Ttc #1

I PM'd you yesterday. I'll just ask you on here? How are you doing? Does it feel the same this time around? Are you guys waiting to tell people?

Due to O any day now for the 7th time around! Hoping for a late Christmas gift. :winkwink: Trying to BD as much as possible this week, while avoiding wearing out/nagging my DH (he has a kidney stone :nope:).
In other news, feeling a bit discouraged as we just heard of another dear friend's pregnancy. Excited for them but fighting the jealousy. Have to trust that God is faithful and good and His timing is perfect. Finding that conception really is a miracle and He is control of the womb. Lots of babydust to you all!! :dust:

Syd - I'm the same as you! We will be in the TWW together. I've committed to no early testing. yay! It's nice to have a person in the same boat.

I met a former co-worker today and she's 8 weeks pregnant with #2. I just keep reminding myself that children are a blessing no matter what!

Poor husband. Kidney stones are extremely painful. Big props to him for BDing anyway.

nmpjcp2015 -- Yay! When are you due to O? And when is the earliest you'll test? It's always easier when there's someone else at the same stage. :flower:

I know, he's been such a trooper. It helps that he wants a baby as bad as/if not more than me. Also, BDing helps take his mind off the pain for a bit. :winkwink:

Here's for a Christmas BFP and a September due date!! :dust:

No early testing ladies...I'll be here to help you. It's just too upsetting to see the negative. I said I wouldn't symptom spot and test early, and I did...and it was not fun.

I am not sure when I O'd, but af was supposed to come on a Tuesday. I tested Sunday, Monday...then had nothing on Tuesday. Didn't test Wednesday either. But I did test Thursday (all negatives so far). I thought I was 3 days late at that point, but still nothing. I finally caved on Friday and bought a good test, and got the FAINTEST line ever... So 4 days late? I was so confused because I thought I was late, but I think I just O'd later (we dtd on Saturday night, so I think that's when it happened). So technically, 14 days after that would have been Sat/Sun. Someone said I had a temp dip that day, but I didn't really notice it. Anyways....testing early is not fun.

Resist the POAS urge haha

I also have a pregnant coworker who sits in my office. We're always talking about babies and I try not to turn into a green monster lol. AF is almost gone.

I was upset this week because I heard someone say they wanted to have an abortion because they didn't want kids. I hate hearing those things knowing that there are so many women that would love and care for any kid even if not their own! So many women that can't have babies in this world and so many women that can and just choose to get rid of them. They have no clue what blessing they are giving up... It just pushes all my buttons when I hear these things.

on a happier note, good luck to you ladies! hope you can have your BFPs for Christmas!! It must be exciting to share that news with family over the holidays. Baby dust to Syd and nmpjcp2015 !! :dust:

Syd - My TWW starts tomorrow, and I'm going to test on the 24th or 25th. I can't decide. My period is due the 24th, so I'm thinking of waiting until Christmas morning. That will make it ~15DPO and if I get a :bfp: it will be the best Christmas ever! Hahaha!

I think we are going to continue to BD for a couple more days just to make sure I don't ovulate late or anything. I'm kinda sketchy that today is the day even though I've been having ovulation pains since yesterday afternoon.

DON'T TEST EARLY. I agree, it's not worth it. It enough to ruin your WHOLE day! Let's just stay busy and not symptom spot and wait until we are late (or right on time).

babydust, I agree. I also know a person like that and it's her 3rd time! I just can't be associated with her anymore. That level of irresponsibility is astounding to me. :growlmad::growlmad:

Sunshine, thanks for sharing that because a lot of people seem to get their BFP really early which is discouraging to those who test early expecting the same result!

How exciting!!! :baby::baby::baby::baby::baby:

sunshine, I need tips on how to keep track of temps and O date. I'm terrible at this lol. I never find the time to research on this and would actually prefer someone with experience to tell me what's the best way. :)

I feel like each cycle I spend the first couple of weeks thinking oh no pressure, I don't really care. Blah, blah, blah, but starting the day after ovulation the script totally flips. Lol. Whyyyyyyy? :dohh::winkwink::wacko:

I seriously need a hobby that's specifically designed for two week waits. Have any of you guys shared with friends or family that you're TTC. We haven't so it's kind of like having a quiet agony.

Okay...so temping!!!! That's what I did... Do you wake up at the same time every day? Because that's crucial. IT's technically better if you've already done it for a month, so you have data to compare...but hey, who cares! :)

So I wake up at 6:30 every day and I would take my temp, before you do anything at all. Leave it next to your bed. Start tomorrow if you have a bbt. You need a basal body thermometer because it adds an extra degree for accuracy. So, temp every day and record it. I used an app, I'll look it up when I get my phone out of my purse later.

Your temp during af should be high (I believe, but I don't think mine was much different, so who knows)... then it will be up and down like a bit (say 97.83, then the next day 97.79, then 97.80 etc). That's pretty normal. You will see a drop around when you O...so if you happen to know the day you think you ovulate, you should be able to notice the drop. The day after it will go shooting back up. I believe mine went to 98.06 or something.

It will continue to do its fluctuation thing, but nothing major....until the end of your cycle. If AF is about to come, there will be a big, noticable (and saddening) drop. I had this the first month. The second month, my temp stayed elevated,...so I knew it was a good sign.

I will say...I loved the accuracy of temping, it was amazing to be able to see what was happening and watch it stay up, even before I got my bfp. It reall made me believe I was going to get a bfp.

BUT...it can be stressful. Waking up at the same time, 3 hours of sleep before temping etc.

Wow...just realized I type exactly how I talk. Sorry ladies haha

nmpjcp2015, I relate to you in every way! Glad I'm not the only one. Probably because we know for a fact that before O there's no chance we could be prego but after O there's always the increasing hope/worry that "we're prego!" or "what if we missed it?" or "Is this a symptom?!"

I've talked to a few friends at church about their struggles TTC, which has been great cuz they understand. And my older sister and brother in law are in the same place (though a bit longer and serious than us...trying since February, on Clomid, etc) so they know. Other than that, trying to keep it quiet so we can surprise them!

TODAY has been a busy day and it's still not over. If I can keep up this pace, two weeks will fly by!

Syd, suprises are so much fun, but I'm glad you have another couple to share your journey with. It's such a blessing to have a person to vent to who UNDERSTANDS what you're going through.

In health class they made getting pregnant seem so very easy!!!

What have you guys done health wise while trying to conceive?

Do you take a prenatal vitamin, avoid caffeine and alcohol etc?

I just took prenatal vitamins...I kept drinking my wine for as long as I could lol

And even now I'm having a hard time cutting back caffeine. I stick to one a day.

I've just been taking prenatals since May. Don't typically drink very much caffeine anyway, and have never had any kind of alcohol or smoked. Being active is my struggle! Especially when it's so cold outside... :cold:

Today is CD 20 and still waiting for that temp spike. Want the TWW to start already! Waiting for the TWW makes it even longer.

Sydfreeman how long are your cycles? Your temp spikes after you O so make sure you're Bding lots now! :)

Hey ladies, my husband and I are relatively new to the TTC scene. After several months of BFNs I decided I would jump online and join some forums to get a sense of community in this period of our lives. We moved away from family and friends for the hubby's job and so we're having to go through TTC by ourselves. How long has everyone been trying thus far?

They've been regularly irregular if that makes any sense, coming anywhere from 33 to 42 days... pretty sure my LP is 16-17 days. So with today being CD 21 if I O today that means this month will be at least 37 days long. Won't plan to test til CD 40, which will be January 2nd. Goodness, hate this math.

We have been BDing a lot this week hoping to catch that pesky egg when it comes!

Welcome, Dannibelle!:hi: It does help tremendously to have a place to vent and to talk to other women who can relate to what you're feeling. How long have you been trying? My husband and I are in the middle of cycle 7.
