Beach Bump Graduates!

Aw, Mel, I'm sorry about your appointment. :nope:

This is an attempt to be encouraging, so I hope you dont take it the wrong way -- We Oed on the same date, so our babes are really the same gestational age despite what our tickers say. :winkwink: And I used my O date to calculate the April 11 due date, so April 4 is bang on 39 weeks for us. And that's the perfect age (so say the "experts," right?) to make sure baby is fully baked! :flower:

I'm angry for you that she tried to scare you. You're scared enough about a vaginal delivery, you don't need someone trying to scare the crap out of you about a c-section, too! :growlmad:

Oh and I sent the photos to my mum and she came back saying that I might have more sideways this time and that she doesn't remember being bigger with my brother but he was over 2 pounds heavier, wow mum thanks for the reassurance!! Clearly she thinks I'm a similar size so why can't she just say that and leave it at that?!

LOL! Someone at my little baby shower at work today told me her son was 11.5 pounds at birth. I thanked her for telling me that and promptly walked away. :haha:

Not that my birthin' hips couldn't handle it. :winkwink: My poor hoo-ha, on the other hand. :nope:

Lol Julie! Just what you want to hear! My mum certainly has a way with words!!

Mel that's pretty shocking! Can you see another consultant, have you spoken to your MW about it? Fear of going into labour could hinder things and this woman banging on about hysterectomies is pretty appalling, in fact, quite honestly I feel it warrants a complaint. Yes, the have to outline the risks but it sounds like she was trying to push her views onto you which is not on.
I know first births generally are harder (I was terrified of needing forceps again but Naomi's birth was amazing) and can make you feel quite scared but you obviously had a c-section for a reason with H and I think that you should be offered one again without being made to feel awful about it :hugs:

Hann don't worry! I agree with Julie that you look bigger (in a nice way!!- you have a lovely neat bump) with Annabelle. I doubt you'd have a teeny just under 6lb-er and then have a huge 9lb baby- it's natural to worry though- I was terrified with Naomi as I'd had problems with Holly and her birth could not have gone better. Your body's done it before so it will be easier this time (that's what my MW told me anyway- and she was right!)

Julie I loved your bump pic on FB!! I'm so excited for you all!! Was your work baby shower good? What was your fave gift?

I'm watching Comic Relief- sob!

I forgot to say- Naomi has croup. She was bad last night so we tried to get the bathroom nice and steamy for her but then started struggling to breathe- she was sucking her stomach right up under her ribs and was barely breathing which made her cry so she got really bad- it was so scary!! She had a paramedic in the end and we saw the doc today and we have to keep an eye on her, hopefully she won't need steroids and will get better soon. It all happened in the middle of the night (as these things usually do!) too so none of us have had any sleep! At least it's the weekend!

EEk sorry for my appalling typing by the way, I'm trying to rush and I'm shattered!- Never a good combo! :D

Oh no poor Naomi! I'm so sorry you had to go through that Maria, I really hope she starts to feel much better this weekend. I'll be thinking of you :hugs: to N

Thank you for your lovely comments, really does help calm me down, I'm hoping it's not a whopper and that it comes out much easier than Annabelle did!!

Hann, my birth was pretty bad with J and a million times better this time. Also the bigger second baby didn't apply either! J was 8lb, M 6lb 9ozs.
So its not always the case! Remember it could be different fluid levels too xx

Hope N gets better soon, Maria xx

Hi girls sorry for not posting yesterday. I was in bed really early and I've got neels cold bug. Feel horrible.

So we are having a lazy day sitting at home playing and relaxing trying to get our energy up.

Han don't worry about the size of te baby. People can say really insensitive things sometimes! Your bump looks gorgeous!

Mel I'm so sorry to hear the appointment was upsetting. Please try not to worry about the labour I hope you manage to get what you need. What an awful woman :(

Agh can't remember anything else sorry xxx

Maria -- Oh no, I hope Naomi is feeling better! Croup is so horrible. I'd panic. I had it chronically as a kid and I remember it being so scary. :nope:
My fav gift was a Diaper Champ. We haven't used diaper-specific pails for Maisie and I'm so tired of smelling so much poo! :haha: About to set the thing up to use now!

I really have developed sciatica! What a literal pain in the ass! I knew this pregnancy had been sailing too smoothly since 11 weeks when the spotting stopped. :dohh: Violet is still being a crazy rowdy little thing. Probably just getting it all out of her system before she's born, right? Right? Right? :haha:

Hi All, sorry i haven't posted in a while, the PILs have been visiting so i've not really had a moment. It's been great though, lie ins in the morning AND an afternoon nap :happydance: And Leo has been thrilled, he just adores them.

Julie... lol your posts always make me laugh. Really sorry about the sciatica, that sounds horribly painful. How on earth are you managing? Surely you are busy trying to pack stuff up for the move??

Caz, poor you having neel's bug, i really hope you recover soon. And hope he's looking after you like you looked after him! xx

Maria, oh no, so sorry about Naomi's croup, it sounds horrible. And how scary to have to get the paramedics in! At least she's got meds for it now and should be better in a matter of days. You must be knackered :(

Mel, i know i'm late to the game but what an awful consultant! What she said doesn't even make sense. Why would you need a hysterectomy? Weird. I think you should call the hosp and ask to speak to a different consultant. Good that Alan was with you and he was equally as shocked. (just nice to sense check it against someone else). Sorry you didn't get the day you were after, but i guess 39+4 is at least closer to the full 40 so they baby has more chance of, as julie puts it, being fully baked :) But yes i appreciate how uncomfortable you are, how horrid to have such a bad experience.

Hann - i agree with the others you look bigger with annabelle! You look lovely in both by the way, and also you look about the same size as me and i'm only 25 weeks! And honestly dont worry about being big or having a big baby. The consultants are worried about the opposite aren't they, which is ironic! It's funny the things we worry about. i am worried about being too big as well. I already feel so uncomfortable, i can't imagine that i've still got 15 weeks to go...

Hi simmy glad the pil are giving you a break and you are resting.

Julie so sorry about your back. My sister had that and it's so painful :(

Still feeling crappy. Neel is sort of looking after me but not really that brilliantly! He has taken Ajay out to meet for brunch with or NCT gang. I just feel bad so haven't gone. Just feel so bad for Ajay as he isn't getting the usual excitement and playing that we usually do.

X

Hi all just a quick one from me as im too unwell, got a awful headcold and cant keep hardly any food/drink down at the mo so feeling really fed up and low.
My mum has just taken H today and having him overnight though to give me and Alan a break and to get him away from the germs and she will be on had all week to help me whilst Alan is working so very grateful for that.
Caz, sorry to hear you are unwell too, hope everyone else is having a better weekend! x

Feeling your pain Mel - I guess you can't take anything either. Your mum is wonderful bless her xx

Aah bless your mum Mel, i'm so glad for you that she's back! Sorry you're feeling so crappy though. :hugs:

Caz, same for you, poor thing. At least you get a bit of a rest with Neel and Ajay out. Would have been worse for Ajay if you and neel had both been ill at the same time...

Hope everyone else is having an ok weekend. The PILs have gone now and Leo's sleeping so just taking a moment to chill... Got another lie in til 10.30 this morning which was bliss, I feel so much better for it! (I got up at 7 with Leo but got back to bed thankfully).

Oh no to all the sickness! I hope you had good rests today and feel better tomorrow!

Simmy - glad you had the lie ins and enjoyed your time with your PIL. Mine arrive tomorrow, dreading it is too nice a word lol!!

Julie your posts make me laugh! I feel your pain with the sciatica, when I first did my original disc I fell over in the shower which did it but then I had sciatic pain for 10 months, it was awful. Obviously I get it in pregnancy and everytime the discs play up so I know literally what a pain in the bum/legs/feet it is!!

Had a busy weekend! Had a hen party in London yesterday, I just went to the lunch but meant I missed my lunch time nap and I was already tired after Annabelle being sick all week. It was nice to go though. Both Greg and I were falling asleep by 9.30/10pm lol! Then today Annabelle was up at 6.30 - she's incapable of lasting any longer these days annoyingly, then I got up with her while Greg had a sleep so I gave her breakfast and did my 40 min workout then Greg looked after her while I did my 20/25 min cycle. I then made us all a smoothie then got ready and went and did the sainsburys shop where Annabelle refused to sit in the trolley so Greg ran around the shop with her while I did the shop but that in itself was exhausting as the trolley was so heavy! Had a snooze after lunch then spent the afternoon cleaning and tidying so ready for PIL tomorrow. Just made dinner and got the bedtime routine to go! What a day!!

Oh and on the subject of massive bumps, I found a book that I had noted the size of my bump around my middle with Annabelle at 35 weeks (so 2.5 weeks off this) and it was 38 inches, currently 37 inches so hoping I don't get too much bigger over the next 2.5 weeks!! Hoping it will keep along the same lines as what I was with her! Eeek!

Blimey Han two lots of exercise I'm impressed. Don't over do it though please. x

Simmy your lie in sounds lovely! I made it till 8 am then got up today!

Julie we are all a wreck aren't we?!

Still feeling rubbish- my throat feels like its got hot lava at the back (only way I can explain it). Neel wants me to stay off work tomorrow but just too much todo so we will see.

Also we've just started watching breaking bad - only one episode in and it seems brilliant!

Caz are you sure it's not tonsilitis? Lots going round! I agree with Neel, you should stay off if you are sick, you will just get worse otherwise! And yes breaking bad is great! I'm waiting for the last episodes to come out now!

I'm okay, don't think I've overdone it. My back was a bit sore but gregs given it a rub so all is well! :)

Impressive exercise Hann! Sounds like you've had a busy but nice weekend. I am bracing myself for you this week - hope the pils visit is not as bad as you fear!

Caz I agree too, if you still feel rubbish in the morning don't go in. Maybe you can work from home so you don't fall so behind?

Had a nice chilled afternoon, the twins came over to play which kept Leo busy, and then Paul and I had dinner and watched Salt - not a bad film. Oh yeah thanks for reminding me about Breaking bad - Hann I remember you recommended it ages ago, keep meaning to get around to watching it. Got a play date planned for tomorrow morning with one of the NCT girls. Thought I'd give my mum some time off! I'll take Leo to my parents tomorrow afternoon and hopefully get some work done then.

Night night all x

Hann I just checked my measurements from Leo - at 33 weeks I had a 40" waist! And 39" at 28 weeks. Yikes. But then I'm sure you had a smaller waist than me to start with.
