do you machine wash them? and do you need to soak them in solution before washing?

If i was to do a search for them what do I type....cloth reusable nappies? or is there a particular brand that you can recommend? any help appreciated!

I live in middle of nowhere...nearest main shops are 38 miles from here, we have a post office where I live and thats it! and I dont drive so it would be by mail order
