Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

Mork: Thank you hon:hugs: that's so nice of you :D I hope you have the birth you want hon :hugs: :hugs:

Thank you girls for your advice :hugs: I just had the hv round today and she made me feel like crap about the latch. She said it probably meant lily wasn't getting much milk and this was after I told her that she had already made four poos that day (she actually made another two later on:haha:) so how is she not getting much? I feel bad for first time moms who have to deal with this and take there words as gospel.

Modo I'm so glad you know better than to listen to the rubbish advice from the HV. There are some really good groups on Facebook for moral support / advice if you need it :) I found the first six weeks the hardest, and by 12 weeks it was an absolute doddle :)

LC I hope your baby arrives soon!!!

I've been so busy! As well as lots of weddings and Oliver and the housework Steve is off work with his ankle and can't do much so I'm running around after him too! Phew, I don't seem to get five minutes! I don't mind though, and the gorgeous weather helps, though I think this is the last day of that :(

Modo That's great you had a much more positive experience this time, even if you did almost give birth in the parking lot! :haha: Don't listen to the HV if Lily's nappies are wet/dirty every time you change them then she is getting milk! I hate that people like mw/hv who often know nothing/very little about bf advise new mums on bf, and if they didn't know better they would listen to them and feel like crap thinking they were starving their baby when they aren't! I'd recommned going to a breast feeding drop in clinic if they have them in your area as the people who run them are either Mums who are bf or have lots of experience of bf or they are run by mw/hv who actually know about bf. I'm another one who says the first 6/7 weeks you will do nothing but feed and it will be tough but then all of a sudden you turn the corner and things get so much easier and less painful and your milk supply will start to regulate meaning your boobs aren't so painful or full all the time. How has Bobby been with his new sister?

Hello ladies!!

Well I had my perfect baby Ava at 1106 pm yesterday after 5 hour 15 mins of labour, she weighed a whopping 9lb 6.5 oz's and is doing great.

She was born in the birthing pool completely naturally and very very quickly less than two hours after arriving in Hospital.

We left for Hospital after Will went to bed and were home in time for breakfast. It couldn't have been a more different or better birth.

We're all just chilling today xx

Congrats LC :happydance: can't wait to see pis :)

Mork - are you having a planned c section?

Logansmama - we are still bf too tho people keep making comments. I only feed indoors tho now.

Wow LC well done and congratulations! Gorgeous name too, and yay for such a great birth! Xx

Congratulations L-C!!! Wow that was nice and quick - was it the same with Will? Gorgeous name :) (T was 9lbs 6ozs too :) )
Maybe - I think i am going vbac - see consultant at the end of the week :)
OMG does this mean i am next to give birth????EEEEEEKKKK I'm not ready!!!!!!!!
xxx

Was a bit rushed earlier, but wanted to say Congratulations to LC! :) Your birth sounds just perfect! A lovely name, and what a good weight! I feel very excited about the new babies on this thread, and the ones to come too. Yay!

Modo, damn HVs they really know how to make people feel crap with flip comments eh? I've definitely learnt from last time to trust myself alot more this time round! I'd suggest if you are having alot of pain feeding then contact a proper breastfeeding advisor, or maybe your local LLL group for some decent advice :hugs:

Sarah, gaah, another person to look after, just what you wanted! :dohh: Hope Steve is recovered quickly so you can stop the nursing duties! :hugs:

Well done on the 2 year+ BF milestone ladies! I'm slightly jealous, although i stopped feeding Roh so long ago now i can't really imagine doing it now. Hoping that i can go with Freyja until she self-weans. :)

I've been really busy this last week! We went to Shropshire at the weekend to visit some friends who were having a bash for all our old uni friends, as one of them is moving to New York. We ended up renting a car as it was easier, and actually cheaper! First time Freyja had been in a car! :haha: She slept all the way there and back, and Roh was really good and amused himself. Except on the way there when he kept demanding snacks and juice, and wolfing them down, and then was dramatically sick all over the car seat and hire car. :dohh: Learnt my lesson there, he only got sips of water on the way home! It was a fab weekend though seeing old friends. There was 4 boys there, a 4 year old and 3 two year olds, and they had a brilliant time running about in the garden and jumping n the massive paddling pool my friend has. :) I didn't get much sleep as it was hot in the room and F and Roh kept waking up. When we got back i had to go straight to my friends sons 2nd birthday party! OH went to work so i was there on my own with the kids. F was grumpy because she was hot and Roh was off on one, so was running about like mad and kept hurting himself :dohh: I think my friends there got the impression i wasn't coping very well and was a bit stressed out! :haha: It was just a slightly awkward situation.
We had a nice day yesterday just staying in and relaxing, and today, we went to playgroup and made cupcakes :)

Time is flying by now! I can't believe Freyja is 11 weeks old already! I've had to ask my SIL to send the 6-12 month clothes down with my mum next week, as the 3-6 month stuff is getting tight! Sooo totally opposite to Roh! She weighs nearly 14lbs already!

Mork Will's birth couldn't have been more different, went on for ages, he struggled all the way through. I ended up with an epidural and forceps, so completely different. Recovery seems so much better already x

Thanks LC, I am so hoping that this birth is easier than the last as that one was just horrific! Did you spend the night in hospital? xx

I had her at 1106 pm and the paediatrician came around at about 3 am and they said we were good to go, we asked to stay a bit longer and left at 0630 hrs so that we didn't disturb Will. He basically was in bed when we left and only just up when we got back it was brilliant. I still can't get over how different the whole experience was, when we got back into the hospital it all came flooding back and I remember saying to DH, I feel really nervous and anxious things will go wrong again. But it was perfect and text book. You'll be fine!!

Yay congratulations LC what a nice speedy birth and a lovely name too.

First of all congratulations hon :hugs: I am so so pleased for you!

I agree with what you said 100%. Lily's birth proved to me that you really can heal from a pervious traumatic birth :hugs:

We've started potty training! So far, 2 wees on the floor and one on the potty! The first 2 were on the floor, then last one on the potty, so heading in the right direction. I'm really proud though, it was definitely a deliberate "oh i need to wee, go to the potty". Hurrah! :) Successful potty use earns a milkybar button and a sticker! Bribes are the way forwards i think. I asked Roh if he wanted to wear grown up pants tomorrow, like Mummy and Daddy and he seemed pretty keen, so we'll see how it goes. We are doing some gardening tomorrow, so it will be an ideal day to go for it :)

Lily wants to feed all the time :dohh: she s constantly on my boob or crying because she lost er latch. I am using nipple shields as both nipples have cut :( please tell me it gets better.

Modo, :hugs: it does get better! Have you had a specialist check your latch, and has Lily been checked for tongue tie?

Yeah was told latch is fine and there is no tongue tie. She keeps feeding for hours and hours and won't let me put her down
