Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

:hi: all. i just got my :bfp: and i'm 5 weeks 1 days according to LMP... So I am due about 8th jan 2012! :happydance: So that puts me among the 'crazies' who are pregnant & breastfeeding, and possible (assuming he doesn't self wean in the mean time) tandem feeding too. Any advice? so far, no sore nipples; just a bit crampy in tummy, restless at night & gone off cups of tea. Only had one day where I've felt sick, but last time I didnt get any symptoms at all untill i was about 9 weeks.

Congratulations florabean!!!! I wish you a h&h 9 months!!! So, please share your secret-how often does lo feed? Have you had your periods back and if so for how long???
So happy for you! Xx

Thankyou everyone

I got my periods back at 10 & a bit months.... the first 2 were really light & hardly there, the rest have been heavy, painful & lasting 6-8 days :( Then my last period was 'normal' at last, lol. My son feeds a minimum of 3 times a day, but can be up to 10 times a day if we're sat at home doing nothing all day, lol. But generally it's 3-4 times a day average & he's 19 months old. We've not used any contraception at all since way before harry was born, so NTNP all that time really... I figured it was only a matter of time before a lil bean stuck (& hopefully stays stuck!). No secrets, no planning sex around ovulation or anything. just doing it as n when we felt like it & kinda hoping for the best, lol.

Congrats again flora!!

We plan on trying when DH gets back but I know it won't be happening anytime soon. I've been using a CBFM and my luteal phase is only 9 days. :( So not gonna happen yet. And DH deploys again this November so only 5 months to try. :growlmad:

Good luck trying in the next 5 months then hun. xxx I just got an odd pic in my head of you & your hubby putting Emma to bed early every night so you can do it all the time! I'll keep my finger's crossed for you cleck!

Hi all , room for a little one?

We are very sneaky about finding time to :sex: too. Whenever Emma falls asleep in the car, we pull it into the garage and do it on the couch that's in our garage.:rofl:

Florabean - congrats :flower: x

Cleckner :haha::haha: Is that why you have a couch in your garage? :haha:

Mnorbury - hi & welcome :flower:

xNov30x - I never thought I'd do well with breastfeeding either. I sometimes can't believe we are at 20 months now. I dunno where the time has gone

We had a fab holiday. Just days here & there with K. :cloud9:

Is that the only reason there's a couch in the garage?? haah!

Cleck - I SO thought you were going to say you did it in the car park! I read garage as in service station :haha:

:rofl: No the couch is out there just because when we moved here we had a loveseat and a full size sofa and they wouldn't both fit in our tiny living room. So the loveseat ended up in the garage. :haha:

Shiv- We've done it in a carpark(parking lot) before too.:rofl: Not since Emma though.

Mine used to be 10 days and I took a b vitamin supplement to help lengthen it. Worth a google? I got pg with La soon after starting taking it.

We are trying again at some point, wanted to this month but husband has got ill grrrr :growlmad:

I've been taking b-complex vitamins for three months now. No change. :( I think I'm gonna be one of those unlucky women that just can't get pregnant while BFing.

What type of B-vitamins should you take? I now have about four or five days of spotting before AF and I don't think it can be a very positive sign.

I guess it's best to take a b-complex vitamin which is a mixture of all of the B vitamins. There is a thread about B-vitamins in the TTC section. It doesn't seem to work for me so far but they say in that thread that it could take up to 6 months for it to work. :dohh:
