My hv has been asking us if we want Kian to have his MMR vaccine and I really don't know whether to let him have it or not. OH said he is not bothered its up to me so not much discussion about it. So thought next best stop is you lovely girls :).

Have you let your LO having it (mainly aimed at mummy of boys)? If not, why?
Thanks :flower:

My LO is now 13 months, and i have chosen to get his MMR jabs done seperatley at a private clinic. Its £50 booking fee & £95 per injection but i would rather that, than his body to be bombarded with all 3 all in one go. Seems wierd they do the 8 10 and 12 week injections seperatley but not these ones? :-S I know everyone else has different opinions but thats what ive chosen to do. :flow:

NOPE my next wont have it

my son (now 11) was vaccine damaged by his MMR (not autistic) so i wont allow it, i will do the singles but not the MMR

did you know they are adding the chickenpox vaccine to it?? IMO its too much all at once

but only you can decide
x

What is it?
measles, mumps, and rubella

I wanted to get the seperate as the gp said we could but would have to pay and unsure if we could afford it :(

Each injection they have, it has at least 6-8 different things in. Like Kians last one was his 5 in 1, Meningitis C and Pneumococcal (sp?) meningitis.

I don't know what to do as my mum and stepmum both believe it has a link to autism but I have also heard there is only a link because the injection is giving around the time that Austism starts to show itself in a child

^^ Theres loads of debate about it..but did u ever see where Tony Blair refused to talk to the public about his son Leo, about thier decision whether to have it or not?

when do they get this injection ?? he had all the ones at 8weeks 12 weeks and 16weeks

No I don't think I have ever heard it :/.
I have heard that if it's giving before 15 months or something it is less effective :S. I really don't know what to believe :(

I have delayed LO's MMR until after 15 months. It is apparently more effective then and I also thought it was too many vaccines all in one go with the other jab at 12 months.

Really? My LO still hasnt had any of his becuase of antibiotics. Its all so confusing, some people thing im mad for getting them done seperatley but its down to the parents decision for thier child. I dont have anything against a child having the triple, but after seeing my sister grow up with asperges (a form of austism) i cannot risk that for riley so thats why i have chosen it:flower::flower::flower:

What jab do they have at 12 months? :flower:

That's what I have read, but obviously don't know what to believe as I read it on the internet lol

Yeah I read it somewhere on the internet :/. I know it's up to the parents just don't get much input by my OH. Apparently in the study it only affected little boys. I have been vaccinated against MMR but my brothers haven't been

Meningitis C, third dose
Hib, fourth dose (Hib/MenC given as a single jab)
Pneumococcal infection, third dose

They wanted to give LO her MMR on top of all that

With the whole thing about waiting until after 15 months I think it is basically they already have immunity from you which runs out at about 15 months so I think before then their on immune system can kind of fight off the vaccine. Does that make sense?

Personally these are the only injections I want Kian to defo have these ones as I had menigitis when I was younger but it is a lot for a little body to cope with having all these in short period of time :(
