The blue bobble type blanket was knitted by a lady i work with. Its so soft and she made me two. One for his car seat and one for his carrycot. x
The bobble blankets are gorgeous, I'm going to have a go once I know what colour my pram is. The lady in the wool shop assures me they are dead easy but I'm not convinced!

the lady who knitted it for me said it was dead easy to do. She said you just need to make sure that the boobles line up. I think she said starting off was the hardest part but she managed a line in a few minutes....i could never do that tho!

So this isn't baby related, but it's crafty and I made it today!!

I whipped together a cover for a sleeping mat we bought for my dog for camping! I can't bear the thought of her sleeping on the cold, hard ground - but she can't sleep with me anymore! :nope:

I bought this cute camping fleece fabric as a remnant (marked half off) and it was just enough to make this!
The brown fabric is a thick linen.

So we bought a little self inflating mat:

And I folded it in half and made a cover!:

Sorry it's so dark - it's cloudy today.

Here's the opening. I made the brown fabric overlap so the mat is protected:

She likes it!

I AM WELL CHUFFED WITH MYSELF!!

awww bless him, you see I would make that but my ruddy dog would just go on the hard cold floor anyway!

I am thinking she might do that anyway, too, because where we will be camping will be rather warm and she - being a Spitz breed - gets warm easy :haha:

I made my baby boys 1st baby blanket on Sunday. I'm so proud of it. I usually make regular quilts so this rag quilt was a change for me, so fun to make. My husband keeps bugging me to start his bedding so I guess that's next. I'm on a roll now...many more where that came from :)

I love that! I'm making a patchwork quilt for my baby girl and I love the rag effect, how do you do it?

Thank you! It's quite easy actually I followed this tutorial (https://www.creationsbykara.com/2010/01/baby-rag-quilt-tutorial.html) but there's a million out there you can use just google "Rag Quilt Tutorial". She used a smaller piece of batting for the middle but I think it gives it a nicer effect if you use the same size square of flannel for the middle as well and pop in another color if you want. My son will be born in November so I wanted it to feel a little thicker as well so the 3 pieces of flannel were perfect. ****TIP: Please don't kill yourself using regular scissors to cut all the pieces after it's sewed together...you will regret it. I had bought the scissors recommended for this project (they're pointed and have a spring) and they were awesome for my first one that I did last year but I made it with jean and corduroy and so it wore them out pretty quick. It took me much longer to do it with the wrong scissors this time and I could barely use my hand for about 3 days after, lol. It's very quick and easy with the right scissors though.

Hope this helps, I'd love to see it if you decide to make one. I'll probably make a bunch of these.

sma1588, are you referring to a patchwork pillow? If so, there's a great tutorial below.

I bought the letters at Michaels (they have them at lots of different stores) and then painted them with the colors I wanted it to be!
