Beach Bump Graduates!

interesting theory DM. I had a vaginal birth but my baby was/is a lazy eater with latch issues. I still express every 3 hours and he gets breast milk. Not what I wanted at all but sometimes things don't work out. Sophie's a poop machine!

BB, hope Josh sleeps better soon.

Caz, Ajay wanted mommy cuddles :) I hope DH's return to work isn't too hard on you.

Claire, Gripe water is working great for us.

Simmy, I hope to hear good news from you soon! You've been pregnant forever!

Good luck Simmy - thinking of you and reall hoping today brings some result for you and that baby arrives! He/she is just too comfy in there!

Interesting about repeat c-sections - not that I would think about another right now!!!!!! I don't know how people do it, have a 2nd, right now it feels impossible! But I know that once we are over this hard period I'll think differently.

We just had to wake Ajay for a feed as it was 4 1/2 hours since he last fed. He is so drowsy this morning - cheeky monkey!

My MIL is coming over tomorrow, then my Mum on Thursday and MIL again on Friday so I have 100% 'cover' this week. Neel has primed them to say that their one job is to get me to rest and sleep - hopefully though he will sleep well tonight! Neel is knackered so I need to get him a nap today as he has work tomorrow and last week when he went in he was exhausted - can't have that again this week!

Gripe water used to work a treat on my niece Ava. They love it cos it tastes sweet. My sis used to give it to her through a little syringe. Xx

Hi everyone!

So I was in serious foof pain Sunday and it got a lot worse yesterday so I ended up calling the labour ward and was called in. The upshot is that my episiotomy is very infected, the outer skin stitches have opened and I'm bleeding from the open wound. The stitches below that in the muscle are fine thankfully but I have been put on 4 different antibiotics for the next 7 days, have to go in for a check up on Friday too and they think that the skin won't close on it's own so I'll have to have another load of stitches but they won't do that for a couple of months! Bit of a nightmare really. I just hope it does all heal and that the antibiotics don't do her any harm. The only good thing was that the mw there taught me a new BF position which really works well and has no pain at all, big relief!!

Simmy - I can't believe yiu are stillin labour, I'm so sorry what a nightmare! Hope that baby comes soon :hugs:

Mel - so did your milk just not come in at all? Bit of a she but as long as he is happy that's the main thing!

Sorry done this on my phone so wildcatch up on everyones posts asap

Around 4am I wrote a long update and the website crashed and lost it....big grrrrrrr! I'm in a bit of a daze. Jill's been such a milk monster...hungry all the time. At least she's putting on weight. Yesterday I spent most of the day with her hooked up to a boob. Good sleep seems to be a thing of the past.

Simmy, good luck! Those midwives need to break out the heavy artillery!

Caz, glad you're getting help this week.

Claire, hope the gripe water works for Niamh.

As about the repeat sections...not sure if I can handle another birth or another baby. I'm freaked out about the appt. Thursday to have my wisdom tooth out. Surely it has to be easier than birth, but I won't get a cute baby as a result of that surgery :(

Hann I just saw your post. How awful. Big :hugs:! I hope the antibiotics work.

Hann word of advice get lots of pro biotics down you. I was on really strong anti biotics for my wound and it gave Niamh really bad thrush and ultimately put a stop to BF. Try and do what you can to avoid it as she was so miserable and then it spread to her bottom so she was in pain both ends, it was really distressing to see her in that pain.

Good advice - Claire told me about the probiotics so I was caning the yogurts and Sophie was fine. Hope it clears up soon, sounds awful!

BV i know the feeling - Sophie seems to always want feeding! And to the site crashing - why does it always do it when youre trying to post a long one?

(that sounds like a euphemism for having a huge poo )

Oh Hann so sorry to hear about the infection, one of my NCT gals had a similar thing (but with a 4th degree severe tear) and has just resorted to lying down with a fan on her and, as she put it, "airing the hell out of my fanny". So pleased you've found a good bf position tho!

BV, glad you're ok apart from the annoying loss of post! When I write a long one I always copy the text just before I hit 'post', I think it helps give me piece of mind.

Caz - glad you've got some help this week! And neel sounds like an absolute star, bless him!

Xx

Hann - poor you, hope the antibiotics work. But great news on the BF'ing - it sounds like you are doing a great job!

I will get pro biotics - that's my fear that I will infect her with something which would be awful when the BF is going so well!
Thank 'you so much for the advice!

Hann - I def feel your pain, im on my last day of antib's today but it still doesnt feel right :( Got to see a GP tomorrow but there is talk about me having to have it re-done!
I just keep telling myself that id rather it was an issue with me than Joshua, he's fine thats all that matters....

Just found a thread that i found amusing, thought i would share...

Georgie that's exactly what I keep thinking - at least it's me nit Annabelle but it's really annoying and uncomfortable. They said that the surface layer is very likely to need to be restitched - though in 2 months. I don't get why I have to wait 2 months! I'll be pushing for it to happen earlier! Would be interested to see what your dr says to you. Do you just still feel sore then?
I just got a load of prescribed numbing gel which helps at night with the pain.
I'm now only bleeding from the wound not the post partum bleed.

At least Annabelle is doing well, she is so good! I love this lie down latch that the midwife told me about yesterday. Has made feeding today so much nicer!

Well Atticus is now registered! Wooooo!!! Plus he put on 3oz in the last 2 days which means he only lost 5.7% total body weight which is under what a BF baby normally loses :] Major happy about that!

Hann poor you with the stitches/infection! I just hate that the sanitary towels are rubbing me raw, I'm using my reusables now as they're so soft but I don't have enough to do me all the time atm. So glad I didn't tear/get cut I swear you girls are tough!!

Simmy I hope they get that baby out of you soon, bless you <3
I always copy long posts now too after losing a bunch of them it makes it easier if it crashes!

Sorry if I've missed anyone!!

i think there is a reason for delay on restitching - my freind had hers redone at 6 months and she was private. think it needs to heal a certain amount before they redo. think the swelling makes it look worse than it is or impedes thhe sugery

scuse typos one handed

I hadn't realised that, that's good to know! Hopefully your friend didn't have 6 months of pain before the restitching? That's my fear. I'll never be DTD again the way the healing is going - poor husband of mine!

her husband got 2 nights of reluctant pash in 8 months! It stopped hurting, it was just all a bit wonky
