Beach Bump Graduates!

I have one on mine Bec, thiink i got it on ebay...

Joshy has done a few nights in his big cot but im not ready to push the subject yet, id really like him to be going longer between feeds which has been a bit hit and miss at the mo.
My mum got him a gliding crib off ebay for £9 (!) which is quite a bit longer than his basket, so he at least has a little bit more room.

hello everyone.
Only just come across this thread. Had my little girly on 15th july. Cant believe how fast time goes! 6 weeks already!

Just wondering if anyone has any experinces with changing baby from one formula to another? lydia-mae is on aptamil 1st but is still colicky, constipated and suffering indigestion. I noticed aptamil do a comfort formula for babies who r suffering with these things, thing is im apprehensive about changing in case 1) i havent given her enough time to get used to her formula (shes been on it since birth) and 2) i dont want to make matters worse or cause her to have diahorrea as her weight gain is very slow as it is. She was 6lb 9 born and only weighs 7lb 14 now.
I never needed to change formulas on my older 2 so any experiences would be great. My hv said to keep giving her water but theres only so much water u can get down them in 1 day and its not making any difference, same as gripe water - not helping.
Thanks in advance xxx

lilli harrison has aptamil and we use dentinox in it really helps the collic

We also use apatmil, have tried a couple of others and they have bee worse to be honest. We have reflux issues though so he is on gaviscon.
In my opinion there would be no harm in trying, generally takes about a week to notice if their is any difference.

thanks both. I suppose if its awful i could just change her back  i hate to mess her around but right now she seems so uncomfortable and isnt settling well. She probably couldnt get much worse.

our mattress has a zip off cover so we have that and we use disposable mattress protectors over the top. I'm hoping to get at least 4 months use out of the basket. As Harry was dinky he was in his for 6 months. I like having her close and its easy for feeding. :D

Hi all!!

Had a quick read through, not got much to add but i'm glad all mummies and babies are doing well!!
Some good looking babies in here aren't there!!

Hugs to anyone having hard times/sleepless nights xxxx

Hi Kel, just seen your ticker. Can't believe it's been 3 months :( :hugs:

Missing you in here - think about you often xxx

Thankyou i miss you all too xx

It was 14 weeks on friday since he was born, 13 since he died, i'm still counting in weeks really, it seems so long ago to me!

I do pop in to read every so often, just to see how babies are doing, i just don't post as i have no advice really, been 6 years since i had a newborn disrupting my sleep!!

Glad everyone's doing well, hopefully i'll be back with a rainbow next year, won't technically be a beach bump but you'll all be the first to hear about it xxx

Look forward to hearing about you bfp very soon x

Question for those bf'ing exclusively, have any of you had af yet?
I think I ov'd just over a week ago and today I've had bright red spotting. It has stopped now but af is the only explanation I can think of as I don't have any new pain.

nothing from me, Fee, but as you know it took feck loads of clomid to get a cycle out of me before. With BF on top of my PCOS I'm not expecting much!!! Plus I'm back on the pill now, hopefully that might regulate me again.

I kind of though this might happen as I've managed to ov on the pill in the past!

I thought I had ov'd a couple of weeks ago and got some bright red spotting for a couple of days however nothing that was heavy and I heard you don't ov when bf so I'm assuming it was just the end of my pp bleed.

Can anyone tell me how to stop annabelle waking me up with her excessively loud straining noises as she tries to poo?! It happens every day now in the second part of the night!

Hi everyone,

On the subject of AF - nothing for me yet. I've just started back on the pill yesterday so might come back when I have the break from that?

On the subject of feeding - we think that after Ajay downing 4 oz bottles, we might now be overfeeding him! He has gone from having 6 x 4 oz bottles per day to now 5 x 5 oz bottles and 2 x 6 oz bottle (at night) so he has added another 50% of feed onto his feeding. The HV told us to feed on demand (so we are no longer trying to get him to wait until 4 hours to feed) and also to increase it as if he drains the bottle, he must want more. But he takes more!!!!! So even the 5 oz bottles in the day, really he drains them and so should want more but now we're worrying that we're stuffing him!

Oh well, we'll keep going. The HV is coming back a week tomorrow - he will probably have put on loads of weight!!!!

AFM - Neel is off this week and for the last two nights for some reason has stayed up until 3 am to feed Ajay then come to bed. So I wake up and there is no night feed to do! I guess it works as it means I sleep through and so does he (I won't wake him now until 12) but it does mean that we barely get any time together in the night and are sleeping in seperate beds.....boo but at least we are not tired and actually enjoy the daytime together!

Off to SIL's today for lunch - hope everyone has nice plans. xxx

Oh and Han, no idea about the noises from Annabelle - one of my NCT girls wears ear plugs in bed and swears you can still hear the baby but I've not tried it as I'd be too worried!

Thanks Caz - I don't think I could do the ear plugs either!!
That's a shame about not sleeping together but I can see how at the moment actual sleep is more important!

I have to wear earplugs to drown out paul's snoring! So I tell him he needs to let me know if Leo cries, lol. But when it's just me and Leo obviously I'd be too worried to wear earplugs so also get kept awake by various grunting, straining, snorting noises.... Babies are noisy!

Caz - we have the same guzzling issue with Leo - he will just drink anything we give him, and I'm convinced it's not because he's hungry as if we stop at 125mls and put his dummy in, he calms down. They say you can't overfeed a baby but I'm not convinced! Let me know if you get any good advice from your HV and I'll do the same...

How much should they be drinking? I have no clue how much Annabelle has as she is BF but this morning she is on a feeding mission and has eaten pretty much for the past 1.5 hours and us still going! Think we might have hit the 6 week growth spurt a few days early!
