8 weeks or less and here we come baby!:)

congrats on third trimester admiral :D
i wish i had another scan. how exiting hearing the hb :)

With my first I bought 2 boxes of maternity pads and it wasnt quite enough so will be getting 3 this time then move onto normal pads after that I also came in pj's first time round it was the only thing I was comfy in I did have leggings and a top but pjs were best.

Thanx mrsctobe :flower:

P.s I think 3 boxes of maternity pads is the magic number!i took two last time and my husband had to get me more!lol! Also a little tip to get dark cheap pj bottoms!i was walking around with a little leak on my pretty pink ones, highly embarrassing!lol xx

I HATE the bleeding after birth and just thinking of the periods again.
the afterpains were pretty sore with my second i herd the more you have the worse they get :( esp if your breastfeeding. dont recall having them or having them bad with my first x

I had them real bad with my first so I hope they don't get worse! Every time I breastfed her the back pain was bad, I wanted to put my tens machine back on!lol! xx

I know you think and hope the pain goes away when baby born lol but it appears not haha

Hey admiral glad you found the thread! Im with you on the dark trakies pmsl xx

Aw mrsc sounds like hell this spd, make sure you get plenty of rest hun x

I have got 1 pack of pads so far and they resemble a bag of spuds :haha::haha:

I have got my 28 week growth scan and app with the diabetic nurse and consultant.
I have been diagnosed with gd since 6 weeks and currently on insulin and metformin. I can tell you that the cutoff leel for gd has been dropped to 7.8[i think] from 8.9,this is why i got away with gd with my other 2 kids x

My docs just phoned to say my level was 6.4 but they didnt elaborate just said that because Id had a bowl of cereal before my appointment they were putting it down to that and didnt need to take more bloods. Does that sound right??

My app is on monday so really looking forward to seeing baby again and hopefully know more about a date to be induced. Ah im sure your fine hun,you got a lovely bump and maybe you got enough room in there for baby to gain weight from now on.
Hope the spd goes away for you hun too,not nice especially with a newborn x

Hey sunshine 6.4 is normal hun,my consultant only gets concerned when mine go over 8 as this means baby has to produce more to cope with my sugar...Yes it is a pain having to do it at first and i was like a big baby  BUT everytime my hubby gave me the insulin id think about the baby suffering and now i am a big girl and do it myself xx

You're very brave Beaut! I would never get to work in the morning if I had to inject myself! :) Do you have to continue your treatment much past the baby's birth?

Looks like I'll be getting one more pack of pads then and some slim ones. I always had very light AF's so this is an experience I'm not getting too excited about. Yuck! I'm thinking for ease on the way home I'm just going to wear a maxi dress now. No seams or waist bands annoying me! Hopefully in early June it will be warm enough! Also I find wearing pjs a bit depressing. I'll wear them while I'm in hospital and for feeding but when we are allowed to leave I want a nice shower, a bit of lipgloss and some decent moisturiser to make myself feel like a human being again!

Mrsctobe - We are looking at moving over Easter. I'm hoping I get a nice early boost of nesting instinct to help with the unpacking and decorating!
Do any 2nd / 3rd time Mum's have other tips for hospital bags?

Ooooh, a maxi dress sounds like a great idea. I may have to pick up one or two for swanning around in after baby is born. Nice and light, as you say no waistband, and if the top's stretchy it'll be easy to pop out a boob for feeding :haha:

Pack lots of change for OH/Birthing partner for snacks and drinks.

Take lots of sweets for you, I couldn't eat a thing from the moment water broke until when baby was born. Sweets were really lovely! After the birth I scoffed down a sandwich so quickly, I was starving!

Flip flops were lovely to walk around in in the summer.

I am taking a small bottle of cordial. drinks were few and far between. I always had a jug of water at the side of my bed but I am not keen on plain water, I was so thirsty!

Will try and think of anything else! xx

Like the idea of a maxi dress now that you have said it. They are soooo comfy! Nice one!

Admiral, I thought you werent to eat sweets or chocolate when in labour cause it can affect the birthing process? I was gutted when I read that as I figured Id just snack the whole time until I have to push! Maybe its just a myth? Ive told OH that we have to take sandwiches and stuff with us as I cant be doing with hospital food!

Oh never heard of that Hun. The midwives didn't say anything! Lol! From first contraction to baby arriving was 5 hours!lol xx
