Stopping BCP to TTC***Updates & Progress/Noted Changes Since Stopping BCP***24BFPs***

Bam i'd say you're looking pretty damn good for a +opk :) my Ov variation isn't nearly as awful as yours but I always keep a couple of digis laying about, if I think it's a + i'd test with one of them to make sure :) hope you get your BD on and that this is it for you !

That's my thoughts too Steph :) I gave up Fertilitea cuz they ran out of it but i'm going back on Evening Primroise Oil, for any girls having CM troubles I can swear by this thing, i've tried a lot of stuff and the ONLY cycle of the past 7 that I got any ewcm was when I took EPO religiously, and the only cycle i've had proper watery as opposed to milky watery was when I took EPO sporradically :) just my 2C!

Prachipie I think it should be correct, you've got a noticable shift in temps but like you say it's early days :) don't rely too much on FF in the first couple of months, it goes by the generic cycle and won't have learned your cycles yet :) I made that mistake and thought I was late the first cycle off BCP, turned out I didn't even Ov !

Welcome Steph!

I agree, bcp is truly awful! I feel like SUCH A FOOL for waiting till we ttc to come off it! :( here we are 7 months later hubby has already given up the hope of having kids and doesn't want to "try" cuz ttc is so damn un sexy and stressful :/ if it's this hard to get pg when trying then surely if we avoid the fertile patch post baby then we'll be fine right? Haha no no then we'll get pregnant just by looking at our partners! :haha:

Oh boy, rant over!

Thanks patienceiav! That's helpful to know FF isn't all that accurate the first couple of cycles. I figured as much, but haven't seen many false charts.

Re your previous post. Seriously hang in there. Maybe try to take the pressure off? DTD for the sake of fun and not babymaking? Like when you both know there's no chance of concieving so it is really about the two of you.

In just the past month I've seen how TTC can consume both of us (he sleepily asks me about my temp every morning even though I KNOW he doesn't understand anything about it). I've been trying to speculate less in front of him (do you think I ovulated?! do you think we could be expecting?!..etc), just to try and save him some agony. I know it is constantly on both of our minds, but I don't want this process to change the way view our physical relationship. Maybe that's inevietable though.

Sorry I've been a little absent ladies, but I want to say welcome, good luck and truck loads of baby dust to all the new ladies (as well as all the other followers!)

Wtbam-I'm so excited to see you have an almost +!!! I really hope this is it for you and your body starts behaving! Good for you on the GI diet too :)

Hey ladies, I wanted to ask if any of you experience this. Last cycle, and now I'm inclined to believe this one as well, the day of 0, I have felt very nauseous and sick to my stomach. You know that general yucky, upset stomach feeling and nothing gets rid of it. Last month, it was on the day of confirmed O and I've been having it since about 1:00 this afternoon as well (today is suspected O, but won't be certain til I see my temp shift). Anyways, onto Dr. Google and I see that a symptom of O, while not super common, can be nausea due to the increase in estrogen. I didn't put much credence to it, until I looked backed over my cycle notes and saw that it was the same last month. I have noticed that since quitting bcp, I have noticed my hormone fluctuations in the form of headaches, backaches and nausea. While not enjoying the feeling, it's nice knowing the signs to help confirm my charting.

Anyone else ever experience this?

Prachipie yeah I think I included hubby a little too much in the goings on, "i got my +opk so let's do it" I think for us ladies there's nothing sexier than making a baby but to the guys I think they prefer a little mystery :haha: so i'm not telling him about anything, i've stopped charting and am just using opk/ov microscope so he doesn't have to know what's going on, and no more "this is our last chance to make a baby this month" kinda stuff, neither of us need the pressure :) worked nicely last month except I feel super preggers every time in my 2ww (my boobs were literally on fire last month, I had to borrow his hands to cool me down all the time!)

I just tell him what he needs to know "it's good to save -the juices- just in case" "you don't wanna go down there right now" :haha: works so far ! Definitely took the pressure off both of us :)

Twinkie i've never had it at O, normally from the day of Ov I get sore boobs etc and get really nauseus and dizzy if I exercise/do any manual labour, except the past 2 cycles the sore boobs from ov have died down so I hope the BCP continues to get the hell out :D we're all different so it could just be an unfortunate normal thing for you, my absolute best cure for nausea is plain buttered toast and flat ginger ale, preferably old school mint candies if you can get hold of them :)

No temp rise this morning and opk back to negative after a positive looking one again last night, gutted. The opk's must have just been false positives due to my pcos :( so confused as in 4 months never seen them like that before but I guess this means the new meds/diet regime isn't working!

Good plan patienceaiv!

Don't give up wtbam! :) I'm positive your diet is helping might just take more time....:) I'm sorry...I'll admit I was kinda hoping I'd see 'something remotely close to O already because I want to blame Diane35 from last time...but I'm really getting nothing. Very very scant CM and my OPKs seem to just get fainter each day! Lol hang in there...:)

Thanks patienceiav! Now I want to go buy some mints because I haven't had them in forever. May have to go get some to have on hand just in case, thank you for the suggestion!!

Wtbam~I'm looking at your chart and I understand why you'd be upset, but there is still a chance for O. You can O up to 36 hours after your positive OPK, so there is still a chance for tomorrow. Even if it doesn't happen tomorrow, I'm taking it as a good sign that your body is at least trying to O, you haven't had any positives before now right?

Here is a question for EVERYONE-Since we've had some new ladies join lately, what is everyone's thoughts on updating the front page with all of us that are following along, what bcp we are coming off of and what cycle we are on with average # of cycle days. This thread is starting to get pretty big so it would be hard for any one new looking to see the different ladies cycle information on here and I know how desperately I wanted this info when I decided to quit, what does everyone else think on this?? If you want me to add it, just send me your info, so for me it would be

Twinkie2: BCP-Kariva(generic of Mircette); 5th cycle TTC since quitting Dec. '13; avg cycle length 28 days

Thoughts or suggestions? Lets help out other ladies in the same boat as us:thumbup:

Great idea Twinkie

Wtbam: BCP-Dianette; 1st cycle TTC since quitting Dec '13 (CD100+, suspected hormonal imbalance due to PCOS, periods regular 30 day cycle before the pill)

And thanks, I will cling on to hope I might see a rise tomorrow !

Good idea!

Prachipie - BCP-ortho lo/reg ortho (and it's generics); 1st cycle TTC; took last BCP in 2/28/14; unsure about cycle length

Well, got a negative on my HPT this morning. If FF is right that I ovulated on CD12 then it would be 14 DPO, so I feel like I'm out this cycle. Seems like most people get positives by now. I'm ok with it, the continued high temps make me think that O really did happen this cycle, which I know is very fortunate.

I'll be included! I don't post here a lot but I do follow this thread and I'm planning to keep updating about my cycles since I think it's such a great resource.

curiousowl - BCP: Levora and Portia (generics of Nordette) - 2nd cycle (TTC since Jan 2014) - 1st cycle anovulatory, 39 days

Fantastic idea!

Wnt2beAMom- bcp: ortho tri-cyclen. On 1st cycle, quit bcp march 20th.

Hi All - I have been following this thread and thought possibly some of you ladies could give me some advise.

I am confused! I have been having trouble having a regular cycle since coming off the BCP (dianne) since september 2013. Cycles have been 70days, 43days, and now I'm on day 85with no period yet.

I have a doctors appointment next week. I still do not know if I'm able to ovulate on my own and I just started using ovulation strips and since I'm so far into my cycles they have been pretty useless.

I know about drugs like clomid that both regular cycle and help ovulation but what Im wondering is is there something or some drug that can jump-start (for lack of better word) my period so that the drs are able to test at that time if I'm ovulating on my own?

Hope that made sense. Any help would be very much appreciated!!!

Hey girls, I am hoping you can help me out. When you are checking CM for all the different 'stages' through the cycle do you have to check internally and wouldn't even be able to tell if you didn't.....or can you tell what stage you are at just from wiping or your underwear?

By 'stage' I mean sticky, creamy, watery or EW.

On the pill I just always had creamy CM everyday and it would be noticeable on my underwear and when I'd wipe. Now I don't have hardly any when I wipe or in my underwear. But I'm noticing internally I had kinda watery CM today, compared to the last few days internally it has been kinda sticky I guess.

How do you check CM?

Hi Jean,

Ask your doctor about supplementing with Progesterone. (Provera, progestin, prometrium!). This is taken for a two weeks, which increases your progesterone levels. When you stop taking it, the drop in levels stimulates a period.

Wanttobe, I cant check my cm externally. Over the initial thoughts of 'no way can I do that!!' Checking it internally is easy now! Squat down on the floor and push your bum into your heels. Insert to fingers and gently swipe over and around the cervix - hey presto!

Well FF has given me solid crosshairs for 3 days ago but I dont agree... I havent had a temp rise! Argh!

OK well that is good to know then. I don't mind checking internally, I just thought it should be coming out and if not then I was considering it 'dry' status.thanks :)

One thing I've heard though is that you should check either internally or externally consistently, don't mix/compare the two. Sounds like internally will work for you!

wtbam-it looks like ff is basing it on your HW with ewcm for ovulation along with your positive OPK...maybe you did and you just don't have a large temp shift?? Not sure, very new to charting for myself!
