Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

 I agree. The marathon BFing days were SO nice! At the time, I hated it so much. I would cry by the end of the day because I'd be so sick of nursing. But honestly, it was great. I always had sex & the city in the dvd player and I'd sit and watch it straight through the seasons over and over. Now I'm lucky to finish a movie.

we are over the 6 month mark! :( to soon. im already getting comments of people thinking she doesnt need it any more. im slightly worried her two bottom teeth are coming in and i really dont know what to expect

Sophia was no trouble with her bottom two teeth, didn't even notice any difference. I did feel her top two coming through, not becasue she bit me but just because her gums got so hard. She now has 6 teeth (2 bottom and 4 top) and she has never bitten me so it is much better than I expected.

She has taken to pinching my nipple though, she thinks it is hilarious! sometimes if i am quite full and she grabs it milk spurts out and she laughs her head off - however do not!

no prob with teeth here, and william has them all nearly. i think once like a week ago be bit me while latching but its no biggy.

Shiv- Emma's ultimate favorite game is pinching my nipple. I sleep topless and every morning I wake up to her pinching my nipples. She just stares at them and pinches. Than when I wake up and see her she laughs and laughs. And she will feed on one boob and pinch the opposite nipple. She will actually throw a small tantrum when I stop her from doing it. :dohh: We were walking out at the zoo(of course right?) and she reaching in my top and dug her little hand into my bra to find my nipple and pinch it. She's obsessed. DH thought it was funny until she started doing it to him too. :haha:

LOL, I thought I was the only one with a baby who thought my nipples were funny :haha:

Kira will get a big grin on her face if I let her touch my nipple. One time I had just finished nursing her laying down, and she sat herself up and her hand leaned on my boob and some milk squirted out. She thought that was the funniest thing ever :haha:

Oh, and I do miss those marathon feeding and boob nap days :) I watched soooo much tv! Also, I could go shopping anytime with her in the Moby and latched on.

I still shop with Emma breastfeeding at the same time. Although she's finally getting to the point that I can't hold her quite as long in one arm like before. I can still do it but I get achy a lot faster. I miss my moby. Do you still wear Kira, spidey? I use my babyhawk now and finally had to pack away the moby.

I feel the same some days too  but we don't have much solids, some days Kayleigh just has momma's milk still as she hasn't been interested much in solids yet.
Ronan's enthusiastic although I think half of that enthusiasm is that he just wants to stick anything he can into his gob and it's just a bonus if it happens to taste good!

I have a bad habit of forgetting to eat for long periods of time so it's actually really hard work for me to plan ahead and think about meals! The monkey has been going through a 'phase' lately too so I'm exhausted trying to keep up with him. Flopping down on the couch and putting my feet up while he nurses is just so much easier.

I do that too, it's so nice to just sit down, feed and snuggle! Kayleigh will eat things like toast (well chomp on some) but doesn't seem to eat much, I think she just likes to put anything in her mouth too.

Welcome hivechild!! I'm the same way about missing the exclusive breastfeeding days. Although Emma has a hearty appetite for solids so I don't think I could keep up with her anymore. :D

 Is it bad that I've actually had moments recently where I missed the nursing marathon days where I could just sit for hours watching tv and movies while he nursed and napped then nursed some more and was completely oblivious to everything going on around him?

Nowadays if he even hears our dog shift or make the slightest noise he pops off the boob and all but flips out of my lap as he tries to find where the dog is...and then continues to pop off periodically to check that he's still there...and then pops off to grin and stare at the (sleeping) dog and just when I figure he's had enough and pull my bra up, he swings back around and faceplants into my bra and looks perturbed that I packed his lunch away. :dohh:

haha! I'm there too! Kayleigh is so nosy! She is in love with the dog and cats, so if she hears them at all she pops off and has to look around, or if someone comes into the room, she is looking around and watching them, but if I put boob away, she doesn't look too impressed :p

Kayleigh is doing the nipple pinching too! She grins too, little bugger lol

I haven't worn Kira in awhile. I tried doing a back hold in the Moby a couple of weeks ago and she wanted nothing to do with it. I also have a baby bjorn front carry, and I wore her in that outside for a short time since I needed 2 hands, but I never really liked that carrier to begin with and my shoulders were sore when I was done. In the stores she LOVES being in the little seat in the cart, so a few months back I bought a cart cover from Amazon, so when she sucks on the edges I don't have to worry about germs! Thinking about it, I haven't fed Kira in public in quite some time... I think the last time was in the mall and she was so distracted that I gave up and took her out to the car. We have car feeds all the time though :)

Cleckner- I can imagine how hard it is to bf while walking through stores still! I think Kira and Emma are close in weight, and carrying them in one arm is quite hard! Our mommy muscles can only do so much :haha:

 I am SO relieved! I thought Alyssa was the only one who thought nipple pinching while nursing was amusing. She reaches into my nursing bra and tries to have a twiddle while having a drink on the other side. I, however, do not find it nearly as funny :haha:

I find my nips so sensitive I don't want them touched, and sometimes when Kayleigh grabs them, it hurts so bad, then other days I don't even notice at first lol.

Oh great, so she won't grow out of it? :dohh::rofl:

spidey- How much does Kira weigh? The last time we weighed Emma on the wii she was 18.3 lb. That was about 3 weeks ago. :D

William has ditty nipped me a few times! now that hurts when you have sensitive nips

Cleckner- Kira weighs 20 1/2 pounds on my scale. We see the doctor Monday and I'll get the official weight then although my scale seems to match the doctors scale pretty good :) So her and Emma aren't too far off! Actually, Kira has only gained a pound since her 9 month checkup! She was 30" at her 9 month checkup, so she's tall and thin overall.

So far no nipple pinching here! I hope it's not a habit he suddenly develops. My nursing necklace successfully keeps him from yanking on my hair and such though so maybe that'll be enough to fend off the pinching, too!

Looking back, I think a nursing necklace would have been an excellent buy. When we have baby #2, I reckon I'll invest in one.

I use a set of beads someone got for me on hols, much cheaper than them bf necklaces.
William likes to run toy cars up my boobs while feeding.
