Well the first time I got a positive was Thursday night and Friday morning and then it was negative on saturday when I had that minor cramping and then sunday negative too, and then I did it yesterday and it was positive and then today its soo dark, darker than I have ever seen it for any cycle lol. So Im 5 DPO now from that first "ovulation" or whatever it was. But is it possible to ovulate from both days apart? I read that it might happen within 24 hours but I think they were talking about the same ovulation, Im talking a totally different one. Also what is the deal with LH and pregnancy? I read that it was around until enough HCG started pumping to help sustain the pregnancy. Maybe my LH is on overdrive until the HCG kicks in? Does anyone have any information on OPKs during early pregnancy and LH during early pregnancy? I know its around all the time and you have those surges for ovulation but what about once ovulation is over and LH has gone away for a bit, would it start back if my body new I was preggie to keep it going?

3. Luteal phase: this covers the time from ovulation through the next menstrual period. Following ovulation the follicle that released the ovum closes and becomes the corpus luteum. LH sustains the corpus luteum until, in the event of pregnancy, it is supported by hCG. Increased production of estrogen and progesterone follow. Both hormones prepare the endometrium for the implantation of a fertilized egg.

If pregnancy does not occur: the corpus luteum regresses, the hormone levels of progesterone and estrogen go back down, and the breakdown of the endometrium causes menstrual bleeding. The corpus luteum will last 10 to14 days and then die.

If pregnancy does occur, the corpus luteum begins to produce hCG. This hormone stimulates the corpus luteum, preventing it from dying in early pregnancy. The corpus luteum produces estrogen and progesterone in the early part of the pregnancy, and is therefore vital for maintaining that pregnancy. Later, these hormones will be produced by the placenta. Therefore, if the corpus luteum does not function early on, the uterine lining will not support a pregnancy. Menstruation will occur and the pregnancy will miscarry. hCG is produced by the placenta in pregnancy, specifically by what is called the trophoblast of the chorionic villi. Levels are higher in the first trimester and then decrease as other hormones take over the job of protecting the embryo and, later, the fetus.


That bold part is what Im thinking about? Possible? Cause right now Im at the pre-implantation stage to possible earliest implantation so maybe there is no HCG yet so the LH is just in high gear and presenting still on an OPK?? And Im super gassy and bloated, it hurts and its like high up and wont come out lol...not even gonna say "sorry TMI" coz I know we are all past that with each other lol...and apparently thats the #2 symptom for 5 dpo : Abdomen: Gassy[Experienced by 15.6% of pregnant women] also headaches a lot lately.

LH sustains the corpus luteum until, in the event of pregnancy, it is supported by hCG. I read it as LH sustains it until hCG starts. But I know it says both hormones prepare it, but I think it's more LH works in the beginning then hCG takes over.

So I'm wondering about how crazy it would be to test tomorrow. I got some test that have "high sensitivity" and said you can start testing 6-8 days after conception. Saturday was ovulation, and I'm going to assume conception (since that little egg was only alive that day). Tomorrow will be 6DPO. I'm trying to convince myself to wait until saturday. I know most people said they didn't even get a faint line until 10dpo, tuesday, but I'm hoping these tests are sensitive enough to pick it up earlier... I know I'll be getting negatives, just don't know if I'd be able to keep my spirits up, but I'm getting super impatient. Sorry for the rant.

lol...how many do you have? If you have more than one I would use one tomorrow morning and then if its negative make yourself wait until Monday morning so you dont waste them and give your HCG time to build up...I did another OPK just now coz I read somewhere that early morning for them isnt good for whatever reason. Its still as dark as before. I have 10 left I think and I'll prolly take one every day to see how long it stays this way so I can have more info to take to my gyno if need be... you need to do a ovulation ticker so we can all see where you are lol...

I'm a nurse practitioner, not a doctor - but I will tell you that NONE of this is my thing - LH, FSH, HCG, bah. Hate the whole GYN field. Plus, I'm an infectious disease specialist, so the only GYN issues I deal with are raging STDs. NO FUN!
I got my crosshairs today on FF for the first time - it's pegging my O day as the 12th. So I'm apparently 3dpo? Stupid OPKs NEVER went positive for me. Which at the same time, sets my crazy mind into high gear, like "OMG, maybe I'm anovulatory!" Great, let's stress me out some more!
Stomach just feels weird. I'm *exhausted* today, but I slept like hell last night - fell asleep at 1130, up again at 1, wide awake, couldn't fall asleep. Sleep at 230, up at 520, 545, 620...Don't usually have that problem.

On another note, one of my best friends had her baby today. She was the fourth of my friends in the last two months (and they wonder why I have baby fever!). I can't wait to go see her next week and squeeze the baby.
