened (with most people sleeping as it was past 1am) and fell unconscious and didn't know they were dying. :nope:

I just read online The BBC had an expert a few days ago that shared his view, and i think he will turn out to be the most accurate. He thought the plane had major faults causing the pilots to turn the plane around, however, upon doing so the plane de-pressurised causing oxygen levels to plummet and since the plane wasn't working properly, oxygen masks will not have fallen nor will anyone have noticed, instead, everyone would have passed out into unconsciousness within a minute and died within 15 minutes. The plane will have already gone into auto-pilot and there'd be enough fuel for 5 hours or so after which it would have run out and gone down and crashed into the Indian Ocean. That's literally what this expert said a few days ago, and today it seems other experts are saying the plane did ping signals for another 5 hours or so and the US is moving to search the Indian Ocean. These outrageous stories are to try to get website hits and newspaper sales, the truth is far easier to understand & depressing.

:( If they haven't survived I hope that last view is correct, atleast they wouldn't have suffered and been frightened.

I would like to agree with this but the fact all means of tracking the plane were turned off.

Maybe the tracking box was also faulty?
This theory scares me as you'd think they would do checks before flying incase the plane has faults x

There were two separate communication functions that were lost 14 minutes apart. That's a heck of a lot of stuff to go wrong with a plane. Not impossible, I guess, but that would be some really unfortunate luck.

Hopefully. I hope we find out and it's not going to be left as a complete mystery :(
