~~The May 2011 Roller Uppers~~

Congrats Meme, lovely pics! Did you have a blue / pink preference?

Well I had my growth scan today (because of the diabetes), baby is bang on track, measuring as she should which is good but now the next thing is she is breech!! Aaarrrghh, give me a break!!

And the woman doing the scan was a total cow aswell, one of those in dire need of a customer service course.

Zomo...glad baby is growing well, but she better switch her little tushie around!!!

Hope everyone is well! Nothing really new to share here. I'm starting to push my hubby to start thinking NAMES!!! :)

Mine was breech when I've had my last 3 scans. And I still feel kicks low so I guess she hasn't turned yet. Next scan at 32 weeks, hopes she's turned by then!!

Don't worry about the breech plenty of time for baby to turn yet! Glad the scan went well zomo did they explain the gd to you and the implications? Any questions? How have your blood sugars been?

Zomo.. my hubby was team blue of course... we already have two girls 5 and 3... I was team blue for him... but me and my girls were really all about team girl... the doc made me guess before I told... I said I was going with my girls on team pink.. he said your right... :).. I would have been happy either way really.... but my poor hubby will need some nephew time here and there over the years. .. we have lots of nephews... they love him so it works out great.

Hey Steph,

Yep I got loads of info on the GD at the hospital, the nurse went through it for about 45 mins with me. I have been testing 4 times a day on every other day for a week now, alternating days for testing before meals and testing after. All the tests (except the very first one which was high) have been well within normal range of between 3.5 - 7.1 so the hospital are really pleased. I havent really had to do much at all to amend my diet as it wasnt dreadful before although it has made me more aware of what I am stuffing in there!! I have a meeting with the consultant, diabetic nurse and midwife next week so see what they think.

That sounds great zomo! I had a couple of high episodes in the first week till i realised 1 how much hidden sugar there was in rice krispies and even if i stick sweetner on the top it still sends my blood sugar spiking and 2. To eat carbs and protein together to help balance my levels. So rather than just a slice of toast for brekkie to have some cheese or ham on it really helps.

When is your next growth scan? Don't worry too much about the measurements they can be a good 1lb off the mark each way. Have they discussed induction at 38 weeks? How do you feel about that? X

Just wanted to say a hello to all the lovely ladies on here.xxx

I think it may have been an additional mullerlight which sent me sailing on the high result as taking that out and just having the weetabix and canderel meant my levels stayed good. I read somewhere else about eating protein and carbs together, I have had good results when doing this so will continue.

The nurse did say about the possibility of induction at 38 weeks which would be fine with me. My water birth possibility has gone out the window so am resigned to just getting on with it normally! I will wait and see what they say at the clinic appointment next week as she was talking about it to me before the baby scan had shown baby was growing right on track and after my blood levels had settled. Is it routine for them to want to induce anyway just because of borderline GD or do you think they will leave it full term (but not overdue)?

Well when they told me about induction and i kicked off they did say if scans showed normal growth and sugars were stable they 'would' let me go to 40 weeks! At the end of the day it is your body and your baby zomo and they can advise you but if you don't want an induction (and think carefully because it is not as straightforward as it sounds and can lead to increased risk of c section) then you can refuse! In the end my waters went at 36 weeks so i never got to the very end but i doubt i would have gone through with induction unless the baby was in distress or was growing massively off the scale.

Hope everyone is well! :flower: I don't post much here, but I read all the time.

Zomo - I can't believe you're almost 31 weeks! Awesome! Sorry to hear about the GD though :(

Thought I'd update on my situation. I went to the doctor yesterday and met with the fertility specialist. I'm having an HSG done this afternoon, and a SA for DH when we can find the time to do it. If I don't get pregnant this cycle, he's putting me on Clomid next cycle. I'm pretty excited to have a plan, and a doctor that being so proactive for me.

That's about it - hoping for good news in the New Year now!

Hurrah for you amy! I hope that with a little help you will soon get your bfp and your very own 2012 special delivery! :hugs:

Tweak, that's awesome about the FS. I hope all the testing brings good results and you have a BFP very soon!

Tweak, great news that things are moving forward for you, fxd for that bfp.
Xxx

Thanks ladies! It was more painful then I thought it would be. But, it was over quick. Right tube was fine, but the left took some time to get the dye through. Doctor had to push more in to get some flowing. Hoping it just cleared out that tube, so I'll be good to go now.

Well tweak a long time ago now and after she had had me my mum tried for another baby for 7 years with no luck. She was eventually investigated for secondary fertility and had a hsg and got pregnant the very next cycle with my brother even though there were no obvious blockages! Good luck to you x

Thanks Steph, that makes me hopeful!!

Tweak~great to hear you have a plan.

I was induced with Joey b/c they didn't want me to go past 40 weeks w/ my hypertension. My BP was fine throughout the pregnancy....I think this time I would like to do things the natural way (w/ an epidural of course), but I want my body and baby to be ready to "come out" this time. I pushed with Joey for 2.5 hours and it was hell!

Great news from the Dr. yesterday...my OH and I, along with his family have a trip to the Dominican Republic in March. We will leave when I am 36 weeks and return when I'm 37weeks. Dr. said as long as my airline will let me fly (Delta apparently has no restrictions at this time), she sees no problem with me going! YEAH!!!!

Still puking here...this past week I had a virus that was not fun, and wednesday I had a 24 hour headache...but I'm still getting sick w/out having a virus as well. Maybe one day...

Got all my xmas presents wrapped though! house looks pretty! :)

Hope everyone is feeling well!
