PCOS Buddies (10 BFP)

Have any of you ladies been seen at a fertility clinic ? I have no idea what to expect or what can even be done..

My gynaecologist has asked my gp to refer us to fertility clinic - he wants bloods, sperm analysis etc doing for it. I think that's where they consider IUI and IVF etc.

I've never been to a fertility specialist. All of my stuff has been done through my gynecologisteps.

Afm, I'm waiting on o. I'm having lots of tenderness today so I'm really hoping on happens soon. Opks are still negative and I'm testing 2-3 times a day so I don't miss it.

Tenderness is a good sign! opks are clear or faint?? i got negative opks for days then positive, didnt gradually go darker. Thought that was weird.

Mine have all been negative. Mine do the same stay negative and then all of a sudden positive.

What have you ladies found to be a good opk brand? I've never had luck with them and clearly I ovulate with 2 pregnancies. I'm not sure if they just don't work for me or if I don't test long enough since I've always ovulated toward the later side. I think I probably don't test long enough as I get fed up and assume they aren't working.

I use wondfo brand and have had a lot of success. I've tried the equate ones and found them difficult to read.

May55: I'm currently going to a fertility clinic in order to concieve. We were referred by my OBGYN after my OH's semen analysis came back less than stellar. It was at the clinic that I was finally Dx'd with PCOS (bloodwork and ultrasound confirmed). They will more than likely run bloodwork to see if there are any genetic factors that are hindering viable pregnancies as well as to see if it's hormone related, etc.

I just finished my 4th round of Clomid today and am hoping that I get a positive opk by the 9th or 10th so that we can do our first round of IUI. OH has to head out of town 8/12-8/14 so if I O while he's gone we'll just have to try again next month. We haven't had any pregnancies at all and have been unsuccessfully trying for exactly a year.

Sorry, I've been lurking in here pretty frequently. I just now felt it was the right time to chime in. :howdy:

I used easy@home brand opks and hpts. I did try wondfo but didnt like it as much as easy@home ones. Especially hpts, u will never get a false positive!

thanks! I seem to get pregnant every 6 months but both times have ended in miscarriage :( They want to see me in October but said they dont need to see my bf yet.

As I'm getting close to 12week mark, I gotta figure out when to stop metformin. My obgyn thinks I already stopped so I can't ask her and endo told me to take first three months.

Should I stop at 12weeks or 13weeks since that when I enter second trimester? And how should I stop? Slowly lower the dose or stop all together?

I would half the dose at 12 weeks and stop completely at 13 weeks.

How are we all ladies?

I think I may have actually ovulated 2 days ago - Right sided ovary pains that were quite intense potentially pre-ov but are still there a little bit. Is that normal?

Started inositol this month which might have helped!

Betty- sounds normal to me. I can usually feel the corpus luteum cyst that lingers after o. It helps produce progesterone.

Nothing new here just WTT still haha. Next month I start with the bbt and maybe OPKs. They haven't worked for me on the past. I've been ovulating earlier every cycle. First was cd19 then cd18 and now I believe it was cd17. Yay inositol!

My last round of clomid failed so I'm just waiting for af or when I get annoyed enough to start progesterone. I'm fairly certian I have at least one large cyst so just feeling annoyed.

How do you know it failed? Didn't u take clomid this cycle n u are only cd21.

Yes, I did take it this cycle. Cd 2-6, if you don't ovulate within 10 days of clomid it's considered clomid did not work. Plus I'm fairly certain I developed cysts. I has a ton of pain cd 13 and 16.

How do you know that u didn't ovulate? I had so much pain the day of ovulation and up to 5dpo.
