Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

Ergh H+F lots of sympathy, its miserable! :hugs: Can't stay pregnant for ever though xxx

Poor you H&F it really is tough by the end :( :hugs:

Thank you girls for all the support. I am trying out the domperdone this week and will see how it goes. The deciding factor was last night when she kept latching, crying then unlatching. Her arms were waving about and she had a panicked look on her face. She fell asleep on the boob and when I tried to take it out she woke up and cried. I had to hold her for about half an hour as she cried and cried. I switched her onto the other boob and she got some from it because she visibly relaxed, came off and fell asleep.

I have got a quick question for you girls. During the day she latches drinks for a while, unlatches, smiles then latches back on. Then she will latch for three seconds unlatch and latch again. She keeps doing that. Is she not hungry anymore? If so why does she latch again?

Modo so much about breast feeding isn't actually about food lol! Babies ( and toddlers lol!) get a huge amount of comfort from it. So she make just be seeking that comfort?

Babies also suck to increase supply, so even though she might not be getting very much milk some times she's still doing a job in that she's encouraging your supply to increase. It's all very clever :)

Also that latching unlatching thing can indicate wind too. I have trouble with my left boob and always have done. Its pretty hit and miss whether she'll feed from it or not.
If she has wind, she'll fuss about and bob on and off and scream until I wind her, then she'll latch again fine. Also babies naturally like to take a break mid-feed, so I always offer again after winding. Plus, sometimes they'll want to re-latch to get comfy, so to speak.

I actually solved it by covering her with a muslin, she stayed latched on until she finished. I think she is just excited by her surroundings.

Yeah, around the 3-6 month phase, the challenge is to stop them getting distracted! Unless they are properly hungry they are a pain, as they are so nosey!! ;)

H&f - hope labour starts soon xx

Mork - I had similar problems when Erin was born (though Dylan wasn't bf) at times I felt really overwhelmed. Erin cried non stop for about 4months! It does get better though!

Emera - am going cold turkey tomorrow with nappies!!!

Happy to report good progress on the cold turkey with nappies. Last night I put a nappy on him but whipped it off 1st thing this morning and it was actually dry! 2 poos and loads of pees in the potty. A trip to town with no accidents. Only 1 accident and he realised and held in the rest and finished up on the potty! Let's see how he gets on at nursery tomorrow but I'm happy that I will be going back to work with Owen potty trained or almost potty trained so I won't place that job onto my mums shoulders!

Maybe, sounds like he's doing brilliantly!!

We've had alot of accidents in the last few days, but then Roh is being just awful, so i think he must be going through some sort of development phase or something, not sure, but he's just so difficult. He goes mad if we stay in, but i'm hating taking him out because he just throws tantrum after tantrum. Full on ones where he's screaming and rolling on the floor and hitting everything, then when i pick him up he kicks and bites and thrashes about and hits me and pulls my hair, screams in my face, its so tiring! And so embarrassing when we are out! Its only been a few days, but i'm really losing sight of my sweet little boy :( He has the odd sweet moment, when he'll crawl onto my lap an curl up and stroke my hair, but otherwise its just a battle! Hopefully he'll get through whatever is bothering him soon.
I'm sure the wee accidents are linked. Its such a shame, we had a family day out on Sunday, and apart from about 30 minutes when he had alot of fun, i had to keep him strapped into the buggy the rest of the time, because he was being so badly behaved. :( Ah well, terrible twos and all that! :dohh:

Maybe well done with the potty training!!

Emera I'm sorry to hear that Roh is been so difficult :hugs: I hope he gets back to normal soon, I'm sure he will!

Modo how are things going?

H&F hope you are okay!

Not much to report here. We've been doing a lot of playing outside, except for today when it's done nothing but rain! I had an absolute nightmare on Monday, I had to go to two venues to collect covers and things, and they were both over in Halifax, and I absolutely HATE driving around Halifax :( Steve was going to come with me but had a headache and stayed in bed :dohh: So I had no one with me, it was an hours drive to the first venue, collected those no problem, then it was half an hour to the next one on completely unfamiliar roads. Got there and they couldn't find th key to the barn where they hold the weddings :dohh: so I waited for an hour while I coud get to everything  :grr: Luckily it was a national trust place so Oliver and I went and played in the play area and things which was nice, until it started raining. So I was pretty fed up by that point, plus the hours wait ment it was rush hour, then on the way home my sat nav kept freezing so I ended up completely lost, in ruh hour, with Oliver crying in the back, me crying in the front, utterly fed up :( Somehow I managed to find my way half using the sat nav, half guessing, but I have never been so pleased to see the m62 :haha: I felt really traumatised when I got back  and then for some reason Steve was in a mood and didn't even speak to me all night  So all in all a crap day, but the rest of the week has been better, thank goodness :)

Hope you are all okay!

Xx

Ergh, Sarah i hate crappy days like that! :hugs: And men seem to just have terrible timing with their moods, they always get stroppy when you could really do with a bit of a shoulder to cry on! :hugs:

Going to try taking Roh to the soft play cafe tomorrow, hopefully it will knacker him out and keep him occupied!

Emera - we are having a similar thing with Amy at the moment she has started hitting and kicking again so going out can be a real nightmare. Fingers crossed they get back to their usual happy selves soon.

Sarah - I hate days like that. Its a nightmare especially having a child in the back who just wants to be out the car.

As for me I am still pregnant! Very frustrated and what made it worse was seeing the midwife today and her saying its all to do with oxytocin levels or something and if I am stressed I wont go into labour naturally ... I dont know any woman who isnt stressed once they go overdue but it has made me feel like its never going to happen now.

Hope everyone is ok x x x

Sarah - nightmare drive! I hate driving in unfamiliar places!

Emera - Owen throws some killer tantrums. It's all about exerting what they want and testing our boundaries. Terrible 2's! I resort to the buggy when I'm out and then he screams 'I behave mummy! I'm goi g to be a good boy' and then cries and cries when I don't let him out!

H&f - interesting what the mw told you about oxytocin levels as I was going through one of the most stressful times in my life whilst pregnant with Owen and I ended up endured whereas with Dylan and Erin I went into labour on my due date!

Woke up to a dry nappy. He did a giant wee when he got up. Let's see how he gets on at nursery this morning!!!

H&F: I don't think that's the case, well it wasn't for me anyway. I had just moved, with no acess to the internet or a phone line, boxes everywhere, a naughty toddler and it was one of the most stressful times of my life. I went into labour at 39 weeks and a few days but then again maybe it was going up and done three flights of stairs all the time that did it.

Emera: tantrums are a nightmare :( sometimes Bobby will scream up to an hour before bed :( Hope softplay helped.

Sarah: What a nightmare :hugs: Hope you feel batter now. I am ok, thanks for asking :hugs:

I have been taking domperidone for 6 days and I am so happy with the results :) I am not def not engorged or anything like that. It's just given me a decent supply that actually fills Lily. It's so nice seeing her content like that. I make sure I pump after every feeding but I don't get a huge amount so she is pretty much emptying out what there. I pump in the morning and during her naps, I get 3 oz which I give her as supplements 3 times a day. This has been a much better week overall :D

Modo, so glad you've had a better week! :hugs:

Poor Roh must have had a terrible dream last night, he woke up about 12am and just kept saying "sad" over and over. I put him back to bed and he was quite happy to just go back to bed, but at 1am he woke up again and was saying the same thing when i asked what was wrong, he just said "sad" but wouldn't say anything else. I picked him up for a cuddle, and he was stiff and physically shaking! :( He just locked his arms round my neck and wouldn't let go. After 30 mins of sitting in his bed with him clinging on to me silently, and refusing to let go, i ended up taking him to our bed, where he cuddled really tight against me and went right back to sleep. He never normally sleeps in our bed, if we bring him through he normally goes bonkers jumping about.
This morning, when OH and i asked him what was the matter last night, he went totally quiet and just clung on to OH and wouldn't let go for about 30 mins again. I think he was really frightened about something, and i wish he'd say what it was, because then we could talk about it. Not sure what to do really?

Hi all we were away for the weekend fri-mon as my parents rented a place up the coast. Spent the days by the pool but poor Erin has ended up with an ear infection :(
