Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

You're all hating the snow and I'm envious as it doesn't snow here :haha:

Maybe, not hating the snow at all. Hating how lame this country is at dealing with any weather other than overcast/drizzle! :dohh:

Haha! Emera we're enjoying it too, having the 4x4 is fab, Steve doesn't worry about getting home etc so he isn't grumpy  Oliver and I have been having loads of fun playing out in it, we haven't really gone out very far but Steve is off tomorrow so we'll be able to get out and about :)

Roh was so excited when it started snowing again tonight, he was watching it out the window when i went to check in on them earlier, i had to carry him back in to bed, he was freezing! Its started raining now though, so i bet it will all be gone in the morning. Mixed blessings!

Sorry I've not been on, been feeling a little overwhelmed and down recently. Don't think it helps that Ava's sleep is dreadful. At worst she is up every 40 mins until I give in and let her come in with me and at best she sleeps three hours, and then come in with me. I have tried everything, not really sure what to do now.

It's such a relief she's so adorable. She is clapping, waving and crwaling (or sorts, she drags one leg lol!!). She is just so clingy and freaks out if I leave the room! Everything seems to be impossible with her. Just tried to get her to go down for a nap and she needs time but Will is constantly whining at me or just making noise. It seems so unfair on her, no wonder he night time sleep is so bad, when she doesn't stand a chance in the day. she was so good initially, I feel like I've ruined her. I go back to work in eight weeks and have to work some evenings until midnight. I'm so worried about how my DH is going to manage with the two of them especially with Ava and no brest feed and then getting her to go. I guess it could make or break the problem.

It all seems to be really positive or really negative here, with not much inbetween, oh and I have a sore nipple lol xxxx

Sorry I've not replied to you all individually, I read each and every post and love doing so xxx

LC what you are going through sounds so familiar! Owen was like that! Every 40 minutes awake! TBH I tried l loads of things and in the end what worked (but took a while) was refusing night feeds. I kept giving in so it didn't work until one night I decided enough was enough. Instead of bf I sat by the cot and shushed him and patted his bum. It got to a stage that it felt that the shush/pat was just replacing bf with that but gradually it got better. That said he still wakes at least 3/4 times a night now but I think it's mainly coz he's kicked off his blankets!

What a day! All day at work, then took Erin to dance classes and dropped her off. Then supermarket for a quick whizz, then back to collect Erin. Then went to a rehearsal for a concert I'm doing with school choir tomorrow (with Erin in tow) and then home. Mil was looking after boys and when I got in the whole bath, food bed thing! Mil made pasties so thankfully don't have to cook :D and hoping for a bit of peace before Dan gets in from work at 10! Phew am exhausted already and need to mark a pile of Maths books for the morning  xxx

Phew, Maybe, tiring day! Hope you have your feet up! :hugs:

LC, i had exactly the same with F, she was great to start with, then her sleep got worse and worse. I just decided to stop beating myself up about her co-sleeping if it meant we both got some sleep, and in the day if she was tired, i'd put her to nap, if she did, she did, if not, then not  What can you do really? You can't keep a 2 year old quiet, its impossible, so F has just had to learn to sleep through Roh's noise, or lump it! If things get bad, i still just stick her on my back and play with Roh. She normally goes to sleep then after a while. On the plus side here, after being at the same point as you, with F waking about every 40 mins at 6 months, we now have the kids sharing a room, and at 10 months, she's started properly sleeping through about a week and a half ago, and previously she was at one waking (or occasionally 2) for about 6 weeks. I think the 6 month sleeping phase is crappy personally! Its definitely nothing you've done! If how babies sleep was about parenting style then F should have been sleeping through at 5 months, because Roh did!! Big :hugs: to you, sorry you are down. I have to say i found the 4-8 month phase challenging! Its a little easier now, as F can move around and play, but we still have issues and plenty of screaming everyday  I keep thinking to myself it will all get easier! It must be easier because OH suggested going from relaxed NTNP to full on TTC next month. Gulp! I've suggested we sort the house move first! :haha:

Sorry you are having such a crappy time at the moment LC. I can sympathise fully with the toddler making noise and stopping baby from sleeping during the day as I get so angry with O for waking K up. What I have found works best for us is for me to either go out in the morning or the afternoon in either the car or with K in her buggy (we always go straight after a feed) so she gets at least one decent sleep a day. Hopefully the night times will get better, everything is so much worse when you aren't getting a decent sleep. :hugs:

Emera how is F now is she feeling better? Any developments with the house move, is the one you like still available?

Maybe I'm tired just reading about your day, bet you can't wait to crawl into bed!

Had the day from hell with O on Monday, he was so naughty and I spent pretty much the whole day telling him off, but he was clever enough to know that if he does something a third time he goes to the naughty spot so he would do something twice then stop and a few minutes later do something else that he shouldn't be. Think it was just all the excitement from the Christening as he has was really tearful yesterday but today was back to normal thank goodness. K wants to stand ALL the time, she rocks back and forth to move herself forward on my lap so she moves forward then soon as her feet are touching something she stands, have to have such a tight grip on her otherwise she would just flop forwards! Over the past couple of days I think she has started signing milk :happydance: as if she is getting hungry she flaps her left arm up and down bashing it off her leg and moving her fingers (if she is just wriggling she waves both arms and it is in a different way) then if you ask her if she wants milk (and sign it to her) she does it more or gets really excited and waves both arms and legs and squeaks

Muddles - it's not called the terrible 2s for nothing eh?!!

Emera - ttc! How exciting! :) have you sold your place yet?

Muddles - I have days where I feel like I'm shouting at Will all day, they are so cute but sooooo frustrating. Did he go back alright last night?

Emera - TTC gulp, you are so brave. I couldn't do it again xx

Maybe - urrrrgh, hope you managed to sit down before Dan got home.

Thanks for all the support and advice. Think it's a separation problem more then feeding as I only tend to feed her twice and once she's in with me she's pretty good. Think she's just caught on that if she doesn't settle I bring her in with me, it's just getting earlier and earlier and I don't mind co-sleeping at all but just need a couple of hours in the evening to get on top of stuff and have a few moments to myself, IYKWIM.

Think I might try a few nights of keeping her in her bed no matter what, even if I'm up all night and see if that helps......?

LC may be worth a shot but she will try to break you! I remember Owen screaming for 2hrs when I tried to CIO! Good luck xxx

Dan and i were talking about baby names. v soon i know! What do you think of these: Samara Marie for a girl or Samuel Felix (Sam for short and Felix as its my dads name) for a boy? Honest opinions please girls :)

I like both too! Sam or Sammy is such a sweet nickname for a girl or boy. :)

LC good luck with the own bed thing! F just screamed forever when I did proper CIO, but now she's a bit older she does just cry for a few minutes then go to sleep!

Maybe, nope not sold our place yet. We are delayed as we desperately need to do a repair on the wall outside before its marketable, but it can't be done in wet or cold weather, so we are basically screwed for the moment. :( Very annoying as I'm desperate to get moved!!

Emera that's annoying? Bad weather sucks. We get awful damp in our bedroom in winter with the rain.

Hey ladies :)
Maybe - both names are lovely :) not heard of samara before - out of interest, what does it mean and where is it from? Is it your scan this coming monday?
No more snow here but it is fecking cold!!!
Hope you all have good weekend plans?
xx

Lovely names Maybe and great that you are discussing names. I really like your girl's name and LOVE your boy's one. How are you feeling?

LC good luck with the bed thing.

Emera we had terrible damp in the flat we lived in before this place. When we got it dried out we painted it with some anti mould paint and when we moved out it hadn't come back.

I went to a new toddler group this afternoon and I was waiting in a queue and talking to O and the lady in front turned round and smiled so I smiled back then she turned back round a few seconds later and asked if she could say something to me (I panicked ) then she told me that she didn't want to make me uncomfortable but she thought I was beautiful. She must have forgotten her glasses :haha: but very sweet and made my day even if I didn't believe her.

Aww, Muddles, it must have taken some courage for her to say that to you actually, so she must have felt quite strongly that she needed to tell you! I'd take that one as a genuine compliment! :) Plus, you ARE beautiful! :hugs:

Muddles you are beautiful! What a lovely compliment :) I'm not feeling too great. Constant nausea and exhaustion but hoping its a sign all is well. Also sooooo hungry all the time. I'm already bursting out my 'fat' clothes and I have no maternity clothes as I gave them away as Owen was supposed to be the last!

Modo - one of the girls at school is called samara and I really like the name though I'm not sure what it means. Perhaps better find out.

I'm glad it's Friday. Though there will be no lie in over the weekend at least I won't have to go to work!!! Scan on Monday after work :) hope they see something seeing as its costing £93!

Thanks Emera and Maybe I certainly don't feel it but a lovely compliment none the less. Made me think I often look at people and think lovely top/trousers/shoes/hair/makeup....etc but never say it and maybe if I did it would make that person feel good. I often worry what I look like (not helped by my mother saying I looked a mess at Christmas (despite wearing a new dress with leggings underneath and having my hair straightened and my make up done) and if someone looks at me staight away feel self conscious and wonder if I have something on me or stuck in my hair when they could just be admiring my jumper or something.

Maybe good luck with your scan. Ebay for maternity clothes! When we had an early scan with O we saw a hb when I was around 7 weeks.
