Beach Bump Graduates!

Hi well I'm back from nct. It was a totally new group of girls which was nice - funnily enough another Annabelle baby, plus another girl and two boys. Nice to meet them all and seem like a good group. We just talked about how we were getting on and routines etc. Have it for another 3 weeks too.

Fi - I think (fingers crossed) the granules are working! I have no idea how but she is not screaming when she needs to poop and she isn't grunting and straining like she was. Amazing! How are you getting on?

Linds- reckon they are really good at getting the milk out now. She has been pretty much asleep all day though so I reckon she is having a growth spurt.I will be surprised if she can sleep the 7 hour stretch tonight after all the sleep today - which will be annoying!!

I think they are working, or it's just the infacol wearing off. Don't want to stop them just in case they are doing something.

If its a growth spurt she will! Soph was like a hibernating bear....

I hope she sleeps!! Going to get her in the bath in a bit! Bedtime is at 8ish these days.

Fi - keep them up for 5 days - heard that's all you need!

Hi all

Hann, sounds like Annabelle is really getting the sleep thing down! fab for you must be nice to not be exausted! Glad you had a nice afternoon

Simmy, re the sleep thing i think its just a case of waiting till they are ready to sleep longer, then once they do, building on it, it will happen all of a sudden, you will see:thumbup:

Linds, Sophie is a sleeping superstar! well done!

Fifi, hope things get easier soon for you:hugs:

AFM well im exausted, Harrison did better last night than he has done lately, from 830pm till 11(we woke him) then 1130 till 415am, he went back to sleep though till 6 without feeding but i didnt! lol

We had a lovely afternoon yesterday, went to a friends 2 year old birthday party, ive started to see more of her since having harrison, we went to school together, there were a few girls there i havent seen for years so that was nice, and some of us are having lunch on thurs so thats even nicer!
Today, i dont think ive hardly sat down all day! Between looking after and feeding Harrison, we managed to get out for a walk with the dog in the baby carrier (Harrison not the dog!) and then he napped this afternoon so i got cleaning and some housework done and prepared dinner before alan got home, have only just sat down now, will be so much easier when i get some more sleep!

Tomorrow am planning on going to a local mother and baby group in the morning, worth seeing what its like, is only a 5 min walk away!
Hope everyone is doing well xx

Oh dear just had a huge projectile vomit incident and now she is miserable and won't sleep. Think it's going to be a long night after all!

Well done for being so pro active today Mel and hope the mother and baby group is good!

Oh dear can hear the screams :(

Hann, i cant see my housewifey thing lasting long, seriously am exausted! lol Hope Annabelle is ok poor little love, and hope your night isnt as bad as you are anticipating!

Well it ended up taking 2 hours to settle her butvas we started early shevwas still in bed at 8.30 and slept until 4.30am! Yes 8 hours! We are inching closer to the full nights sleep. Though she is gulping the milk down now like she has never been fed before so think it will take a long time before we are there. Can't complain though!

Hi all,

Han - glad your nct group were nice. Always great to meet more mums. And great news about the sleep!

Mel - So domesticated! Please don't tell Neel that when Harrison sleeps you clean as he will expect the same from me!!!

AFM - well Ajay slept like Annabelle, 9.15-4.30. I woke up assuming Neel had fed him at one ish or something but no, three bottles in the fridge so he has gone the longest ever sleeping! Off to have him weighted tomorrow and then I'm thinking a quiet day at home as the weather is horrid. I can hear the rain now!

Oh my god worst sleep ever for us seems like we are going backwards instead of forwards:-(

Oh no Mel - what happened? Do you think it's him adjusting to being in his own room?

Im not sure he was gripey all evening i think he could have had an upset tummy as we gave him the leftovers of a carton of fomula in the evening, he woke up around 9pm and he nevet does that then after his final feed he was up at 2am and we was up with him till he went to work at 530. Just dealt with the mother of all poos and he seems happier now.

Wow good going annabelle and Ajay! Caz - you were just saying that he rarely sleeps more than 4 hrs - I am now holding out for Leo to do the same!

Mel - must just be a blip no? Hope you're feeling ok!

Simmy - I was gobsmacked! I assumed Neel had fed him and this was just another four hours later! I don't know if he will repeat it but we will see.

Off to have him weighted now....
x

Mel - I have found J was doing really well for a few nights then not so good for a few nights, think it really just depends how they are feeling.

Am having a nightmare at the mo, J has been so grouchy and screamy since about Saturday...I think his teetha re moving around but he seems to be getting worse. Last night was just awful, he just screams constantly. I finally got him coaxed off to sleep just as hubby got in from work at 11pm....
Took him to the docs this morning to check there is nothing wrong. Dr thinks he is having a reaction to his jabs so have just got to keep an eye on him really. So draining when im home alone all day and nearly all night.....I feel awful for just wanting 5 mins to myself!

Poor little J, BB. It can be so hard when they scream and scream, especially when you're on your own. Hopefully he will recover asap from the jabs. :hugs:

crappy day for me. Cam's only put on 3.5oz in a fortnight. Thrush isn't clearing but hv is wondering if it's thrush at all so has made us an appt with docs for tomorrow. Doc also wrote prescription for omeprazole for cameron as they think he has silent reflux and that's why he screams so much, doesn't like lying down and isn't putting on enough weight. Can't get medicine til tomorrow though :( Feeling really low as I really didn't expect his weight gain to be so rubbish. Why do things work out for some people and be endlessly challenging for others? (sorry for the self pity)

Fi- we have had the slow gain problem for a while now, it seems to be slowly getting better but they're still on my back about it- I know how low it can make you feel- don't worry- thing's do get better- I tried changing my positioning and since cutting out dairy N isn't sick anymore which has really helped. PM me if you want to chat, I know how you're feeling xxx

Just had hv round. She thinks there may be issues with latch, he's sliding off so not getting as much and in the process chewing my nipple (hence thinking it's thrush). She was talking about checking on me weekly as she thinks I'm at high risk for depression (just did the Edinburgh Score on my own and got 10 which is borderline). Hopefully sorting the latch and starting omeprazole will help.
Have you made another docs appt? Hopefully the will give you domperidone! Have you read he relactation threads? spoken to Amanda? ( I think she succeeded)
scared to cut out dairy but I know it'll work!
