Summer Lovin'...bring us some babies!

floridasian your chart is looking good. I had a really big dip yesterday. I believe isn't may be because I went to bed really late. I think we finally made it to bed at midnight, when we usually go to bed at 9 or 10.

Do you have a test date in mind?

So, 7 were mature and 3 fertilized. Transfer is Friday at 1pm...hoping they all make it.

FBG - your chart is still looking good. I wouldn't worry about that tiny little dip. Like you said, it was probably caused by going to bed late.

I, on the other hand, would not read too much into my temps at this point now that I'm on progesterone supplement. I'm still confused on my o date but I think I'll be testing on Friday when I'm anywhere between 9 and 11 DPO. If there is still no BFP by Sunday morning then I'll stop the progesterone.

When do you plan on testing?

I don't know when I should test. I really just want to wait until af time and when she doesn't show have a nice surprise with dark lines, but reality is I will probably test 8DPO bc that is usually when I start. I would like to test Thursday since I don't work and dh will be home until the 845. Hmmm decisions decisions... maybe this weekend if I can wait.

moni77 - 3 fertilized, that sounds great! I bet you can't wait until Friday. :)

Hey ladies! It's cd31 and nothing to indicate that I O this cycle:( no positive opk or temp rise at all. I want to get the ball rolling on my next medicated cycle. So should I call my REs office and ask for provera to make AF show? I don't want another 50 some day cycle again.

Hope all is well with everyone else and the pregnant ladies!

FuturebabyG and Floridasian your charts look great!

Misaacs since your Sig says you deal with anovulation, it seems like that might be occurring this cycle. I know all about long cycles and they're terrible. Maybe you should go ahead and kickstart a cycle.

AFM - huge dip yesterday but no sign of AF, not even a spot. Woke up today to her appearing with fury. I again remember why I was so happy she never showed up, way back in my young and naive days.
I feel horrible, but I'm really happy there was no spotting. I'm beginning to think CD25 was the day, even with the symptom changes on CD22.

Oh and I met with my doctor yesterday. She wanted me to move up to 100mg but I refused and insisted on monitored cycles. She referred me to a gyno who should be able to do so.
Our plan is to get hubby tested again in a month just before my appt. If his SA has improved enough we will do a monitored clomid, if not we will give it a month or two to see if they improve before deciding next steps.
Since my body is responding to the Clomid, our only issue is swimmer quality, and if we can wait and see improvement then Id rather do that and save the expense of an RE.

Michelle - I don't know about Provera to induce AF but I would definitely contact your doctor to see what he/she says about your situation. Good luck!!

minuet - sorry about AF. Are you going to continue on 50 mg of Clomid or nothing at all this cycle?

Minuet what dose did you start with on clomid. I am starting Clomid in september with iui. I just don't know what to expect yet. My MD has also said I will do progesterone with the clomid. Any recommendations or warnings?

FBG (just updated on the other thread too so sorry if I am all over you...lol) - I was on 50 mg of clomid when I started. It was prescribed to me as a boost to my normal egg quality & ovulation. I would suspect you would be on a similar dose since you O on your own. Typically clomid is used to make women O. Good luck!

Beaglemom- Thank you. I don't mind if you are "all over me." I need all the recommendations, advise, words of wisdom and support I can get. I never thought I would have to go through IUI since i have had positive hpts, but I was wrong.

Ok I called my REs office and kind of got in trouble since I still took my femara/letrozole and was unmonitored. But they can't do anything about it now lol. She said to wait through the weekend to see if Af shows and if not then get a prescription for prometrium (I think) for 10 days. It is whatever I had last time to start my period. Its progesterone, so it will trick my body into thinking I did O when really I didn't. Then AF will show shortly after I stop the pills.
This just sucks... makes me think my body is becoming like immune to the letrozole since I didn't O this cycle and last monitored IUI I only had 1 follie. Or I am just freaking out for no reason lol. Anyone every hear of someone becoming immune to letrozole? I have been on it almost every month (only missed one due to surgery) for 6 months.

FBG - I have way too much info on IUIs! I hope they work for you. I am waiting to start IVF.

Michelle, I also did femara on my month off. If they want to restrict us, don't give us refills! I actually considered doing it the next couple months since I have refills, but I don't think it will help. The follistim is what helped me with follicles. I O on my own anyways.

For anyone doing IUI, if you think you can work it into your budget, I would seriously suggest adding a follicle stimulant. It is what helped me get 3 - 4 mature follies. Still didn't help me, but I am dealing with the lower count. So you may want to ask your dr what they think about injectables. Just my advice.

I spoke with my MD about the injectable FSH, but doesn't think it's a good option at this time. Only because I ovulate every cycle and clomid can increase the number of eggs and so can the injectables. She doesn't want me to end up with more than twins. Clomid can give us twins and injectables could potentially give us triples. She said it could also increase my chances of miscarriage. Since I already have a history of mc i don't know yet if i am ready for the injectables.

Beagle I know! I used then up! The nurse said that it is a "health risk" because what if I am pregnant. I was like I have taken like 6 different tests and all neg. So don't worry about that. She then said she would let me off the hook. I also called a new OBGYN to schedule a regular PAP and maybe some testing for PCOS. Well, I felt like crying after that phone call because I was so frustrated! First they put me on hold forever then someone came back to the phone then told me to hold again. Then someone came to the phone and was getting my information and then hung up. So had to call back again and sit on hold. Then the lady wasn't very pleasant and I told her what doctor I wanted and she said that wouldn't be possible for a MONTH! I then said I need someone dealing with infertility and asked if she could recommend a good OB for that. She said well all have experience with infertility and if they can't do anything else they can recommend you to someone. So I replied well I am already seeing an RE. Thanks for the help...NOT! I also told her that I can't get there until after 4 and she replied in a snobby voice we don't do new patient appointments that late. The latest is 3:45. UGH!!! So I might try another office further away. It is my stepmoms OB and she loves her. Why do I have such crappy luck with OBs?!

minuet - sorry about AF. Are you going to continue on 50 mg of Clomid or nothing at all this cycle?

More info than you probably want to know, but...
This cycle I'm just doing myo-inositol. There are a lot of study abstracts on Pubmed about it's success in inducing cycles/ovulation in ladies with PCOS.
I actually discovered this last summer, but my doctor had me take metformin so I forgot about it until recently when cleaning out my vitamin drawer. This spring I dropped the metformin and switched to a low carb diet, and recent blood work showed that my insulin was WAY better on diet change than it was on the metformin! So no more metformin - it never did help me cycle anyway and the GI effects are terrible.
Myo-inositol helps your cells with responding to insulin, and they have found that PCOS ladies don't utilize their stores of it correctly. Studies showed that by supplementing with the inositol, the PCOS ladies had a great improvement in insulin levels, which dropped testosterone levels and allowed them to spontaneously resume ovulation and cycling.
I'm really hopeful that with already improved insulin levels, the inositol will be all my body needs to get insulin back where it should be, and resume normal cycling. It can take a couple months to see a result, but I'm still hoping that Clomid will have "kickstarted" me and the inositol will be all I need to ovulate this month.
But we'll see, I won't be heartbroken if there's no big O this month. :)

I love to share information that can help people, so hopefully there's some ladies with PCOS who can read and benefit from this. :)

You should definitely start with the lowest dose possible, usually 50mg. If you already ovulate on your own you just want a little boost from the Clomid. I'm glad your doctor will do progesterone support!
I know you're doing IUI, have you had your husband's sperm tested? You should use Preseed for BDing around the IUI, as cervical fluid tends to not be the greatest on Clomid.
Beaglemom knows a ton about IUIs, unfortunately. :( So she should have some great insight into that aspect of your upcoming cycle.
And a warning: If you get a bfn, be prepared for a rough period, Clomid is known for making it unpleasant.

Oh! And I forgot to mention. I found a fascinating discussion on a study involving myo-inositol and IVF. They found that ladies who supplemented with inositol before IVF had much better quality eggs, and went on to have more pregnancies than those without supplementing.
This was any woman, not just ladies with PCOS. They found that your follicle fluid is full of inositol, and those ladies who had more inositol in the fluid had better quality eggs.

Beaglemom, maybe this is something that could help you with the IVF? I didn't dig much deeper into it, but maybe there is some more research out there about it, or your RE would know about it?
