Newborn insert for car seat

I have the maxi cosi cabriofix car seat, and was wondering when the foam part to the newborn insert can be taken out?

LOs feet hang out of the seat now and he is always sick in that bannana position and recently is favouring sitting up on my lap to laying down

Would it be ok if he were sitting up more?

I think we took ours out at about 3 months but he looked so tiny and lost in it for a while after

I took the foam out at about 3+ months and the total insert out at about 5 months

Next time hes awake ill see how he is in it before taking the plunge!

I took the foam cheese out the back at 3 months but kept using the head support ( gave him more leg space), took the whole insert out at 6 months
