April ‘baby’ showers 2020

Ive found the Doppler so will try later in that spot

That's exciting you've both felt something too. I don't feel quite so crazy knowing others have :haha:

Thank you guys for the welcome:)! I've been feeling flutters around 9/10 weeks.. And since this past week of my 13th week I've been feeling consistent movements an kicks. It's more so when I sit or lay in a certain position..
I've never felt this this early in pregnancy... This is my 4th so im assuming that's why im feeling it this early:)

Can any of you ladies help me out. So I posted my scan pic the other day.. My ob says it looks like a boy but its still too early... She said this is what looks like the boy parts... I honestly don't know what this is? I mean it looks like an arrow... An ive googled and im assuming it may be the nub? So do boy an girls have this arrow like nub or is this the baby's male part? I appreciate any help here:)

Sorry Hawaii I don’t know
When we had ds gender scan I was 16 weeks and it was quite obvious but what from a different angle

Sorry, I would have no clue! I'm sure it's one or the other though :)

Boys usually have a short stacked nub that is slightly at a raised angle. Girls tend to have a longer flatter nub. At around 13 weeks is the very latest you can really use the nub theory.
That being said, I was told ds2 was a boy at my 12 week scan and of course ignored it as I didn't believe you could tell that early (hadn't heard of the nub theory then) but they were obviously right.

There are lots of qualifiers as well, like the baby has to be laying with it a back flat, if it's curved you can't trust the angle of the nub, and some boys will raise later than others. Sometimes the picture you're given won't show both parts of the stack.

Just two routine scans here too, 12 & 20 weeks. Apparently I will be offered more later on.

Mother I hope you're feeling OK tomorrow and I hope your DS is OK.

Star, any luck with your doppler?

Hawaii I'm not sure!

Scan tomorrow. On edge about it but not sure why

Happy, I hope your scan went well.

We got home at 1:30. After having an awful journey to get there, I was then told that I couldn't go in with him after all. Luckily DH was with us and could go with him. We now have to wait to hear from his consultant for the results.
Basically almost a year ago he was having regular chest pains. We lost my father in law to his mitral valve proposing and DH had surgery to repair his mitral valve so we thought best to investigate. He had an ultrasound and ecg in January and then the MRI today. Ultrasound in January showed his valve was fine but he has some odd measurements and a prominent aortic root.

I really hope you get good results mother, glad dh could go with you

Happy, I haven’t had a chance to try Doppler yet! Every time kids are in bed and I have a bit of peace I’m just too tired lol
How was your scan?

My scan has been changed to weds instead of thurs so a day ahead which is good, it meant asking my sister to babysit and I will have to come straight back as she’s going out, so I won’t get a nice lunch out and shopping like I had planned!

Star shame you won't get a nice lunch and shopping, but yay for an earlier scan even if it is just a day.

I've felt considerably better today sickness wise. Whether that was just because I was rushing around everywhere or not though remains to be seen. Still had the odd wave of sickness but I got hungry without gagging which is a miracle. I feel like I'm finally getting a bit rounder in the tummy area as well now.

Scan went fine thanks. Put forward a little.
I don't see a nub there and I don't know about the skull theory but looks more like DD at 12 weeks

Hey all!

Hope I remember everything there’s lots to catch up on!

Hawaii- Welcome!

Cupcake- what a gorgeous scan! Glad all was ok!

Mother- hope DSs results are good from the mri!

Star- shame you won’t have your shopping day but nice your scan is earlier!

Afm- I had a girls weekend away. Several of us go and two organise it. It’s a surprise and then we find out at the airport. This time was London. It was a really nice weekend! Three of us were pregnant and all due in April so took it pretty slow. But it near broke me! I’m exhausted! I’d just about gotten over the sickness but the stress of travelling and the tiredness has made me vomit every few hours. Hoping it settles down soon!
