Companies do that when they dont want the item to be bought as its actually out of stock. If they marked it as out of stock the listing would drop ranks meaning it wouldnt show at the top of searches but if they leave it in stock they risk selling a item they dont have. So they put it at silly prices so noone will buy but they get to keep their spot in the rankings. Happens on ebay too.
I would be wiling to bet its usually sold at £9.49 and they have just wacked a few 9's on the end..
