Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

H&F you are ok going near chicken pox as long as you've had it. Will had it just when I concieved, I checked with the mw and she said it was fine as I've had it!

I was two days over with Will, so i'm kind of hoping for a couple of days early but who knows.

Muddles, sounds like Oliver was spoilt and has some lush presents!

H+F the pox is fine in pregancy as long as yu've had it, like LC said :)

Muddles - wow, that's a lot of presents! :) lucky Oliver! :) people are so generous, its lovely isn't it! :)

LC - 18 days wow!! Oh and I'm not dieting specifically. I've done a course on nutrition though, as part of my qualifications for work (ages ago!) So I know how to put together an appropriate eating plan. I'm basically eating exactly what I need, no more, no less. As I'm bf though the weight is just falling off! I'm not sure how I lost so much so fast, its a bit odd really. I'd expected maybe 3kg max the first week. I'm aiming to lose about 2kg per week really, that's about 4.5lb a week. I think my diet is similar to a weight watchers type diet, except I'm not restricting fat as much, especially dairy and nut oils, as they are good for maintaining milk quality. If I'm hungry I have some dried fruit or something. I was really pigging out before, I eat way too much when I'm BF and its all the wrong stuff! I eat with Roh, and snack with him too, and then I have another snack in the evening, so I'm eating 6 times a day.

Oh wow that doesn't sound too bad! I really need to lose it this time, didn't manage after Will. Just done a stretch mark check and they are getting so bad. I'm so gutted and worried that even if I do lose the weight I'll look awful. Think DH has dellusions, I'll be back to when we met, about 3 weeks after having this one - duh!!

:haha: OH was under no illusions once I was at 41 weeks I think he realised my tummy was permanently wrecked! My stretchies were shocking this time! they still look bad, but better than they were! I've more than lost what I gained this pregnancy, but I have the 36kg I gained with Roh to loose still!:haha: its not too bad this diet, for example, tonight I had 3 chipolatas with 1/2 a sweet potato made into "chips" and all baked in a bit of olive oil. Then greens, broccoli and asparagus steamed and then a bit of butter on. Had it with light mayo, very yummy. Now having a decaf coffee with 2 biscuits and 4 cubes of my favourite chocolate :) I have 4 cubes of chocolate every day, if there were no treats I'd never stick to it!

Oh wow that sounds very do able, my problem is stopping at four cubes and not four bars!!

When it comes to chocolate I have to be all or nothing x

:haha: LC that's my problem too! That's why I have over 30kg still to lose!

I think I ma going to go back on weight watchers once this baby is born as I am certainly piling on the weight! But I lost 5 stone after having Amy soo the will power must be in there somewhere! I just cant stop eating at the moment ... I was going to try and watch my weight gain this time but that has certainly gone out the window!

Argh so I am now stuck in the house with a spotty madam! We both go crazy being stuck in the house for one day let alone a week and we cant go to my parents as my niece is coming to stay their tomorrow and she hasnt had chicken pox yet and we cant risk her getting it. Really bad timing!!!

Hope everyone is ok. x x x

Gutting, is there anywhere outside where you're not likely to see anyone, we crept around places like that when Will had it. Virasooth and clinpox were really good!!

L-C -the main problem is the weather! If it was nice and sunny we could go out for a walk and a picnic etc butthe weather is so awful there is no way we are going to get out at the moment! ... How poorly was Will with it and for how long? Amy doesnt seem that ill just spotty and a bit grumpy!

The first few days Will seemed fine, just spotty, then the next three nights were a nightmare, he had temp with it then he seemed to be up all night. Then he kind of bounced back. It was funny because my Mum spoke to the family GP who straight away said ooooh three horrible nights, so I assmued that was the norm. The spots started gradually so I thought he had it mildy but they just kept coming and he has some scarring now. Really hope it's not too bad for Amy xxxxx

Get well soon Amy! H&F I was going to try and be good too this time and am totally failing. I gained four stone with Oliver and lost it all before getting pregnant again, so sure I can do it again too-we can be diet buddies!

Evening!

L-C Longleat is £27.50 for adults . . . . but my mum used her Tesco club card vouchers so it was £8 of vouchers per person! Bargain! Having been though I have to say it would be well worth paying full price, its so good. I think it might have to become a yearly event for us . . . there is a Centre Parks right next door too so I think I'll have a look at that for next time :)

H&F I hope Amy is feeling better soon!

Steve is back at work today, and he's had to go to London. He wasn't happy this morning bless him but I spoke to him earlier and it sounded like he was having a nice enough time. Goodness knows what time he'll be home though as at 10pm they still hadn't set off back!

Oliver and I went to my parents for the day and had a nice time, I took some work with me and got that down while Oliver played with my dad so that was good :) The little monkey didn't go to sleep until 10pm tonight though so its a good job I got my work done before! :haha:

I think we're getting there with Oliver's birthday pressie. When I put it all together there is quite a lot :haha: He has the Little Tikes fire engine for outside, the George Pig scooter, quite a lot of Take & Play Thomas stuff, a few Brio sets and a few other bits and pieces. I would have quite liked to just get one big thing but there was just nothing I could think of.

Right well I think I'm off to bed, lots to do tomorrow.

xx

Hi all -

Sarah - sounds like you had a brill time away! Oliver is very lucky ... I was supposed to be sorting out Amy's presents and general birthday stuff this week but we are stuck in the house so I am hoping to get some free time over the weekend to get it done!

Muddles - I am currently avoiding the scales! I think I have put on around 2 stone so far so I definately will need to lose this weight after the baby arrives.

argh sorry I had replies to everyone but my head is not screwed on properly today. Well we had another awful night last night which ended with me hysterically crying at 2.30 this morning ... I think its a mixture of being over hormonal and completly exhausted. Dave didnt know what to do bless him and I just seem to be an emotional wreck at the moment. Also had a nightmare yesterday as my mum insisted on skypeing us as my sister arrived at theirs yesterday and of course Amy was so excited but really upset afterwards as she cant understand why she cant go and see them all ... fingers crossed we can go over soon!

Hope your all ok x x x

:hugs::hugs: for you H&F really hope Amy gets better soon!! I'd be the same hun xx

Sarah longleat sounds fab and def worth the money x

I have just been to my 38 week apt and babies head is still down but is properly back to back and so in the worst position for a smooth labour . So I now have to spend the next weeks on all fours to try and get it to budge. Oh and it's had a massive growth spurt and is looking big - typical!!!

LC get cleaning those skirting boards! :haha: F was back to back at 40 weeks, really confused the student mw who was trying to find her spine! :haha:

Horrendous night last night too H+F :hugs: to you! F was not happy and didn't sleep all night!! Just feeding and crying :( She seems happier now though finally.

L-C my consultant told me that only 2-3% of back to back babies dont turn the right way in labour so unless this lo is as stubborn as my dd, hopefully you will be ok! xxx

Oh wow mork that sounds promising!! Will is just as stubborn as he was dragged out and the consultant said "oh he was back to back" lol

Mork how are you feeling?

Emera have you had some better nights?

Hmm F is on a funny one these last few days. Unpredictable. Oh well sure she'll settle down! Both kids and I all have colds! :( Bit rubbish. Roh and I just sat and did 2 hours solid of crafts though (painting, glueing, playdough, drawing) which was great as I could just sit there and sort F out and join in with Roh too. :) he gets really into that sort of thing :)

LC - sitting on a birthing ball can help put baby in the right position!

Sarah - sounds like you had a great holiday :)

H&F - hope amy's better!

emera - great weight loss!

muddles - sounds like oliver had good innings with pressies this year :)

mork - how's things?

i've been sooooo busy! this week we had the yr7 confirmations. i've been preparing the choir for ages and then yesterday my worst nightmare happened and they rushed off not looking at me or listening to the backing track  it was awful. i went back to school, dismissed them and burst into tears  the other teachers there assured me that it wasn't really noticeable but it was :( was so upset after working so hard. today thankfully we had the second lot of confirmations and the choir did me proud and sung really well. and to top it off i managed to buy a size 8 dress from oasis to wear for the occasion! :) i've never bought size 8 in my life. makes weight watchers worth it! i'm sure it was on the big size of a size 8 but still!

Owen is coughing and spluttering again :( he seems to go from one cold to another :( erin vomited yesterday and dylan did over the weekend. it's the house of illnesses her! I have another sore throat and dan feels sick all the time and refuses to go to the dr! men! Dylan is having a late night out. it's one of his best friends sister's bday (she'll be 12) and he was invited along to keep his friend company. they've gone to pizza hut and then to the leisure centre bowling/ice skating! he's coming back around 10pm :haha: he's so excited! he'll be bouncing off the walls when he gets in.

Right best go and make a start on dinner as dan will be back in about an hour. love to all you lovely ladies :hugs:

Wow maybe, i honestly don't know how you keep up! You are one busy woman!!! Well done on the size 8 dress!!!!!
Im ok - getting strong braxton hicks nowadays, have my vbac birthing class next week - eeekkk! Makes is all real!!!
Hope you all have a lovely long weekend and that those of you who are poorly and/or have poorly little ones recover enough to enjoy it! xxx
