Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

She still likes to lie across me, particularly in the evening and during the night as she nurses to sleep  They're our only real snuggle times; she's just so busy and so independent!

William lies on me to fall asleep but lately takes himself to bed sometimes, he loves his night feeds still!

Takes himself to bed? Awww, bless him!

Emma still feeds just as often as she did before weaning. She is a snacker and wants to feed for a few minutes and than go off and play. I don't offer juice or water throughout the day except at mealtimes so she's probably just using me to get a drink. :haha: But I really love that she still wants me all throughout the day. And I feed to sleep as well. Even for naps.

Hmmm, maybe I need to be offering water, what do you think? Esmé probably feeds 4 times between getting up and going to bed...

Glad to know I'm not the only one who nurses their little one to sleep :) As I type, Alyssa has just fallen fast asleep and is flat out on my lap :cloud9:

Our bed because we so cleep. He is a smart lad though. Watched him take the batteries out of things he could find like remotes just to get them into a keyboard as he wanted to get it working. He only ever seen me doing that once ages ago and because he wasnt happy he was missing a battery he came and go tthe house phone which has rechargeable batteries in it cracked that open like a but and used them batteries. And he has known a while things that have plugs need plugged in to work as he always tries plugging the hoover in to hoover for us. Nothing gets in the way of sometihng he wants. Not in a spolt way he will get it, no point on hiding stuff he has hawk eyes on him. He has a cheeky grin and a glint in his eye and knows what he is doing all the time. he goes about here saying "all right see you later" when he goes out. :blush:he is so generous and feeds the dog things to lol

Sophia pretty much refuses to fall asleep on me :nope::cry:

wont need it, I tried that and it was thrown at me the bottle and boob was demanded. Someone told me to so i wouldnt be feeding all night. Well that didnt work. boob juice is the best at night. No need for water.

Okay, I added you all to facebook! I will warn you though, the albums of Emma are locked at the moment while I rearrange and digital scrapbook it all.

Yay for Facebook!

Anyone else's LO have very active feet when they nurse? Alyssa LOVES to stroke my face or my shoulder with her bare feet....

why on every post do i see a pic of a woman with a baby? weird

yeah i kicked and william loves boobnastics.

 Boobnastics! Perfect word to describe it! I have bruises on my arms some mornings where she's shoved and squirmed and wriggled LOL

Hey fellow FB addicts!

Had a horrible bedtime with W last night, no idea what was wrong but he was ultra upset about something. Anyway, only way to calm him down was a bf - which I don't mind in the slightest, but got me thinking, one of the things I truely love about still bfing is the instant comfort it provides, but what on earth happens when you stop bfing?! Theres nothing quite like it is there, so how would you calm down a really upset baby? Esp if you've never bf?!

Not expecting answers really, but just thought I'd share my ramblings!

i've alwaiys wondered that as well, and asked my non-BFing mummy friends what they do (especially in the early days when upset baby happens more frequently), and they just said cuddles etc. i agree though it is an instant calmer, i cannot imagine coping with a newborn without breast feeding!

I often wonder the same thing! I couldn't imagine not nursing.

I think I'll re-read my copy of Mothering Your Nursing Toddler. I love that book and The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding.

I couldnt imagine after the birth or William turning his head away from my boob and giving a bottle :( he went for the boob I let let him. He knew exactly what to do to and I went with it even though I was going to formula feed as I had not a clue about breastfeeding till after I came out of hospital and went and checked it out more. Rest the babies where not doing well in ward I was only one breastfeeding in there and William loved it, no sick, no crying so I stuck with it.

ahhh girlies! please tell me its gets better once the teeth are through! My nipps are aching and soo sore with her munching her little teeth against them!

I've been bra-less all afternoon with my boobies on display slathered in their own milk!!

yep, well william has loads of teeth and dosnt bite, they do occasionally at the start. But does stop.

Yes it does get better :hugs: Alyssa has all her teeth bar the last molars, and she doesn't bite. Try some Lansinoh as well x
