Skylanders?

It's time to confess that I'm not down with the kids and don't really understand Slylanders.

Santa is bringing the starter pack for my nephews and, as we were struggling with ideas for them, the elves have suggested that we buy them some figures.

Can anyone recommend a some good packs or figures for 7 year olds?

Which skylanders starter pack are they getting? Is it trap team?

If it us you could buy the new figures and the traps
Also the swapforce characters and the gaints work in the new trap team game so you could buy them if they don't gave them?

Swapforce are on offer in tesco £4.00 a character!

My 7 year old has requested Sonic Boom and Stump Smash. They have the Swap Force version and the old characters work on there. I would definitely recommend getting a 'giant'. Be warned though, you don't want just one from Skylanders Giants, you want an actual giant who is bigger than the others. Some boxes can only be opened by these giant characters and my boys moaned at me until I bought them a giant LOL
The characters also have elements like fire, earth, air, so maybe get a couple of different element characters because they are stronger in different areas and unlock different things.
