Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

Amy - I think Alex and Daisy would be a match made in heaven, they could squeeze each others heads all day
I'm sure nursery will get easier once he settles in, and if I were you I'd mention that he won't stay in a Bumbo and is likely to injure himself if they do it! It's a difficult age really isn't it, they need so much attention and can cause so much havoc! I hope the next session is easier :hugs:
Sarah - I'm glad you're feeling better  I'm sorry to hear about the wedding show but it sounds like you made the best decision :hugs:

Morning everyone!

Gosh I feel sooooo much better today! Its so nice to get some energy back! Oliver is great too, we both have a cough but thats about it :)

Right, let me try to have a quick catch up!!

H&F I hope the hair dresser showed up and was good! Yum for cupcake tasting!!! Whats your cake going to be like? Are you going for a cupcake tower? YUM!!!!!! Well done re the weight loss!!

Katie Enjoy Musical Minis!!

L-C bless you both, I'm sure these bumps are worse for us mums than for the babies! Oliver is crawling all over now and trying to pull himself up on everything so I've been trying to babyproof everything. I think Steve's putting the stair gates up later.

Hi Nell!!! Oohhhh You're from Leeds so not far from me!!!

FruFru how are you feeling? I hope you're not coming down with anything!! Id say if you can find a cheap Jumperoo then go for it - Oliver still loves his and it is nice to be able to pop him in there and no he's not up to mischief if I want to make a cuppa! I would also be annoyed at your friend. I have found that my list of friends has really changed so much since having Oliver. For example, I have a friend who has a lo who is almost 2, she lives about a 45 min drive from here. When she was pregnant I went over to see her all the time, when she had her baby it was the same - I would make a picnic and go and pick her and the baby up and take them out so it was easy for her. When she had no money I would take her out for lunch. When I was pregnant I still went over quite a bit, but when Oliver arrived it wasn't so easy and I thought she might come to see me but she hasnt. She's seen Oliver once and thats when I took him over there :( She's a lovely friend and I know she's busy. but even a message to see how we are or see if we could meet in the middle for coffee or something would be nice :(

Maybe Good luck re the mould - it sounds like everyone is giving you the run around - I hate that!!! Just stick to your guns and keep on at them, if you annoy them enough they will do something to get rid of it! Do you know whats causing it?

Emera the cook book sounds amazing!! You know you could set up a blog pretty easily (and cheaply) too? You can make money through affiliate links (like they do on here) so it might be a little earner too! Let me know if you would like more info and I'll talk you through setting it up. You don't really need any technical knowledge. You could post things on when you think of them then and we could all follow your blog and try them - yum!!

Amy When I worked as a wedding coordinatior I used to take all the dietary requirements for the guests and you wouldn't believe how some people eat. Keeping in mind it was a five star hotel too so I think a lot of people were too embarassed to say. I had a groom who HAD to have Heinz Tomato Sauce with EVERYTHING, and an adult man who only ate pizza and chips and only drank coke!

I'm sure I've missed sooo much - sorry everyone!!!

I have so much to do today . . . Oliver is just napping so I'm going to catch up on some emails while I get chance!

xx

We are still waiting for the hairdresser ... she was due at 11 and hasnt bothered to contact me.

Sarah - the cupcakes are going to be some banoffee and some vanilla sponge with choclate icing with a giant banoffee cupcake on top as the cutting cake.

I will read and catch up with everyone later as Amy is sat on my lap grizzling and trying to play with the buttons.

Thanks everyone.
It was a shock to us all that he was born on our anniversary as I started pushing at 10.00pm on the 25th and the midwife was conviced that he would be born before midnight. But sure enough he had to hang on in there till after midnight lol.

H&F oh no!!! Sounds like she might be a no-go for the wedding then :( The cup cakes sound LUSH!!!!!!!!

Nel awww thats so cute!!

I just ordered Steve's valentines pressie :)

H&F, those cupcakes sound fab! I want banoffee now :(

Sarah, I'm glad you're better! it's horrible being sick and having a baby to look after isn't it!
What did you get him?!

I'm soo hungry, I want ice cream, or banoffee cake now  I'm having a lazy day today, I've done all my housework so now I'm sat watching Skins while Daisy is asleep :)

:gun::gun::brat::brat: agh! i'm having a bad day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you're okay Maybe!!!!

Just going to get Oliver bathed and to bed but I'll be back on soon!! Just wanted to pop on with some :hugs: for Maybe :flower:

xx

Aww maybe hope everything is ok.

We are having wedding dress drama here ... just takken my current measurement which work out at 3 wedding dress sizes smaller than the one I have ordered. The shop may be able to change the order if it hasnt started being made yet but if it has been started we have a problem as i still have 2 stonr to lose so it will be far too big.

Hope everyone is ok. x

Hi :hi:

Maybe - Hope everything is ok? :hugs:

Nel hi! :hi:

Sarah - Glad you and Oliver are feeling better  The blog idea does sound tempting, i'll look into it i think. Sure i could get my head round setting it up, my SIL does one. Which reminds me i meant to link it in here before, its quite interesting, and might be useful in a few months time :)
https://thecraftykitty.wordpress.com/

Amy and Katie - Roh is loads like your two then, he LOVES other babies! He charges towards them with a huge grin on his face and then tries to eat them :haha: he always looks really confused when they start crying :haha:

H&F - Did the hairdresser turn up? Slightly bad news if she'll be late on the big day too  Also, i had my wedding dress altered and taken in by over 7 inches around the whole bodice area, i lost about 4 stone between ordering it and my wedding day  Its amazing what a good seamstress can do

Well, we are ok here, life is ticking along, went out for lunch with OH yesterday, which was lovely, we are on a tight budget so we don't treat ourselves often. Work has been busy. Also seems my ear infection has flared up again, neither ear has felt right since it all started, and now the side of my head is throbbing again and making me feel a bit unwell :( Ah well, back to the doctors with me on monday i guess. I took a photo at work and thought i'd share it with you, this is the sort of amounts of things i have to make!

Right, i'm starving, off to heat up some chilli!

:hugs:

Hi Nel

Amy :hugs: I am sure he would get used to it hon :hugs:

Sarah: sorry about the wedding show :(

Emera: that looks so yummy :D

Maybe: sorry you are having a crap day hon :hugs:

Katie: Daisy's facebook pics are just gorgeous :D She is a lovely girl :hugs:

---------------------------------------------------------

Fingers crossed Bobby seems a bit calmer today. I have been putting him on our bed before his naps and he loves it! He rolls around (I watch him carefully of course!) and does this cute swimming move :)

Hope you have been well

Emera you really should start a blog! I love The Crafty Kitty!!!! I want to put Oliver in a paddling pool full of newspaper - it looks fab!!!!!! They have a gorgeous house too . . . so lovely! And all those buns make me want to eat one :haha:

Modo Bobby is such a cutie!

H&F Whats your dress like? Like Emera said a good seamstress really can work miracles. How did things go with the hair dresser?

Maybe I hope you're okay!

Katie I bought Steve a print, I wouldn't normally buy him art as he's the expert around here, but I love this print and I'm sure he'll like it. We've talked about this artist before and both said that we liked his work and it seemed appropriate for Valentines. I wouldn't normally spend so much at all but Steve has really spoilt me recently and I wanted to treat him :) I wanted to get it framed too but Steve is quite fussy about framing so I might let him decide how he wants to do that. This is the print:

Its not everyones cup of tea but Steve collects urban art, so he's into all this modern stuff :haha: He bought this one recently and I thought it was quite a nice match:

EDIT:  I've just realised I put the wrong link on  he didn't buy the one on the page it links to, he bought the 'Love' one which you can see down the side

We had a nice day, its so nice to be feeling better, I just want to get everything done now that I haven't been able to do for the past few days! For a couple of days Oliver has been trying to pull himself up to standing and today he did it! And so he wanted to do it all day :haha: I'm going to look for a play pen tomorrow, or a travel cot at least, because he's into EVERYTHING! :haha:

Right, well I'd better go and get some things done!

xx

Maybe :hugs: hope you are ok lovely.

Emera Yum! Hope your ear infection clears up soon. Keep giggling as Im picturing the image of Roh trying to eat other babies

Sarah  at the pic it links to. Really like the one you bought him. Glad you are feeling better.

Modo fingers crossed for a nice calm night.

Amy I am sure he will be fine in nursery and that he will love being around the other babies.

H&F the cupcakes sounds gorgeous. Hope you find a more reliable hairdresser for the day.

Windmills that's really cute that Daisy loves to play and that you can see her coming on leaps and bounds so quickly. I am sure she will love the music class.

Frufru Oliver loves his exersaucer thingy so I'd say get a Jumperoo if you can get a good deal, Ebay is always a good place to look. The exresaucer is a life saver when I need to do something (like clean the bathroom) as he can be in it in the hall outside the bathroom whilst I do it and he can't escape anywhere! Poor you with a 2 week period. I am making the most of not having had one since having Oliver.

Nel Hi

LC hope Will is ok after his bump. Don't beat yourself up, these babies are so quick that even lightning reflexes can't catch them before thy hurt themselves sometimes. I am sure that's why they have little concrete heads!

Had our last baby group today  as Oliver is too old to go to it now. On a plus they are starting a story and rhyme time session as a follow on group and he can go to that until he starts school :happydance:

nel - you'll have to have the day for your LOs birthday and then do something nice in the evening together for your anniversary

maybe - hope you are OK :hugs: xxxx

emera - wow, a cake bonanza! :haha: Alex never understands why other babies cry when he is overzelous with his affection! :haha: maybe you need different antibiotics for your ear. Hope it doesnt stop you sleeping :hugs:

sarah - Alex wanted to stand all day from the minute he learned he could - its exhausting isnt it :haha: :haha: he climbs up everything, the stairgates, the hoover, the chairs.. and lots of times he bumps into them in the process :dohh: lucky Steve, I hadnt even thought about V day ... not feeling too amorous (sp) towards Kerry

modo - ALex also loves a bit of rolling around time on our bed - he sticks his bottom up and giggles into the mattress :haha: I'm glad Bobby is more his cheerful self :hugs:

muddles - too old! what a shame! is it up to 8 months then? hope the follow on group is as good :hugs:

This morning we went to babyclub and Alex loved it. I wish that he could go there for nursery :haha: there's been a swarm of new babies joining, it feels weird to be the old crowd! All the crawling babies played really nicely together, Alex even got to have a few snuggles without making them cry :haha: One little boy of 9 months was throwing balls - I thought that was something they achieve as toddlers - I was very impressed! I was feeling quite social today and enjoyed chatting with the other mums. I'm glad I'll have Fridays off for the time being so I can still take him there when I'm back at work.

This afternoon I took Lyra when I collected the girls from school and we all went for a walk on the cliffs - OMG it was so freezing!! :cold: I had to give my gloves to the girls and by the time we got back to the car I couldnt work my fingers and the pain from the cold was so bad I was almost in tears! The sun was out and it fooled me! We had cheap and cheerful ASDA chinese for tea. :flower:

Muddles I'm not looking forward to Oliver been too old for baby group :( But then I'm also really not looking forward to my two local mummy friends going back to work in May . . . it just won't be the same!

Sarah - the hairdresser never showed up neither did she contact me so I wll just look for another one! Glad your feeling better!

I have just ordered my wedding cakes! 90 cupcakes and a giant banoffe one for the top!

The dress issue is that the seamstress has said with the dress the maximum she can take it in is 6inches and we have already gone passed that so I have emailed her my measurements to see if she can re-order or anything.

We are also supposed to be going out for a curry tomorrow night but the place Dave's friends have picked hasnt got a high chair so have no idea how we are going to cope with Amy there!

Sorry for the rant!

Amy I think you should buy Kerry the print the second link goes to :haha:

H&F - I cant believe she didnt show up or contact you, thats terrible!!!! !!!!! I hope you sort the dress issue, the cake sounds fab x
Could you get hold of one of those booster seat highchairs you can attach to a chair for Amy? x
