US - new season of 16 & Pregnant

Ladies, we all have to remember that 16 & pregnant is filmed over a longer period of time, then all the footage is cut up and the most dramatic parts are kept. So it looks like one huge drama fest, but I'm sure it's been drawn out somehow.

Also, a lot of the drama on the show isn't unbelievable. I know that teenage relationships elevate from the stupidest fights to the most tear filled screaming and shouting matches. A lot of girls who become pregnant are from broken homes as well or low income homes (not all though). Not everyone has a perfect family life and many families have unfit parents.

MTV also interviews these girls and IMO they try to have a variety of mothers. Maci from Teen Mom I feel is one of the most responsible while Jennelle from Teen Mom 2 is one of the worst.

The reason that the FOBs are usually portrayed as deadbeats is because this unfortunately is the case a lot. Especially when it comes to a 16 year old boy. There is a reason they play the same scenarios over and over....it usually IS the same scenario. The point of the show is that it's much harder to be a teen parent because you are struggling at the point of reaching your maturity while caring for a baby.

EDIT: I really love the 16 & Pregnant shows and Teen Mom1&2 because I was a teen mom and it really helped me feel not alone when I saw the girls going through the same problems. I also think girls who aren't mothers or moms to be can learn from the shows and see how hard it really is being a teen parent.

I thought the parents were being too harsh with some things (the last name thing does NOT give the father 'more rights', lol). And the dad seemed like a BIT of a prick...
And then they went home from the hospital and he flipped out.. then the car ride. Yikes.

Don't even know what to think. I actually am watching the MTV online clips right now because I'm trying to figure it out, lol.

I wanted to kill the FOB from tonight's episode. I've seen some self centered FOBs on this show, but this one takes the cake. And he's a total asshole. And putting the kids in danger like that because of his hissy fit? I hope at the reunion show we don't learn they've gotten back together, but this show's track record indicates she'll probably take him back....which I get because of the emotional connection.......but, fack

well, according to the clip online.. they're 'sort of' together again. She declined to press charges she says because she knows how badly that will have messed up his life.
I'm not shocked.. but at least she's not all 'we're in love and its ok now' like Chelsea from Teen mom 2.

His temper was out of control and totally not ok with young kids around, grabbing her like that after a surgery etc. I wish she said he was took some anger management classes etc. I also wish that HIS parents would sit down in a discussion with her parents and him. He thinks he is always right and his own parents should be there to agree with the other parents when he is being a douche.

Oh.. and on the video clip she explains that she was supposed to reschedule an appointment but hadn't gotten around to it, and left a note for her mom. Her mom was calling her to tell her when her new appointment time was. It explains a bit his reaction about her parents doing everything for her but also makes her mom's phone call totally unrelated to checking up on her because she was with him etc.
And what business is it of his if her parents do stuff for her? Did he buy that car himself? She's still 16!

Yikes...tonights episode was crazy. Josh was a littttttle crazy. I didnt much care for Elaina either though. I was just reading online that there going through a custody war now and Josh claims Elaina planned getting pregnant specifically to be on the show. Really sad, they both should have been arrested.

The FOB was a real asshole, cannot believe he is so disrespectful and especially when Jennifer's parents allowed him to be in their home despite their differences, he still had to be a prick and leave b/c he "didn't like them". He should be more concerned about spending time with his children, not their grandparents.

I almost died when they were driving in the car! It was really ridiculous when the mom called and Josh could be heard saying "So disrespectful!" I dont even think he knows what that word means. He just says it because he hears her parents saying it to him all the time. Really though, this show is exactly why all teens should be banned from looking at members of the opposite sex!

I think they do install a smaller camera (sans cameraman) in the car to record all convos and then go through and pick out the good scenes.

As soon as he picked her up, I was sure her C-section stitches would open! I thought of that as soon as it happened! He really is an prick and should have been in jail longer!

The policeman was taking photos of her neck, so obviously he did leave some sort of mark...

i just watched this one on mtv.com and wow what an ass. how could some1 just take the babies like that after dropping her off on a highway then put the babies on the side of the road. i really hope he has to go back to court and spend some more time in jail. i bet his parents paid for him to get out untill court date.....there was evidence of what he did all on camera so im pretty sure he will be doing some time

Link One - TMZ reports that Josh is apparently claiming the Jennifer got pregnant on purpose because she wanted to be on 16 & Pregnant. Oddly though, I read somewhere else that Jennifer didn't apply to be on the show... that MTV found her because she was having twins. Did anyone else hear this?

Link Two - If you are wondering why Josh has a bloody nose in the picture, this should kind of clear it up. Josh claims Jennifer punched him in the face... Jennifer claims he punched himself in the face to get her in trouble.

I don't know what to think about that situation On 16 & Pregnant, the only person I saw resorting to physical interaction was Josh, he put his hand in her face first and is very aggressive with his words as well as actions (picking her and moving her out of the way).

I don't really see how Jennifer would really want to resort to violence with Josh, especially when she seems to be trying so hard to turn him the other way. I think Josh is a spoiled asshole and if he did it to himself or if he did get punched, he deserved it.

but when something is recorded like this you dont always have to press charges because its endangering the kids. the way he was driving and the way he put the babies on the side of the road im sure CPS is envolved somewhere in this now. i cant wait to see the unseen moments to find out what happend though. not every case is the same

it took forever for Amber from Teen Mom to have charges pressed on her from the footage, so that may still be pending for Josh.
the speeding etc with the kids might be enough to get CPS involved, but setting the kids on the side of the road like that doesn't seem to be... they were a good 15 feet away from the street and were being pulled out of the car because her mom was coming to pick them up... he wasn't abandoning them there, he was taking them out at Jennifer's request.

And to be fair, Jennifer did start hitting Josh after he grabbed her around the waist (an understandable reaction on her part but its possible she made contact with his face during that flailing around).
