~~The May 2011 Roller Uppers~~

girl next door- I actually have a support belt on the way .. ordered from US to canada so it will be another week getting here.. i am depending on it to help.
I find the worst times for me.. absolutely excruciating pain... is when I sit on a hard surface..wood floors or a wooden chair and then get up to wal i can hardly separate my legs.. they cease to function. Grocery shopping is awful.. good for you ordering groceries!!!
I actually have crutches.. my husbands crutches.. he tends to be a clutz and has his own pair.. LOL. however my mom has this atm as she is stuck at home with a broken ankle/foot/leg. I cant very well request them back right now. Lol... she actually uses a walker instead but they are there for an option for her in case. I also have to do her grocery shopping which has been killing me. Thankfully she has a housekeeper already so i do not have to help her with that.

Thank you for all your help!!!! I feel better you have self diagnosed yourself... i have done the same as it has to be it!!!!!!!!!!
This is my 3rd pregnancy that has come to this stage and this is the ONLY time I have ever felt this pain. I am glad i am not alone although I wish no one this pain.:/

glad you are alomost out of the woods though... they say when I read onlie it is magically gone after birth for most people. i knwo my siatic nrver thign in my back last time was gone almost imidiately after birth.

thanks so much off to my greys anatomy now!!!
Yeah, I am not sure it matters if you have a true diagnosis of it or not because there isn't much to do except rest. Like I said, I did physio for it with my son and it really didn't help, and I also saw a chiropractor which might have helped a tiny bit but not enough to get me to go back this time

It is miserable at its worst, but I have found it to be manageable if I can force myself to stay off my feet and do almost no walking. It is frustrating because I have so much I want to do, but I just can't be in agony all the time.

Can you convince your OH to carry the groceries in from the car for you at least? I have found that the shopping part is not as bad, but carrying anything while walking creates a LOT of pain for me. For my next week groceries, instead of delivery, I'm going to try getting all my groceries on the weekend, but making DH carry them to the house for me.

Hopefully your mom recovers quickly so you don't have to keep helping her with that. I can't imagine having to do all of that.

Good luck Fizzio!!!!! Hope its all over for you soon and you have a lovely baby in your arms :)

Mememe, I have suffered dreadfully with my pelvis. I was referred to physio but they finally gave me an appointment for today - 10 days before she is due! I thought I have gone nearly 39 weeks, I can probably last another ten days. I already hyper extend which means my joints are floppy by normal standards, I have had the most horrific pain when trying to move or get up from a lying position and horrendous aching in whichever hip I am lying on at the time. The popping in my joints has been so loud it has woken my partner up, and I have screamed out at some points. I need his help sometimes to even get to a sitting position and have trouble lifting my legs. I also feel a really tight pinching like the pelvic bone has fused between my legs. I have also had shooting pains from the top of my legs straight up through my bum to the back of the pelvic bone which has caused my legs to collapse under the pain. It has been agony for weeks but it has actually eased off somewhat this week. If I ever get pregnant again the very first thing I will ask for is a physio referral. Nothing has helped me except the opposite of you and Girl Next Door and I have to sit cross legged (with my legs wide open rather than knees crossed) or with my legs wide apart to ease the pressure. Its not very ladylike!!!!

I have had another crisis today. Had a load of pain last night, it was excrutiating but only lasted a minute or so, right across under my ribs. It felt like she was lengthways. I told my midwife today and she had a good feel around and it looks like the little sod has flipped back to breech overnight!!!!! Aaarrgghh!!!!!!!! Got an emergency presentation scan tomorrow morning and the midwife says she could even be c-sectioned out by the end of the week if she is breech now. I dont know if I am coming or going anymore!!

Oh no zomo the little sod! Hope if she has turned so late she has room to do it again! Still end of the week hun...:happydance::baby:

She is a trouble maker, even the midwife said she is a pain in the bum!!! Breech until 36+2 weeks, flips, then probably flipped again at 38+3 weeks, little monster. I dont wanna play this game anymore :( !!!!

I dont know how I feel about a caesarian any longer. I was so used to the idea with her being breech for so long that I was quite happy with it. Then she flipped 2 weeks ago and I have got used to and happy with the idea of a conventional delivery, now that I may be going back to the caesarian it isnt as appealing!! I guess this is all out of my hands anyway now, the ball is in her court and I just have to go with the flow!

I am trying to stop stressing until my scan tomorrow at 9am when I will know one way or the other. I think the scariest thing at the moment is not knowing whats going on and that she could suddenly be here in a few days by c-section.

I like your names Emma, Anna and Brooke, I may be biased with Zoey (although mine is spelled Zoe). A good thing with Zoe is that there are very few nasty nicknames that can be made out of it, it doesnt rhyme with anything bad (expect my OH calls me 'Zomo the Homo' to wind me up) and the worst in the playground was Bozo!! I came across Annia the other day, my OH didnt like Anya but he was watching Spartacus and suddenly became inspired by roman names and I looked up latin names and liked Annia and he considered that one!

Woody.. love the name Libby. :)

Zomo... I did not know ur name was Zoe.... that is totally awesome. I was thinking of adding the y BC people wouldn't call her zo instead of Zoey.... Zoey like Joey.... where do u live isit a popular name there? Were u ever called zo instead of Zoe?
I am in Canada and although it is not highly popular I think people would call her correctly with Zoe.. but not sure.....the only thing turning me off the name is my hubby is a big no on the name and I met a man named Zoe a couple weeks ago.... wtf? Excuse the curse.. ;)

Oh I hope that Annia flips back around... my everything's are crossed for u. My sis in law actually had her baby flipped for her by two specialise once..... not recommended she said it was very painful.
Love your name Annia.... :)
This ones middle name will be Ann I think. Not if first name was Anna though lol.

Zoe isnt a very common name in the UK. Its not unusual as such but you dont tend to hear it a lot. Having said that, there are 3 of us at work and we are always mixed up on email - it seems people search for our first name and never bother to learn the surname as they dont expect more than one of us!!

I have had my name spelled all sorts of whacky ways including Zooey, Zowie, Zoey, Zoie.... There are a few people that have prounounced it Zo from the spelling as I guess Zoe looks like Joe. All my close friends call me Zo anyway, its just annoying when strangers do it as it feels over familiar. I think adding the 'y' would definitely stop that happening.

I have never ever heard of a male Zoe, thats a new one on me!!!

I liked either Annia or Niamh (pronounced Neve) as a middle name but OH decided last night it will be Niamh which I adore. Its funny though he was a flat no on Anya but tweaking the spelling to Annia made him like it!! We have decided (finally) on Ember-Mae as the first name. In all honesty I am not sure if she needs a middle name with a hyphenated first name as it seems a bit of a mouthful but its the only way to get my first choice name of Niamh in there!! I guess we will decide when she gets here :happydance:

Zomo... the man named Zoe I met was o I the phone not in person so it makes mewonder about the true nature of this person.... rofl.
I love your names..... they are wonderful... I l o v e Ember.. it is unique and fabulous and with Mae it is wonderful. :)

Hi Ladies - I am soooooo fed up. Been contracting now for 27 hours!! But has been stop and start. Been 3 mins apart to 10 mins apart. Seen at the hospital this afternoon due to reduced baby movement - all was well. She did a sweep (ouch ouch ouch) and said I was 1cm dilated. Sent home with Co-codamol and not to go back until contractions 3-5 mins apart. She said I may meet the baby by breakfast time or it could be a few days. A FEW DAYS - I'm knackered already having had no sleep since Sunday night. Trying to stay as active as possible but getting harder as so tired now. They said they wont induce me - it is times like this I wish I was in the US - you ladies there seem to be given more of a helping hand.

Any ideas to speed this up??

ZoMo - what a naughty baby you have. Good luck tomorrow. Love Ember as name, we are considering Amber if a girl.

Aw, sorry it hasn't progressed, Fizzio. I have no idea how to help things along. Maybe walking around?

Fizzio~That sounds so uncomfortable! I'm sorry hun! I'm also sorry they are leaving in the dust per say and not doing more for you! I'm glad they at least checked on the baby, and you can be at peace knowing that baby is okay! I hope you have baby by morning! I remember one lady on here saying that every time she took a shower her contractions would stop (she wanted them to stop as she was too early). Also, I know people take a bath to ease the pain in active labor, but they recommend baths to slow labor down when it's unwanted...so stay away from water :) Otherwise, I really have nothing for you. Walk up and down stairs? Have an orgasm? Nipple stimulation?
Hope there's good news when I wake up tomorrow!

Zomo~ what a little stinker! Hope baby flips again!

Sorry to hear it Jen, try to rest as much as poss. Drink RLT, walk and bounce on a ball to get him/her down low on the cervix.xx

Fizzio, this seems to have started for me too. I'm not sure if they are real contractions or BH, but they start and stop. I was contracting almost the whole day yesterday, and then most of the night again. Then, nothing :dohh:

Aww Fizzio hope that baby hurries up for you, sounds like he / she is in no hurry to come out, you must be knackered!!!!!

Went for presentation scan today, baby is head down, she has been playing (painful!) games with us all. Even the doctor couldnt really find her head down there during the physical feel around despite having seen it on the scan (so I know it is still attached lol!) and said she can see how the midwife thought she had maybe found a bum but that it felt a bit empty in the pelvis. Looks like she is going to be a trouble baby!! So back to the conventional delivery plan!! For now....!!!

Thankyou ladies for the compliments on our chosen name Ember-Mae, only took us 38.5 weeks to agree on it!!! Fizzio, Amber was my first word :) - it was the name of our red setter, she was beautiful :) we considered it as a name too.

Zomo .. yeah for head down.

Fizzio... I was the same as u with my last baby... I bounced on a ball. During thethe night and then went for a long walk the nexthe day until I could hardly move... this was not far.... my water broke about 30 mins later. Just keep moving.. all movement helps caprrry things along... my fingers are crossed u have a baby by tomorrow.:)

Still here and no baby :( Went to the hosp last night as ? waters had broken but no. Baby is engaged but is lying back to back and the midwife reckons it's head is on an angle and can't push down enough on my cervix to push me into established labour. She reckons I need to try and turn baby wuth my positioning but to be fair I have been using the positions she mentioned for the last month and baby not moved. They still wont get involved until I'm exhausted - funnily enough I'm kinda there already - 50 hours of contractions 6-10 mons apart isn't a breeze. Right now a C-section seems quite tempting! Despite being adamant I would not want one (I have seen the protracted recovery in my job as a physio) but right now I wonder where I will now find the energy and the coping mechansisms for the pain when it comes to second stage labour.

Ah Jenn :hugs:

I have no ideas but it must be frustrating exhausting and emotional right now.

Sending you massive :hugs: and loads of labour :dust:

XxX

Zomo, brilliant news on lo turning. You are so close now!

Jen-wow you've been going for ages-how can they not think you're exhausted! Have they checked you again? Any progress? Other than hands and knees to get baby to swivel I've no idea but sounds like you've been doing that. Do you have a ball you can bounce on?
Hope they help you out soon.xxx
