Yay! It's lovely when you see them getting really stuck into something you've cooked for them! Looks like he enjoys mummy's cooking!

He likes the real chicken, we had the breast and potatoes with peas. I am so happy and hope he keeps that up as I thought since moving here he has not sat down for a min! seems everything else is more important and I am chasing him around with a bowl and ending up throwing food in the bin. Was nice both us sitting there eating at the same time :D

:hugs: Shiv; i hope it's just a phase for Sophia...

re sex drive, I'm glad I'm not the only one! :dohh:

Clerkner, I really dont know how you cope with hubby being away so much. My husband works away mon-fri (sometimes tues-thus though, which is better) & I miss him like crazy & feel like a I can't function properly when he's not here... On the other hand, my house is spotless when he's not around & harry tends to sleep better coz his daddy's not up n about crashing around... he has no concept of quiet, lol.

Dragonfly- it's so nice when you see LOs enjoying their food, especially self made food- makes it more worthwhile. Are you settling into your new place ok?

yeah well settled here now. Feel like I have been here ages anyway. well 2 months now. Theres a wedding at the weekend in the garden so I must have a nosey , make myself jealous. Was jealous last night when we went to see fire works in the town we sat in garden and watched them from afar and landlord was playing pool in the castle and its the biggest pool table I ever see! I could see all in there, So very jealous! invite us!!!!! lol

yeah well walking around in the chill in the garden peering up at the cheerful friends joking all in joy that was happening wasnt enough apparently lol apparently if you ask him he will invite you as he isnt like an arshole of anything. he is posh and darren accidental spoke posh the other day as he picks up on peoples accents, made me laugh!

flora- It's the same here. The house is spotless when he's gone but he seems to think I'm making that up because it's impossible to keep up with when he's home. :dohh: So I just look lazy but really I'm doing double the work with him home. And he just gets Emma riled up instead of making things better half the time.:haha: I miss him like crazy when he's gone. But I try not to complain too much because I'm still very fortunate to have such a good guy. :D

Yay William eating all your dinner! Its wonderful when they enjoy something we made them so much. Alyssa loves homemade macaroni & cheese :)

Yay William! :D

I wish Kayleigh would eat something lol... little bugger turns away and clamps her mouth shut so tight! I am just going to give up for now and get the iron drops!

I got a booklet from the Provice of New Brunswick Public Health as I called them asking about solids etc... and she sent me this booklet and some papers. I was very impressed with the wording and just wanted to share it with you all :) I posted this in the breastfeeding section too :)

Big picture of a mother breastfeeding

For the first 6 months, breastmilk is the only food that your baby needs to grow and be healthy. Breastfeeding is the normal way to feed babies.

If you give your baby any other food including infant formula, you will make less breastmilk. If you stop breastfeeding it can be hard to start breastfeeding again. Your baby will not get all of the benefits of breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding is healthy, natural, convenient, and free. It is a good way to bond with your baby

Breast milk protects your baby from colds, infections, and allergies. Infant formula does not protect babies in the same way.

Mothers who breastfeed have les risk of breast cancer, and ovarian cancer.

If you are breastfeeding, give your baby 10 micrograms (400iu) of vitamin D each day. Continue until your baby is one year old and eating foods that have vitamin D. In Canada the sun is not strong enough throughout the year for mothers and babies to make the vitamin D they need through their skin. Also, babies who are less than one year old need to stay out of direct sunlight.

Continue to breastfeed until your baby is two years old or more. Thelonger you breasfeed the more benefits you and you baby get. If you are thinking of using inafnt formula , get all the facts forst. Breast milk protects your baby`s health in ways that formula does not.

If you decide not to breastfeed, use an infant formula that has iron added`(iron fortified). Talk to your health care provider about infant formula and your babys health. Ask for information on how to:
reduce infections; and
prepare infant formula safely

There is also information on growth spurts too :) Explains that its not a sign they are hungry for solids and that it would be too early to start solids before 6 months and that it will not help them sleep through the night. It says to breastfeed more often during these times. I really like this! I found it really reassuring :D

Me too! I was very impressed with that! :D I had Jacob's grandmother (his father's side) not OH's... anyways, she asked me with this gross tone to her voice when I planned to stop breastfeeding! I said when she decides to and she began to talk about a tv show, desperate housewives, how a 5-6-7 year old was on there breastfeeding... and how gross it was. Basically putting me down in her stupid sick way! She used to be an RN in her non stupid days! Grrrrr... stupid people!

Love how they recommend BF until 2! Yay Canada! (Gosh I miss home sometimes!)

it wasn't just recommending it until 2 years that i was impressed with, I think it gives really good advice about what happens if you give formula - ie you will make less milk. I didn't realise the biology of it, and i think if more women understood that when your baby feeds more it is to produce more milk in the coming days, not that instant, then a growth spurt would make more sense! did that ramble make any sense? No-one tells you how it works! I found out from here and kellymom. I had to tell my friend who is a g.p (doctor) about growth spurts and how it is your baby putting in an "advance order" for a few days time!

Yay William! :D

I wish Kayleigh would eat something lol... little bugger turns away and clamps her mouth shut so tight! I am just going to give up for now and get the iron drops!

have you thought about Baby led weaning? We've been doing it since 5 1/2 months and my los is great at it. She can decided what goes in her mouth and when etc. Makes a lot more sense to me than traditional weaning.

I'm not too sure how to do BLW. I am so scared she will choke, and I do not have CPR lol
