Beach Bump Graduates!

Sorry to those with painful incisions. :hugs:

Hope all babies and Mothers are healthy and happy. Jonathan isn't a happy camper today. He refuses to let me put him down. So I am using my wrap to get stuff done and keep him close.

Thats my method too, Wezzles. Even if it's just a bit of laundry, it makes me feel like I have acheived something at least!

just a quick post from me as Logan has been feeding for the past 3 hours and has finally gone to sleep. He had a really windy tummy and I think he was more comfort feeding than actual need, but having had a poonami that could rival Sophie he appears a bit more settled.

Took Logan to be weighed today and he is now 9lb 4oz which is 1lb 2oz more than he weighed at birth 3 weeks ago, so he has managed to put on the weight he had lost and some. So happy about that as its so hard to judge if they are getting enough.

Had the afternoon out at a local garden centre where we had a late lunch and have now decided that I need some new clothes as my trousers were frequently falling down and could have been mightily embarrassing had I not had a longish vest top over the top of them!

Hope everyone is okay, catch up tomorrow afternoon after I have been to see HP.

love that my beautiful daughter has made a name for herself in the world already!

LOL Moira how funny is it that Logan is 9lb 4oz and today Atticus was weighed at 9lb 2oz and there's like 2 weeks difference between them!! Babies are so funny :]

Eve - funny DH and I were discussing that today as Josh was 9lb 14oz when he was born and Logan is 3 weeks old and hasn't reached that yet.

However we also worked out that Josh was 4 weeks longer in the womb and at the rate Logan is gaining weight he would quite possibly have been the same size as Josh had he been born at the same gestation.

There is already some newborn clothes that Josh didn't have on as he was too big for them that Logan has now outgrown too. In fact some of those Logan didn't have on either so I will donate them to work for some of our clients who need them for their kids.

Oh man, my little boy is only sleeping on me and won't be put down.... Plus Neel needs to sleep as he has work tomorrow. We think he may have reflux as he cries all night and dud for an hour this afternoon. Any suggestions?

Will try putting him down now.... He is dye a feed a three am so would like half an hours sleep if I can!

Hope ur all getting some sleep x

OK, I can't really catch up as Daniel needs to go home now (two big poops in an hour and just tired) so I'll try to comment as best as I can...

Congrats to Eve and Mel and everyone else who has had a baby while I've been away. And big HUGS to everyone who has made the decision to switch to FF. It is a hard, painful decision (it was for me, anyways) but the guilt is finally going away as I can see my little one chubbing up and filling diapers like a champion. He still has some gas issues but maybe he would have had them BF anyways.

Sherri, it's good to see you around. I totally hear you about being cut off. We don't have internet access either and this intermittent use of DH's work computer just isn't enough to keep up with things...either in the world of news, this site, or my real-life friends on FB.

I have developped a hemotoma underneath my incision over the weekend. It's all old blood and gunk that is oozing out so I need to get DH to drain it twice a day. That, with checking on the stitches as a whole, has been our only "alone time" thus far. Anyways, there is a nice-sized pocket of ooze underneath the stitch (which is actually closed) so I hope we can get it drained before it becomes infected.

And my stupid doctor's office isn't returning any of my calls so I don't have my 6 week post-partum checkup booked yet. Grrr......

I used to be able to put down Daniel without a fuss but the past few days he wants to be held all the time. But DH and I think he is going to be a strong-willed child because he is starting to fight everything if it isn't his idea. He does give in eventually but you have to be willing to be insistent. Which I am. I can't hold him while I'm sleeping because it's just dangerous.

Hann your lady parts sound pain very painful :hugs: I also agree with the others with the pro biotic suggestion, I really with the midwifes had warned me.

Caz sorry DS is being a bit fussy, Billy was like that during the day i had to put him in his wrap and carry him to get anything done. I must say fingers crossed our problem may have been my milk, as since we switched to formula he is much more settled and last night he slept for 6hrs!!!! Still wish I was feeding tho. Even on EBM he is nowhere near as settled. Hope you manage some sleep!

Mrs Wez sorry you too were having a fussy baby day, hope you managed to gat some things done and that LO settled eventually

Curlew and Eve we have the a similar situation. DD was born 9lb 1oz and DS isnt even back at his birth weight of 8lb 5 yet! he still seems so much tinyer than DD ever was. Not in a hurry for this one to grow up any time soon tho.

As for me I coped quite well yesterday after my decision to switch, had a good cry again but after the huge difference in how settled he is I am adjusting ok, I just try not to think about it. Back to the health nurse today, hopefully he will have gained some weight this week!
Also started thinking about having one more. wont be any time soon that's for sure. Might wait until I am qualified and can afford a private midwife, as I really want to try for a vaginal birth. Not sure if it is wise tho to get my hopes up as I am not sure how I would cope with a third section, perhaps I should just be happy with my 2 healthy babies.

Curlew- logan sounds like he is doing so well! And yay for the clothes being too big!

Starry - your incision sounds painful, hope it clears up soon. It makes things hard when you are in discomfort.

Amanda - well done you for thinking about having another so soon! I am still traumatised by the birth and my stitches situation to think about that! I hope you feel better about FF too, it sounds like it's very common to change to it plus he got the initial goodness.

Caz - my goodness Ajay sounds like a little monkey! One thing I was told by the mw yesterday was that they know when we are stressed and it makes them more whingy. It's hard to relax though when they are being like that though. Annabelle screamed almost for 2 hours when we were in the hospital, I was so embarrassed. I was told it was gripe and due to stress. If you think it's reflux or something stomach relaxed you might be best to see the dr for recommended treatment or alternatively a cranial osteopath might be able to help.
Clare had Niamh seen to for collic, perhaps she can advise if that was useful?
I'm thinking of you anyway and I would try and put him down even if just for 30 minutes.

Afm - up doing the feed - she went 4 hours without one! She had a couple of hours last night having a real cry and feeding almost constantly - including a lot of comfort sucking. She seems pretty calm now though.
Tomorrow we have MIL and FIL here- they arrived today and MIL held her for over 2 hours. I was starting to feel a bit funny about it because I hadn't held my girlie for a while so I told her I had to feed her and took her away. She is one of those people that thinks she is special because baby isn't crying on her and that she is doing something magical to our baby that I can't do myself (she loves to think the baby might love her more than it would me or Greg). But she doesn't't get that Annabelle is just a very content baby and will sit and be calm for anyone! And she is my baby and loves me and Greg the most!!
They are here (thankfully not staying at ours) until Sunday. I think it's going to be a very trying 4 days!!

Baby Leo born at 12.32am this morning weighing 8lb 12oz. Finally!

I'm in love with my little man :cloud9:

Had a section in the end. More detail later!

Xx

Yay Simmy!!' fab news!!! Welcome to the world baby Leo!!! But another bloody section I think that's 14 now and as a group we have had more sections than natural deliveries!!!!

Big congrats to Topaz and Simmy! I'm so happy for you and look forward to pictures :)

Huge congratulations Simmy. welcome to baby Leo. Gorgeous name really love it. xx

Wow Simmy Congrats on your baby boy! Leo is a gorgeous name too

Hann hope you are feeling better and the antibiotics are kicking in for you! Pain in your foof must be agony!

Curlew, i agree with Hann, you sound like you are doing a grand job BF, Im still in matenity clothes well and truely at the mo!

Amanda, glad you are feeling better about your descision to FF, you shouldnt feel guilty as you are doing whats best for your baby at the end of the day.

Starry, boo for the hematoma, im got to take my honeycomb dressing off tomorrow and really would just rather leave it where it is! I have stocked up on passion killer big pants to pull up over it!

Clare, i agree re the sections, its quite amazing really how many we have had between us!

Caz, i dont want to sound like i know what im talking about (as i really dont) but Alan is really anal about burping and winding Harrison during and after feeds, we can sometimes sit there 20 mins trying to get one burp out of him but we believe it really has made a difference as he is very rarely grizzly or sick and is happy to be put on his back. The first thing we do if he hasnt settled is wind him again and it usually does the trick, i dont know whether this could be part of Ajays problem? Like i said i dont really know what im talking about but the winding really helps:thumbup:

Sorry to anyone ive forgotten.

My mum was over most of the day yesterday, she is over the moon with Harrison, its so sweet to see.
Last night went pretty well, we got up at 230am for a feed and Harrison slept through till 7am after that. Since we have had him we have only ever have to get up once a night which is a lot better than i thought it would be to be honest!
MW is coming today to weigh Harrison and do his heel prick test, im hoping he hasnt lost too much weight, he seems so weeny now!
Newborn clothes even just fall off him at the mo, its weird as we always assumed we were having a big baby, although he was a good weight he wasnt huge.
Have been overwelmed by all the gifts and cards we have recieved, they just keep on coming, people love a new baby dont they!

OK SO I STILL LOOK PREGNANT! For those of you who had sections how long did it take for yuor tummy to at least start going down, its not like mine is even wobbley, its still rock hard like when Harrsion was in there!
And my boobs are sore too, (i know thats the milk thing) hopefully that wont last long.
Other than that im a blissfully happy ( if emotional )new mummy and at the moment i wouldnt change one thing about my life.:cloud9:

Mel stick a couple of cabbage leaves on your boobs, they reduce milk supply! I think you can also get tablets from the drs to stop your supply too

Aww thanks for the tip Eve! Il go and buy a cabbage and have the rest for dinner. lol
