Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

Yeah it got easier here once the sidecar cot went up too.

Modo Roh used to scream and try to pull F off when I fed her and say " no mummy owie owie" I think he thought she was biting me. Now he's used to it, if she cries he asks me to feed her! X

well we had a nice day out with my friend and her 2 kids at the street party. we went for lucnh at a local pub and the kids behaved themselves, well most of the time anyway :haha: pics on fb for anyone interested!

i left owen without a nappy after the bath and he has done 3 wees, unfortunately 2 of them were on the floor and 1 on the rug :dohh: 0 in the toilet! not so sure about trying the potty training thing now!

modo - things will get better but it does take a few weeks. hang in there! :hugs:

emera - i love roh's fickleness about the potty training at least he knows what he wants :haha:

sarah - i agree with mork, i love your weddings. maybe i should hire out a place near you and renew my vows so you can do it all up :)

mork- are you working?will you go back after baby?

h&f - glad you enjoyed your hols :)

Maybe it sounds like a lovely day :)

Its been peeing down all day here :( So Roh demanded pants after his nap, spent 20 mins getting me to take him on and off the toilet training seat having refused the potty, then said he didn't want to wee, went and hid down the hall, pee'd in his pants and joggers, got upset, took all his clothes off and asked for a nappy again! :haha: Bless him. I think he sort of gets it, but I think the issue is that he doesn't quite notice the signals that he's wanting to wee until its too late. Likely he just needs practice. I'm going to take it gently and see how things go I reckon. I might get some training pants so that there is a bit less laundry involved in the accidents. If it doesn't work out, I'll leave it a month and try again. ;)

emera - think that owen is a bit like Roh. when he did the wee on the rug, it was just after wee no2 on the floor and he actually said 'i do wee wee' and then promptly peed on the rug :dohh: i was like nooooooooo! not on the rug! in the toilet or in your nappy! :haha: i'm waiting til i'm off work though as i'm not going to give my mum this mammoth task!

Hey ladies,
Maybe - yes im still working, got till the end of the month - hope to go back after mat leave but depends on whether i have a job or not (long story!!)
Hope you are all having a good long weekend :) Shame about the weather :(
xxx

Mork - I soooo wish I didn't have to work! I'm insanely jealous of SAHM! :haha: I do like my job though, so that's good at least! It's just so difficult to juggle full time work, kids and chores! We only have 2 more weeks of full days and then 3 and a bit of half days and we break up on 10 July and go back 3 sept.

Evening ladies! Hope you are all well!!

Emera how is the potty training going? Oliver decided yesterday, completely out of the blue, that he didn't want to wear a nappy anymore. We had a chat about it and he seemed quite keen on giving the potty a try, so today we bought another potty, some pants, etc. He was extremely excited to wear his Thomas pants and had them on for about half an hour with no accidents, but wouldnt sit on his potty and kept putting it in the corner of the room :haha: So i ended up popping him back into a nappy and maybe we'll try again tomorrow. I feel completely unpreparedtbh, I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing :dohh: can I still pop him in a nappy when we go out for now?

We had a love jubilee weekend, it was fab. Three weddings though and one was a headache due to the worlds biggest cow of a wedding coordinator. Steve is still off with his foot, he went back to the dr today to see if he can go back to work and she said no and signed him off for another six weeks  I feel terrible because I know he's bored and in pain and everything and he must be feeling pretty fed up that he can't drive or walk anywhere, but I'm feeling the pressure / stress of looking after him and Oliver and the housework and trying to fit my work in too. Plus the jobs Steve normally does like looking after the chickens. I'm also trying to stop him doing too much but he will say no no I'mfine and then have a go when his leg hurts or he can't do it. We're both used to our own space too andwe're obviously not getting any. So yeah, it's a bit stressful at the moment.

I have to admit though I'm also been a but grumpy because Bramhan Horse Trials start today and I have been looking forward to going all year, and now we can't go. Steve has said we'll go and he'll just get sat down somewhere but I think it would just be stressful, I can't believe I'm missing it though :(

Aww Sarah sorry you are missing the trials. Can't you go with your folks? :hugs:

As far as potty training, I think its not that tricky really. Just ask them if they need to go lots, have the potty there and see how it goes. Lots of praise when they succeed etc. We've stopped for a couple of weeks as Roh was getting really stressed about it. He kept going and knong he should do something, but not quite get it together to get on the potty. He was getting really upset about it, so I didn't ask him if he wanted pants today, just popped a nappy on. A major change though is now when he poos, he comes right up to me and says " mummy new nappy, poo in nappy" :haha: Pretty helpful really as he won't sit down or anything, way less messy! :)

Freyja is sooo massive! I've had to put her in 6-9 month vest and babygrow tonight!!

Aww sarah sorry you are missing the horse trials :(
I have not started potty training yet, but what emera says is what i had in mind :)
xx

Sarah - boo to missing the trials :(

Emera - Owen told me today when he did a poo (straight after bath :dohh: ) and promptly lay down so I could change him :haha: he doesn't say anything about wet nappies!

The washing machines making a v funny noise  can't afford a new one at the mo so hope it is not on it's last legs :dohh:

We're off on Friday to benalmadena for the weekend as its dan's weekend off. :)

Dylan brought home his school report today. It was very good :) am a proud mummy :) he's hitting all the targets in all subjects and apparently excellent at science! He just needs to participate more in discussions. He's shy like I was :haha:

Eek Maybe i hope your machine is ok, mine started making funny noises right before the end :( Luckily we had insurance on it, so got a new one for free, which is the best thing ever!! Love my new washing machine! :D Hope yours is ok though!

Well done to Dylan!

Wish i was off for a nice weekend! There is going to be a big storm tomorrow, and its been raining the last two days, so i'm feeling a bit stir crazy! We'll go to toddler group tomorrow though, so at least we can leave the house before the winds get really severe. It says 70 mph+ winds tomorrow afternoon here!

Emera that sounds scary  hope it's not too bad! It was over 30 degrees here yesterday. The kids at school are acting all end of termish though there's still over a month left! Not making for easy teaching! Next week is the last of full days tho and after that we have 3 and a bit of half days so 8.45-12.45

Ava's already starting to settle down, she's been really good in her moses basket and pram now I'm putting her down on her side. We have been discharged by the MW today and she is 1 oz over her birth weight, so doing brilliantly.

Will is getting better about bed although we've had to do controlled crying, it's really receptive to it, so he only cried for 5 mins last night. DH is at work tonight, so first bed time routine for me with them both tonight.

This weather is rubbish, quite glad Will is at nursery, they have a big play area so they should be able to tire him out better than I can all couped up. Our garden is teired and we are having the whole thing levelled out ready for serious Wilbo playtime. they started yesterday and OMG what a mess, lol! Will be so worth it in the long run.

How are all the pregnant Mummy's doing?? I seem to have developed a postnatal rash, which is almost unbearable. Stupidly looked it up online and it can go on for ages and there's not really anything you can do about it. I'm so gutted. It's called PUPPS.

Lots of love xx

L-C Glad Ava is settling to sleep now. I am sure Will is having a great time running around at nursery. For your rash I can sympathise. I recommend Aqueous Cream with Calamine in it will really take the itch away! I have been super itchy on my arms and tummy for a few weeks now, and was tested for OC which I thankfully don't have but I am still quite itchy unless I keep putting lots of that cream on.

Maybe Well done to Dylan on the good school report. Have a lovely weekend away.

Sarah Sorry you are missing the horse trials. Could you go with a friend instead?

Emera That's great that Roh is trying potty training. How fab that Freyja is gaining weight so well and don't worry-Oliver was 17lb 9oz by 17 weeks (from 7lb 12oz at birth) then he slowed right down and now he has slimmed right down where he runs everywhere at speed!

Mork Hope you are doing ok.

We are struggling to come up with names as the ones we liked we have now gone off and we can't agree on any. Not helped by the fact that my H vetoes my names choices yet can't come up with any of his own and he would quite like a name that can't be shortened as he (and myself) get annoyed when others shorten Oliver's name to Ollie when we have never once called him that. It's so hard to choose a name!

I was super grumpy over the weekend which I am putting down to hormones and tiredness as I kept getting annoyed about silly things. Feeling happy again now though, though that could be because I am a saddo and am all happy because I have washed everything in the washing basket and cleaned the house from top to bottom  My little helper LOVES his job of turning the hoover on and off when I ask him to.

Oliver is happy to sit on his potty and will try to squeeze something out, he has only managed once. That may have something to do with the fact that he is desperate to play with the flush on the toilet, and loves washing his hands so when myself and H say if he does a wee in his potty he can tip it into the toilet, push the flush and wash his hands. He really wanted some 'big boy pants' when we were at the shops a couple of weeks ago and was desperate to wear them. He was great at coming to tell me that he had done a wee and needed 'Mummy clean pants. Wipe floor' ha ha. He also really wanted to show them to my H and ran to get me to put some on him as soon as my H arrived home from work. He does tell me when he has done a poo but it's only usually in the morning when he tells me he needs a clean nappy because of wee. Will follow his lead though so whenever he is ready I am happy to go with it, and follow him around with industrial sized rolls of tissue and antibacterial wipes.

LC - hope the rash settles soon!

muddles - glad that oliver is being a good helper :) owen likes the mop :haha: we haven't got a vacuum! i can sympathise with the whole name thing. Owen was going to be Cole, then Aaron and then was finally Owen!

well got to get the packing finished for tomorrow and clean up a bit and do some ironing. the kids are in bed but not asleep. i'm eating dinner whilst typing this. it seems to be getting more and more difficult to get them to bed :( i know it is light out but we do have black out blinds and it is 8.40pm. Owen keeps crying off and on and Erin is crying coz Dylan won't let her watch tv in his room. (he's allowed 15-30 mins in bed as he's the eldest, Erin has no tv in her room)

Hey all,
Maybe - hope the washing machine holds up. Boo to the struggle getting the kids to bed, must be so hard with 3. Hugs xxxx
Muddles-I am so with you on feeling happy when everything is washed and clean (I LOVE cleaning :) ).
Sarah-Hope you are ok.
Modo - hows being a mummy of 2?
L-C - congrats on being discharged fro the mw!
How is everyone else?
I cannot believe my baby is due one month today - eeeekkk!!! I am not ready for the lo arriving but am ready to go through labour again if that makes sense, although i have to say i have enjoyed this pregnancy much more than my first!!
Any ideas for a present for T for when baby arrives - she has loads of dolls already, which is what i did have in mind!
xx

Mork, I suggest something crafty as a present for T. You are going to be spending lots of time feeding the baby. The easiest thing for me has been to put Roh in his booster seat and do glueing or play dough or stickers or something that keeps him occupied and that's fun for him. Maybe something a bit more fancy would be a good present. How about Fuzzy Felt, if they still do that? Also I think there are quitye a few books you can get about having a new baby n the house, so that might be good too?

Thanks hon, fuzzy felts were actually one of my ideas :) xxx

Mork I'm with emera here on the crafts idea. Fuzzy felt is good as there's not too much mess involved! 1 month to go! Wow! That's gone fast! Are you trying for a vbac?

Hi all sorry for being MIA - I have been struggling with over tiredness and mood swings ... the jiys of being pregnant and not being able to sleep at night!

Ihave the buider coming to start on Amy's room on Wednesday hopefully it will only take him a week or so to put the new window etc in and then we can get on with moving her into a big bed etc all hopefully before the baby arrives. so everything is in a bit of a mess at ours at the moment ... which is a nightmare trying to have all of Amys toys in the main room rather than being in her room. Fingers crossed when her room is done I will still have the energy to sort everything out!

Emera -Freyja is gorgeous ... how are you finding things with the two of them now?

Muddles - we are really struggling with names at the moment ... just a warning about peeople shortening names I didnt think you could shorten Amy but people still do! We like the name Eva at the moment but not 100% on anything at the moment!

Mork - We have just got Amy loads of creative bits and pieces for her to play with once the baby is here. I was going to get her another doll and bed for her dolls but I dont think there is enough room in our house!

LC and Modo - how are things going with having two?

Sarah - hope your ok x x x

Anyone I have missed hope your ok. right I am off to clean a kitchen cupboard before my mum gets here! ... if the rest of the house is going to be a tip at least I can sort the kitchen out!
