Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

Emma can't say 'milk' yet. Actually, her vocabulary is fairly limited still. Only like 12 words but she's physically all over the place and can climb like a monkey.

K doesn't ask for boobies, yet, he just pulls at my top he would nurse all day too if he could.

Cleckner K doesn't have that many words either but he climbs ANYTHING and he is so like a monkey too. He actually grips the bars on the stair gate between his toes to shimmy up it

congrats everyone my milestone is nothing compaired to u lot lol
do any of u have any advise on how to stop my lo biting. he bites me nearly everytime he unlatches it really is hurting my poor nipples i really dont want to stop but if he doesnt stop biting then i will have to

Hey Stacey - I think they all have a phase of it. They generally don't mean to, but as they're teething it all feel funny, and that grazing yank is yowzer! With H I naturally yelped and would say 'no biting'. I also got to know when she was dozing off and would unlatch her. It does pass.

H changes what she calls milk as she learns other words/sounds. One time it was 'meee-ow' which is when I realised I really should talk properly then it slightly improves to 'mill' but the last week it's been 'mmmee-yums'

thank u its just so painfull i was in tears all of yesterday with it he bites down and then pulls back! i've tried saying no but he just smiles/laughs at me i didnt want him to think its a game so i'm trying to ignore it and not say anything but its hard its just getting me down

Whenever Emma would do this I'd say no and than immediately sit her at my feet. The sudden movement of me putting her down would usually startle her enough to make her cry and eventually she realized that biting=no booby. She still bites occasionally but she nearly has all of her teeth now so I think we are nearly past that phase.

Kira calls them "boo boo" too, but sometimes she says "boo boo boo bee bee bee", LOL

I love taking baths so in the evenings I take a hot bath, but I have the bathroom door open since I need to keep an eye on Kira too. Her new thing is to lean over the edge of the tub and pinch my nipples! She has really good aim so she sneaks up on me before I can move away sometimes. Then she laughs so hard! I don't have any privacy these days!

LMAO!! That sounds exactly like something Emma would do. Emma thinks it is SO funny to pinch them too. Mean little kids.

Thanks guys. My skin is improving... they gave me a new cream to try. I can now see my nipple again, not just a red mass of soreness, and it doesn't hurt like it did.

Sadly I lost the pregnancy so probably won't be tandem nursing - although the rate La is going, I might be as she shows no signs of ever wanting to stop.

La still loves to pinch one nipple while feeding from the other. She goes crazy if I cover it up. Little madam.
