What did your toddler get for their 2nd birthday?

Lego duplo, smart Max magnets, and a fancy small xylophon(the cheap ones are so annoying and sound like cans)

I've noticed Smartmax before. That might be a good idea. Can I ask what set would be good? How many pieces is ok to start off with?

There's one on Amazon for about £100 and it has 100 pieces. It does look like something my LO would like.

I would get the ones with more pieces, I have got the red barrel with 84 pieces. it also includes wheels and windscreens . I think the 100 pcs one hasnt got any extra stuff like wheels. I like the barrels because it is easy to open but also good for storage as it doesnt take up much space.

Emilie likes making trains and busses atm and she likes to destroy and squash my constructions before they are finished :haha:

I like them because there is no swallowing risk, and they are easy to handle and not as easy to lose unlike those knex or similar.

Ughh why do they do that??? I build the most amazing complex train track and my little T-Rex runs through it and destroys it!

Thanks for the suggestion I think I will ask for this from grandparents as they asked for a suggestion and that's sort of how much they usually spend. I think the set you mention and some of the other smaller sets.

I couldn't resist a sale. ASDA had a wooden dolls pram for 12.50 and a wee wooden bbq set with wooden pans utensils and food for 7.50. It is meant for her birthday but may end up giving it to her earlier!

We were at my neighbours house today. She has a 2.5 year old and she has this magnet board with letters. Both her and B played with I for ages!!! Going to look into I think!

OMG I love toys! It used to be clothes I was obsessed with now its bloody kids toys and books!

I'm the same. I always said I wouldn't buy him loads of toys because I don't want to spoil him but I actually think I buy the toys for me :haha:

I'm getting slightly better, I've made it a whole month without buying even one toy!

My son will be two on Monday and he got puzzles, books, finger paints, crayons and colouring books at his party. We are getting him a play supermarket with play food and shopping cart. He loves that kind of stuff.

I don't know if you saw the wauwaa sale code from the bargain thread but the chicco balance bike is available in this offer. It's £35 but with the code £17.50. Although 3.95 postage but still cheaper than Amazon at the moment. Anyway, I know you said you were interested in a balance bike. The code is secretsale50
