Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

i've been bf for 6 months!! its gone by so quick and i love bf!! :) :)

Yay Polaris!

I offered boobie to K today as she was pulling up my shit quite a bit, and when I offered she make a very icky face and shook her head no! hahahaha I was laughing so hard, I still offer it to her so she knows it there, but no luck with pumping!

Thanks everyone!

However tonight he was back to totally not interested. It's funny because he still made the sign for milk but when I offered it to him he shook his head "no", then he gave my boob a kiss and then pulled down my top to put it away. I am disappointed but it does make it a bit easier that he had the feed last night because at least I got to have "one last feed" if it does turn out that he weans now. I was really aware the whole way through that feed that it might be the last time that he would feed, so I am more mentally prepared now if he doesn't go back to it. I will keep offering but it does seem like he is on his way to weaning.

11months, we got to our 11 month milestone while on holiday and hes still a real boobie baby was every 3-4 hours during the travel but was back to 4-5 times a day while we were there

Yay Polaris!

I offered boobie to K today as she was pulling up my shit quite a bit, ...

Just had to quote you on that one. It made me LOL.:rofl:

:hugs: to you too hun. You're a trooper for even trying still.

Oh my land... I didn' see that typo!!! hahahahahaha!!!
Thank you hun! xx

Polaris, maybe LO will still nurse again, good to keep offering but glad you are feeling better about everything. Sounds like he wanted to make sure boobie was still there if he needed it, bless him.. sounds so sweet!

Well ladies, today marks the day that I have made it to 8 MONTHS breastfeeding my daughter. I am beyond thrilled. I struggled and was in tears the first 2 months only to find out my supply was the issue. Thank you Fenugreek! I also wouldn't have stuck with it if it wasn't for my loving supportive husband. He is truly amazing. He picked me up all those nights I was in tears and thinking my milk was s***, and all the times I had wanted to give up. I'm glad I didn't because I love it so much now.

Congrats on your milestone :happydance:

I heard back from my HV today and she said that she spoke to the doctor because I've not had AF back yet and he said the pill I'm on can do that. I'm not sure if I should come off it a wee while and see what happens. As much as I like not having AF I kinda feel that I should try get my cycle back to normal.

I just saw my ticker and realized Emma is 19 months old today. So I guess I hit my 19 month BFing milestone!! :haha::yipee:

That'll be me tomorrow then Cleckner! Is your LO still nursing a lot in the day? La would nurse all day if I let her, she chases me about the house demanding 'boo boo' when I'm at home in the day at weekends!

Thomas has been back having his bedtime feed for the past two nights now. :cloud9: He seems to be almost over his cold so I'm hoping that maybe it was his cold that was putting him off and he might keep going for a bit longer. I would prefer if he did breast feed for a bit longer especially as he still won't drink cow's milk.

:hugs: all 'round.

Glad Thomas is feeling more like himself again Polaris :)

WTG Cleck :happydance:

Bec... H is like this again at the moment. My boobs are sore! :nope: (teething)

I can't believe I'm actually hoping she might give up another feed. I read all these posts and wonder will I be mortified whenever she does, but I am just so worn out with her demands!

bec- Yeah Emma is still pretty frequent with her feeds! At least 6 times a day. Usually in the evenings she wants a really long comfort feed too. Which is pretty much us laying on the couch together watching tv while she suckles. It's funny because she just recently started calling it 'boo boo' too! At first it was booby but now she only says boo boo. I keep trying to get her to say booby again though I thought it was funny. :haha: Congrats tomorrow on your 19 month milestone!!:dance:

I always get so sad thinking we are probably closer to the end than we are the beginning of BFing IYKWIM. :( I'll hate to be done. Although some days I kinda wish we were done bc she can be quite demanding for it. :)

Polaris- Yay!!! I'm glad he is getting back into it for you. :hugs:

Seraphim- I sometimes wish Emma would start cutting back too. It can be exhausting! :hugs:

Congratulations on all the lovely milestones! :) 25 months for us on Tuesday.

Alyssa calls it "mommy milk" and "mommy milk best milk" :D
