I love all these updates. Jacob is adorable Sproglett! All these clever babies who are now sitting up and have teeth! Amelie has had her 2 bottom teeth for a little over 2 weeks. She's been able to sit up unsupported for a short time for a couple of months now, but these last couple of weeks she been able to sit with just a couple of cushions behind her and play with her toys for ages. Despite being properly spoilt with loads of toys her favourite things to play with are the tops from her bottles, the curtains, the Sky+ remote and my phone! She is still refusing to roll over though (and it's still like trying to change an Octopus!), so she can't get herself back into a sitting position!
Apologies in advance, but the rest of my post is going to be long and selfish, but I really don't know who else I can explain all this to.
I'm really struggling again! I was feeling better once I started on the Citalopram (I'm going to be on it for a least another 4 months according to my GP), but it feels like we are just going from one problem straight into another.
Weaning for us has just turned into a massive problem and I'm really not coping with it well. She was diagnosed as CMPI at 5 weeks old. The paediatrician who saw was sure that she was Soya intolerant too, but we couldn't test it until she was 6 months. As suspected she is intolerant, so we have been referred back to the Dietician (who we weren't due to see again until Amelie is 11 months) but told to continue introducing new foods as normal. Now I was aware we had a small chance of her possibly being intolerant to Wheat and/or Gluten because of the CMPI and Soya intolerance. But after she had Weetabix she came out in Hives everywhere! She was really bloated and uncomfortable for a couple of days after eating it too, so it clearly just doesn't agree with her.
She developed hives again a few days later when she ate a jar of baby food (which only containing Carrots, Peas, Onions, Tomatoes, water, baby rice, Chicken and Rapeseed Oil). Everytime she eats anything with Pear in it her Eczema flares up, so we have been referred back to Paediatrics (who discharged us when Amelie was 10 weeks old as she was gaining weight on hypoallergenic formula, so it is going to be 6ish weeks before we get an appointment). Whilst we wait for an appointment I'm under instructions to only feed Amelie fresh homemade food, and we can only introduce one new food a week.
Weaning hasn't made her reflux any better either, it just means her sick is now the colour of whatever she has eaten (usually something Orange!) I'm now having to wash all of her clothes in Vanish stain remover at least twice to get the stains out.
Then on top of that over the last couple of days she seems to have developed an aversion to eating anything that isn't cereal! Whenever I try to feed her a puree she will eat a couple of spoonfuls before clamping her mouth shut and arching backwards.
If you've managed to get to the end of my saga, thank you for reading.
