i finally got someone to answer the phone today at btl ... Miracle!!!!! The guy wasn't very nice and never even tried to apologise. But he said he would refund me if i put it in writing - i said i'd put it in writing already and that i wanted him to refund me immeidately whilst i was on the phone - i was in no mood for messing! I gave him my order number and he was able to quote my credit card details so that gave me some hope! I heard a machine whirring in the background so i'm hopeful that the refund has gone through. I then let loose with a torrent of abuse and told them what scamming b*st*rds i think they are and that i hope trading standards catch up with them. I would recommend people just keep calling until someone answers - i have rung at least every quarter of an hour today.
He did say that they had a sent an email out to all customers explaining the delays - but this is a pile of sh*te if you ask me.
I have rung my credit card company to see if the refund has gone through but they said it could be 10 working days before they can see anything. So fingers crossed. I will come back and let you all know if i hear anything. I see there are similar forums to this on other 'mum' websites too with the same story about btl unfortunatley.
Sorry for the long post ... I wanted to try and give as much information as possible. I would say if you manage to get hold of someone at btl then don't let them fob you off - demand your refund and get them to do it whilst you're on the phone. Don't give up!!!!!!! And then swear at them!
i got my refund showing on my credit card today!
I actually can't work out if these guys are scammers or just really really bad at what they do!!!!
So don't give up - keep calling and demand they process the refund whilst you're on the phone.
