April Dewdrops 2019

I've been experiencing a lot of back pain at the sacroiliac joint. Anyone else experiencing this? I was expecting back pain like this so early on.[/QUOTE]

I have SPD since 7 weeks I knew it would happen but hoped not so soon. In physio since 8 weeks only think that has kept me off crutches but it's only matter of time. It's impacting my walking and moving. Get yourself to a good physio as soon as possible and hate to say it but yoga will make it worse. You prob have good core strength which will help you.

jamiesmummy they will be monitoring me a little more than they normally would. I will have my anatomy scan in November, she didn't recommend I move the date up which is appreciated, that gives me 7 weeks from today for the placenta to move. If it's still complete/marginal/or low lying on that scan they will scan again closer to labor and birth. I believe I have until 36-37 weeks for it to move out of the way until they schedule a c-section which is the last thing I want. I'm reading up on visualizing movement through meditation/prenatal yoga/etc and also there is something I've read about acupuncture helping. Then again, 90% move on their own so I just need to cross my fingers. Biggest thing right now is that I am on strict pelvic rest and should avoid lifting as well.

Good news is that I had no spotting yesterday or today so far so there is that.

We attended our first Centering Pregnancy session yesterday. I think DH enjoyed it more than I did - he is much more social. It was interesting that out of 8 pregnant ladies, one attended with her parents (it was adorable - they participated in all the activities!), one came with a friend, and only two were accompanied by their partners, both of which were second time dads with first time moms (myself included). It was a nice mix of people and the lead nurse was very personable.

The sessions are a neat concept, having a different topic each time. This week, the hospital's nutritionist provided information and held a Q&A opportunity. It was nothing I didn't already know, but nice healthy eating reinforcement. We were shown how to take our own vitals and are expected to do so at the beginning of each session and log them in our records. Next, the nurse takes us to a bed in the corner and finds baby's heartbeat on a doppler. She had a hard time finding a heartbeat for more than a second on me, so she offered to take us for an ultrasound after the session.

It was such a wonderful treat to get a surprise ultrasound! Baby was doing back arches and then wiggled around a lot. We saw the heart beating away! Yippee! The nurse said I have an anterior placenta, which is why she couldn't find the heartbeat on the doppler. She also said that I may feel movements much later and duller, to watch for them on the sides of my belly. All is well!

Thanks crow, sorry to hear about your spd!

With yoga there is a big emphasis on keeping your pelvis level and engaging your deep core muscles. So I think as long as you are practicing that it should be okay. Some poses (like dancers) might be better off avoided. My cousin is my yoga teacher and she had the same thing happen to her so she should be able to help me modify.

Exercise does make it feel better. Things that aggravate it are pulling heavy things behind me, bending over, jumping on one foot, or twisting motions through the pelvis (i.e. getting our of the car). I'm an OT I think if I follow some postural guidelines and modify my work I should be able to avoid inflamming it. Core exercises targeting the transverse abdominus and pelvic floor should be helpful. I'm out of physio benefits until January. If I can't resolve it satisfactorily on my own by then, then I'll go to physio! Right now it seems to be okay as long as it's not inflammed.

Angel I'm hoping it moves for you!!

Hickory what a fabulous experience! I wish they did something like that here! So exciting that you got a surprise look at baby!

Has anyone started feeling baby yet? I swear I've felt mine a couple of times, but then I wonder if it's just gas lol. It always seems to be in the same spot so I don't know!

Thinking of you Angel. Praying that your nerves are calmed and that the placenta migrates well out of the way :hugs:

Lovely scan pink_bow. Guessing :blue:

Very sorry to hear of your back pain Belle, as if you don't have enough ailing you as it is :hugs:

Oh crow, bless you. I pray your SPD doesn't cause so much suffering you need aid for mobility

Hickory the Centering Parenting sessions sound wonderful. If nothing else maybe it will be a nice refresher of info and allow you to make some friends in your community with similar due dates. And so pleased you were able to get a sneak eek at baby and that all is well <3 Happy 13 weeks btw!

Feeling movements more regularly now :cloud9:

I find a warm bath with lavender oil helps with the back pain. Also relieving the stress of the day. DD was a back to back labor and I swear she broke me.
15 weeks today, and I have felt baby thump a few times, but I am so ready for it to become more regular.

Crownnest- I have bad back pain. I didn't have it at all with my son so I was shocked to have it so early!

Angel- I'm glad baby is doing well, I am sorry about your news. I hope it moves. I know someone who had this and they made it until 37 weeks she just had her baby two weeks ago. I'll be thinking of you! I received scary news at my 20w scan with my son. Two major issues, one resolved by week 24 and other continued on the entire pregnancy and created some issues post birth but we were able to completely overcome it. So I understand the fear and sadness you are experiencing. I remember just sobbing for days!

I have been wondering if I'm feeling movement but thought it could be gas but last night I feel for sure it was baby! Just little flutters! I'm FINALLY in the second trimester. 10 weeks felt like forever. I won't be having anymore children but had I wouldn't want to find out til like 8 weeks just for my sanity LOL! ONE week away from finding out our babies gender! EKK!

That’s good they will be monitoring you more, fingers crossed it moves before your next scan. Not so good you are on strict pelvic rest but you need to look after yourself and baby. Glad to hear your spotting has stopped, its so worrying when your bleeding I know how that feels and it’s horrible... take care of yourself.

I had my 12 week scan today due date has changed again for the 3rd time.... now due 27th April. All seemed well at the scan active baby kicking and punching and showing off, I was amazed how clear the photos were compared to my sons 12 week scan pic. Hope everyone’s keeping well x

Happy 13 weeks babyvaughan!!

Lovely scan jamiesmummy
It's strange that they keep changing your EDD.

Thanks busytulip, I find it strange too, first I was told 3rd May, then 29th April and now 27th April and they are sticking with 27th April as my EDD. Baby’s alway been a few days ahead suppose he/she will come when they are ready though. My cyst is still there and measuring the same as my 8 week scan, only thing that’s changed with that is it has been pushed further down and away from my ovary, sonographer reckons with everything expanding baby has pushed it down so no idea what will happen to that x

AngelOb - thank you for the add.
BelleNuit- thank you too. I can't believe it took me so long to find this group.

So far no belly touching over here, besides DH and the kids. DD in particular loves to rub my belly, but I am quite chunky, so she just succeeds in jiggling my fat :haha:

Counting- Beautiful scan photo. So clear. My DD is an April 18th baby, my dad as well. It's a good day to have a baby.
I am curious about why they moved your due date for only 2 days difference?
Edit: grammer

Sorry for super late answer!

A couple of reasons! My periods were irregular when I got pregnant so my due date couldn't be calculated normally. I had a dating scan at just over 6 weeks, but dating scans before 8 weeks are considered less accurate than dates given between 8-14 weeks. The original scan was also taken at emergency, not by the techs who usually do prenatal ultrasounds. On top of that, the 12 weeks scan was taken by a dr who is a fetal development specialist because I am high risk, and their dating needs to be absolutely spot on. Hope this helps! For most 2 days wouldn't be a huge deal but in my case it works a little different.

Hey guys!! I haven’t been on here in forever, glad to see you all doing well!!

I’m 13+4 today. I’ve been SO nauseous this pregnancy, way more than I was with dd. They gave me Zofran at my appointment at around 9 weeks and that has really helped. I think it’s backing off a little over the past week, thank goodness. I’m thinking about starting back on the unisom and b6 I was taking early on before it got really bad and trying to stay off the zofran. At 6 weeks when they drew my blood work, my hcg was 71,000!! It’s no wonder I’ve been so sick with a hormone level that high, but I worried for a bit that it would be twins. :haha: only one on the scan though.

So I’m convinced this baby is a boy. I don’t know why I think so, but I just have a strong hunch that it is. I’ll be shocked but happy if I’m wrong, but I would almost bet money that it’s a boy. Does anyone else feel an intuition that strong?? I did with dd too and I was right. I have an appointment tomorrow and I’m hoping they’ll draw the NIPT labs then. WhT do you guys think?? The heart rate was 181 at the 9 week scan, and dd’s was only 156 at the same time.

Babyplease beautiful scan photo! Has the nausea let up for you any? I'm 16 weeks and still struggling. Vomited yesterday and today. Otherwise I am absolutely convinced that I'm having a girl. Like you'd I'd be shocked if it was a boy. But I would be happy either way! Are you waiting to find out what you're having?

That's my feeling as well Jamiesmummy, babies come when they are ready. I'd meant to ask after how the cyst was, thanks for updating. I'm not at all sure what it means that it has migrated a bit, but hopefully the fact that it hasn't grown any larger is a good thing? I hope it's easily reabsorbed and doesn't cause you any issue :hugs:

Happy 14 weeks counting! Yay for 2nd tri

Lovely to hear from you babyplease. Sorry you're still dealing with MS. Seems several of our ladies are really suffering. :( Gorgeous scan!!!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Ladies! The gender scan place near me offers scans at 13 weeks. Its got me going bonkers! My appointment is for Wednesday at 14 weeks. I now want to change my appointment to Sunday evening! I'm selling myself on it because wednesday my husbands will have just gotta off work. We will have to rush up there and we both work the next day plus our son has school in the morning so well find out then just come home. Where if we find out Sunday.. we can go buy the baby something, gender reveal stuff, and really let it soak in! LOL

Funny story, I didn't figure out I was pregnant until I was 8 weeks along. :haha: Had IB and when I was late for my next one I got suspicious. Should have been clued in when I was so tired all the time and by back was sore..have two children already so it's not like I don't know what pregnancy feels like. :dohh:

Good luck at your scan babyvaughan, I hope it will be really obvious

Anyone else waiting to make baby purchases until you're much further along?
I'm torn. I'd love to scoop up items as they are on sale right now but feel like it's still early yet and loads can go wrong :( But then I feel guilty for not being joyful and celebrating by picking up cutesie little items or things we know we'll need.
With our last little guy I didn't make any purchases until 3rd tri, but part of me feels like waiting until that long this go around may be a mistake given the babies will most likely come earlier.

We're waiting until after we find out gender to buy clothes and such - most of our nursery is done and we got our travel system on sale a couple of months ago. I've been slowly grabbing some things off of our local giveaway page on facebook though - things like nursing covers, books, etc;
