Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

Hey all -

Hope your all getting on ok.

Sorry for being missing my iron levels are ridiculously low at 8.5 and nothing seems to be bringing them back up after seeing a useless consultant and seeing my midwife today still nothing can be done ' just keep taking the tablets' which isnt very helpful when your trying to look after a two year old.

I guess the only plus side is baby is head down and ready to go so fingers crossed she will make an apperance at some stage!

OMG H&F when did you get so close to your due date???!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope baby makes an appearance sooner rather than later xxx

Just wanted to update you on Bobby's hearing. We went to see an ENT who asked us to do another hearing test before we discussed booking him in for an grommits operation. Well this time the hearing test went very well! The checked his ears and the fluid is gone :D So we have just started to see a speech therapist and will be seeing her regularly.

Bobby has started to say some words! Quack quack (wack wack), Baa (sheep), Go (Bingo), Door (wind the bobbin up), Knee (Heads Shoulders Knees and Toes) and will identify animals by pointing to their sticker (we have them up in the playroom) when you make the animal sound. I know this doesn't sound like a big deal but I am so happy!!!

He is still behind his peers in speech and with play and is easily distractible (according to the speech therapist) but we don't know what it is. Hopefully she will figure it out with time.

Great news modo!

Mork - time has seriously flown by! can't believe I am due in 3 and a half weeks!

Maybe, happy anniversary! Hope the meal out was lovely :hugs:

H&F, how time flies! Hope your bubs waits about 5 more days and then starts making a move so you can work on your iron levels! :)

Modo, that's great news about Bobby's hearing! I'm sure once the therapist cracks what's caused the delay he'll be zooming on!

Mork, hope things are going well with you there? :hugs:

A seagull swooped down on us in town and stole a rice cake right out of Roh's hand! He was totally brave, and just looked really shocked, and when i asked him said that the bird was soft, but his finger hurt! Bless. I hope he's not too freaked by it. He insisted on taking his dinner under the table to eat, and when i asked him why, he started saying something about birds taking food away!
In other news, today's poo was in the middle of the hall. Happily on the laminate flooring! On the plus side, we've had zero wee accidents! :)

Emera - poor roh and the bird! Hope he's eaten at the table rather than under it today!!! Yey for no pee accidents! Boo at the poo on the floor. I've had a wee on the floor and a poo in his pants today! At my mums now so he napping with a nappy on now! Will take it off when he wakes.

Modo - great news about Bobby's hearing and speech!

Mork - hows life with 2 little ones?

H&f - my iron levels were really bad with Owen! Had to take 2 tablets a day and it went up a bit. Midwife threatened me with injections if it didn't go up so took them religiously! Was also told if it was too low I may have needed a transfusion in labour/birth. Ask for a second opinion if consultant is crap!

I spoke to Amy on fb and she's doing well and hopes to be back on b&b soon! She's got no Internet at the mo.

Had a nice night out with Dan. We ate and then went to the casino for a bit and had a few cocktails and played bingo like old farts

My grandma died  She had been really sick for a while. Feel numb :(

Just popped on to say hello to you lovely ladies.

So sorry for your loss Modo :hugs:

Not loing now muddles xx

I am very excited! Midwife wrote that the head is engaged FINALLY at my appointment earlier this week so hopefully baby will arrive on time, especially if it stays this hot.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying being able to get the paddling pool out, I know we are, it's bliss being able to sit with my feet in it.

Muddles - hope baby does indeed make a timely arrival!!!

We have been off the beach as Dylan's got an infected ear :( poor thing. He seems better today so hopefully next week we can hit the beach again!!!

Modo, sorry to hear about your grandmother. :hugs:

Muddles, yay for head being engaged! Hopefully not long to go, or for you H+F! :)

Maybe, hope Dylan feels better really soon! :hugs:

We are well, Roh's been a bit ill with something or other but seems to be improving. Despite that, he's now potty trained except for sleeping. Really proud of him he's done so well!!

We've been doing some landscaping in the garden to make it child-safe. Backbreaking stuff but so worth it, its looking great :)

Thank you girls for your support :hugs:

We took Lily to a doctor's appointment to discuss her prosterior tongue tie on Monday. She was weighed there and we found out she still weighs the same as her birth weight  So the plan is that we feed Lily Expressed Breast Milk (3oz 4/day) and I have to pump. I am still breastfeeding her between bottles and pumping when she sleeps. I have also stopped using nipple shields which means bfing her lying down (best way to get her latch). We will be going back to the Dr on Monday to get her weighed again.

The Doctor would no cut her tongue tie as he doesn't think it's the cause of the problems. However, from researching it seems to be a common cause of not gaining weight and damage to Mom's nipples. I think this is why she was feeding constantly from my boobs (only stopped to sleep) and never seemed full. She would cry when she came off. I thought that was a breastfeeding thing but it turns out she just wasn't getting enough. My LC recommended we get it done, so we have booked a private appointment to get it cut tomorrow at 10am.
