Beach Bump Graduates!

Thats great to know Simmy as it means your growth slowed from 28 weeks onwards. I hope mines like that too! I started off 26/27 inches so about a 10 inch gain in 32/33 weeks.

Caz - hope you felt better today!

Busy day as inlaws here, in fairness its not been too bad so far. Watch this space lol!!

Had my 32 week waste of time appointment at the GP today. She didn't comment on anything at all, I actually had to go home and read the extremely brief notes to know what my baby position was (in theory head down but it was def breech yesterday) and BP - now 100/60 so much better. I'm just annoyed that she literally said 2 words in the whole appointment. Still no fundal measurement either. Got the MW at 34 weeks so will see if anything much happens then! I suspect not....

Julie/Mel - how are you doing? Hope you are okay :)

Quiet on here today! Hope everyone is ok - Mel, Hope you're holding up and not feeling too crappy. Julie how are you feeling? Caz hope you're better today?

Hann glad you're managing with the inlaws there. So annoying about GP?! They are never much good at antenatal appts.

Nothing much going on with me today, fed up of this weather where is spring??

It is quiet on here! You must all be doing exciting things!

Knackered as usual, wish Annabelle could sleep past 6.15am, it's getting tiring now especially as I struggle to sleep at night. MIL went to bed last night saying she was going to get up when Annabelle did and do her breakfast etc but funnily enough she didn't and is only just stirring now. How I'd love to be given a proper lie in where I wasn't woken up at all but since Annabelle has been born that hasn't happened yet! Just once would be nice!
I have a permanent tired headache grrr.
No plans for today, just letting the inlaws play with Annabelle while I watch and rest. I hope!
Got my second Nct session tonight, this one is the partner session so Greg will be with me which is nice.

Hope the rest of you are okay and just having nice relaxing times :)

Urrghhh sorry girls, ive only just come out the otherside of a weekend feeling like hell on earth, have not been able to keep hardly any food down and had a flu head if that makes sense. Mum has been great though and had Harrison Sun night, they are also on there way over now to help me out and do his swimming. Im feeling a bit better today but oh so tired and full of snot lol
Anyhow sorry for the one sided post will catch up properly in a while xx

I'm so fed up of vivid pregnancy dreams/ nightmares. Last night was the worst, dreamt there was an intruder in the house that got into Leo's room, then I was too scared to go back to sleep for HOURS. Hann I'm with you on the exhaustion :( Can't believe your mil promised to get up and then didn't, that's very cheeky. Shame about no lie in but if it makes you feel better even if I'm given the opportunity to lie in, I end up getting up anyway to go pee! And then obvs can't get back to sleep.

Mel your weekend sounds v difficult, what a time to get a horrible cold/flu. Glad you're feeling a tad better today, hopefully by tommorow you'll be back to 'normal'!

Oh no Simmy that doesn't sound good! I don't really have many dreams that I can recall but mainly that's because I'm not asleep long enough lol! Last night I woke up three times - twice when the inlaws went to the loo and once when I did, then takes forever to get back to sleep! Plus adding to that Annabelle shouting out every few hours and the baby doing somersaults. Not restful!

Mel - hope you feel better as the day goes on. Really not long now for you!! 2 weeks?! So exciting! I've got 7/8 weeks to go which seems like nothing!

Okay it was bound to happen - MIL rant!! She just can't be bothered to play with Annabelle! All she does is either clean the house which was spotless when she arrived because I didn't want her to have an excuse not to look after Annabelle but turns out she just re cleaned all the clean stuff! She keeps putting Annabelle into the high chair so she can watch her do the ironing etc which isn't fun for her! What she really wants is for Annabelle to sit and cuddle her for hours on end and so she doesn't have to exert herself. I have just spent 2 hours 15 mins sat on the floor while mil literally fussed around doing nothing! She then started to iron again so I asked her to play with Annabelle and leave the ironing and she came in and sat on the sofa but did nothing but pick up a ball a few times and throw it to her and now she's gone again to 'clear up' after FIL who has been doing some work on the bathrooms even though he just told her that he hasn't made a mess and nothing needs doing. She's incapable of helping me with Annabelle though! It's so frustrating! The only break I've had has been from 11.45-1.45 when Annabelle was asleep, and that's my normal break time. Seriously what's the point in her coming to spend time with Annabelle when she spends no time with her!! Just drives me mad especially when I've actually point blank asked her to play with her and she's ignored me! Grrr

Mel -- Oh, feel better soon! :flower:

Simmy -- LOL, I'm done with the nightmares, too! Last night it was zombies. Fast, creepy, decaying flesh-faced zombies. I feel so rested today. :haha: It's bad enough when they're stupid scary dreams like mine that aren't scary anymore when you wake up, but to have them realistically scary like yours is another thing. I had those mostly with Maisie. This time they're just way over-the-top nuts.

Hann -- I feel you on wanting to sleep in just once! Hubby gets to do it twice a week on the weekends. On the weekdays I'm up before him & Maisie. He offers (very rarely) but I can't sleep through her crying or fussing at all so it's pointless to even try to sleep when she's awake. Your BP is much better! Mine went from 100/41 at an appointment several weeks ago to like 120/70 last week to 96/83 this week. What a bizarre blood pressure reading, right? I'm starting to wonder if their cuff is messed up or something. :haha:

I was about 2cm dilated and 75% effaced at my appointment yesterday. Then we drove 2 hours to close on our new house and then went to change the locks & drove home and didn't get home until 1 in the morning. I had to work at 8.30 this morning. :dohh: Only 3.5 more days of work! I'm definitely making this Friday my last day now that we've closed on the new house! Nexts week will be spent traveling back and forth & getting the new house cleaned & ready (seriously has to be scrubbed from top to bottom, it's so disgusting. Rip out carpet, paint the walls, put in new flooring, set up some kind of fence suitable for our dogs, new appliances, etc. So much work!). I'm just hoping we can get most of that done next week so I can chill out for a few days before the baby arrives. I'm so crampy in my lower abdomen and back today and after going from tightly closed to nearly 2cm and so effaced in 6 days, I'm starting to think she may come a bit early. Especially since next Monday I'm seeing the OB who LOVES to unexpectedly strip membranes with no warning while she's checking the cervix (she did it to me at 39 weeks with Maisie... not that it did anything :haha:). You can all have a good laugh at me in 4 weeks when I'm still pregnant. :haha: I just really, really want to make it through next week and she can come any time she wants after that.

Julie you are a warrior!! If all that work doesn't get the baby out I don't know what will!!
2cm is great though! I have no clue what 75% effaced means, not sure they tell us that here! Hopefully she will come early or at a convenient time around the house move. Just been told that second and subsequent timers don't take completely closed cervixs most of the time and often dilate early but who knows!!

Hi all

Oh Hann, just when i thought the MIL thing was going ok, she goes and pulls a cracker out the bag! FFS! Shes got a screw loose, how long they with you for? Sorry you are getting not much rest hun x

Littlespy, I really dont know how you are doing it, you are actually my hero, especially in my pathetic state. At least you are keeping yourself busy but make sure you dont overdo things!

Simmy, gotta love the weird and wonderful dreams, i have random dreams about random celebrities usually, not the horror type ones you have been getting. Sounds like you have been getting looking after and yay for the lay ins!

AFM, So as i said feeling quite a bit better after a hellish weekend where i could barely get out of bed and into the shower. Alan was really worried at one point especially about my BP and i kept having to explain its just a horrid headcold on top of the latter stages of pregnancy. My mum has been an absolute star and is being for the rest of the week, (Alan is off work as from the weekend) They had H sunday night, brought him back to me yesterday, then came over early to do his swimming, i then took them for lunch and they have took him tonight again before bringing him back tomorrow then they are staying here till late friday with me to help me. Am so grateful to them right now, i cant say how much. Harrison has been a good boy too, am so lucky he doesnt bat an eyelid at staying with them, its home from home to him which is great.
In other news, he got his stage 2 swimming badge and certificate today am very proud of him hes done so well in 2 terms.
Not much else to report, my SIL had her Ozzie baby shower at the weekend, she is having a very easy pregnancy so far and looks fab, so different from the train wreck that is me at the mo..
Oh and Simmy and Hann, dont worry too much about bump measurements, im actually measuring huge but baby is measuring bang on with normal amount of fluid so may have to blame the cakes im eating lol. What im trying to say is as im sure you know size of bump doesnt necessarily indicate size of baby anyhow. Everyone thought H was going to be a whopper, he was only 8lb x

8 pounds does sound like a whopper to me lol!! ;)
So glad your mum can help so much, really not long now!

Even more grrrr - gave Annabelle some pasta for dinner, she never gets dirty from it - they feed her and she's got it all over herself including her hair which means I have to bath her tonight and I've got Nct so now I have even more to do before I go out. I'm so p****d off! They think its really funny of course because its me that has to run around and get her settled before I go out.
They are also leaving at 9.30 tomorrow which means they aren't going to come and see Annabelles ballet class after weeks of them saying they want to come! Seriously I don't understand them at all!! They wanted to leave at 10 and her ballet is 9.45-10 so they could just go 15 mins later which would make no difference in traffic but they aren't going to.
I'm just getting stressed by the visits, got her here again mon - weds and the thought just stresses me out! Seriously she's not coming again before the baby is born!!

Mel -- Mmmmm, cakes. :haha: I had such an awful head cold (turned chest cold/bronchitis) for a couple of weeks. Finally feeling mostly like myself again. It' didn't affect Scott or Maisie nearly as much as me. Being sick at the end of pregnancy is definitely difficult.

Hann -- effacement is the thinning of the cervix. So, I guess since "normal" cervix length is about 3cm, mine about .75cm thick now? IME, they don't tell you that until you're dilated because they actually stick their finger in the cervix to determine effacement. Not so pleasant feeling. :haha: I can only remember them mentioning effacement once with Maisie even after I was 3cm dilated so I guess it just varies doc to doc.

But I think your cervix has to thin quite a bit before it can dilate anyway so maybe it's an unnecessary thing to check. :shrug

Yeah Littlespy from what i remember last time they just tell you if your cervix is thick or thin here, and i dont believe we get the internal examinations as early as you do.

Hann, lol 8lb probably does sound big to you but everyone here was expecting him to be so much bigger and because he was so long he was quite scrawny with it. His legs were so thin! Soon fattened up though lol

Hiya just to let u know ive been in hospital since 3am having regular contractions since early evening. Baby is not engaged though and im not dilating, bp is high and protein is +4. Baby seems happy not really sure whats happening but it doesnt appear im in established labour. We are waiting test results and will see what happens whether contractions increase or disappear. X

Hi girls,

Mel are you ok? Wow didn't expect that update. Keep us posted if you can. Are they giving you any pain relief?

Sorry I've not posted. Feeling yucky my cold is making me feel so unwell and work is mental so generally feeling a bit crappy. Was away last night as we had a surprise party for my boss x

Had a text from Mel - no change really. Shes still getting contractions but no dilation. Shes being monitored so hopefully will know more soon. Thinking of you Mel xx

Caz - you are a trooper for being sick and still getting on with it. Its hard on you!

No big news my end, inlaws go this morning so back to just us. Spoke to Greg last night about MIL and he thinks she finds watching Annabelle too much and too tiring as basically shes so unfit and unhealthy that she can't keep up. I pointed out that really its not much help then having her here and he agreed.
We had our NCT meet last night which was nice but came back to MIL moaning because the ready meal singapore noodles that I left them (because she told me she liked it!!) was too spicy and she could't eat it. I just find it really rude because they are so difficult to feed because their eating habits are so fussy, we buy all the food obviously, and yet to come and moan I think is really rude. If it was me I would have said nothing. They never even say thank you for anything we supply. So I'm pleased they are off today and that things can go back to normal!! :)

Oh gosh Mel, hope everything settles (or gets going properly without intervention).

I don't envy you pregnant girls, the waddling stage is so uncomfy but it won't be long til you meet your new babies :)

Got a poorly boy just now, refusing food which is so unlike him. I'm in to get a wisdom tooth out surgically today, yuck.

Hope it goes well today Fi - big :hugs:

Mel is just waiting for the BP doctor to come and check her out but it's looking like she will go home soon. Potential for c section to be brought forward.
