Breastfeeding Support - 6 months and beyond!

Well i had my first post 12 months breastfeeding comment today and it was a positive one. I was at OH's nan's and got my boob out and she said "you're still feeding her?" to which I said yeah, if she wants it and carried on. She then said "You've done so well, it's amazing" and I just said "it's no skin off my nose to feed her, it is no effort at all to do it! So i shoudl be happy that i got a positive reaction, but it has left me feeling me a bit, well bemused. i think I am doing a great thing for Sophia, I however don't think i am great, if that makes sense, i am just carrying on doing what my boobs were made to do, nothign really amazing about it! does that make sense at all?

you dont need patted on the back for something your meant to do. Its nice but then again if it was more normal no one would be congratulating. I just see it as me feeding my baby end of.

I agree. The marathon BFing days were SO nice! At the time, I hated it so much. I would cry by the end of the day because I'd be so sick of nursing. But honestly, it was great. I always had sex & the city in the dvd player and I'd sit and watch it straight through the seasons over and over. Now I'm lucky to finish a movie.

Edit: Maybe your ticker just doesn't show days but just months and weeks instead.

Well remembered! William is a day older than Emma (Aug 10th), but the Lillipie tickers won't work from my computer - its an Apple and the site says they're not compatible, or did the last time I went on anyway!

I am SO relieved! I thought Alyssa was the only one who thought nipple pinching while nursing was amusing. She reaches into my nursing bra and tries to have a twiddle while having a drink on the other side. I, however, do not find it nearly as funny

Harry's a bit of a nipple pincher too, which is usually followed by him having a conversation with my boob, randomly laughing & then latching back on... strange little boy, lol!

Can't remember if I said, but I think I got my AF back last week (I say think coz it was just short of 2 days of spotting, so not 100% sure?) BUT, the good thing is that I think some of you ladies were right- I think some of my sex drive is coming back, FINALLY!!!! Hubby & I DTD last night for only the 2nd time since Harry was born & it was good, lol. Hopefully this will carry on & I can officially say we're NTNP now

Another teeth question- once they get teeth, do you have to be more careful with their latch so you don't get accidently injured, so to speak? Or do they just instinctively know to keep their teethypegs out of the way, lol?

Emma started biting the week before her teeth showed up under the surface. I knew something was up because she started biting out of nowhere. So maybe Kayleigh's are on the way!! <---- Just for you.

And I've always been the same way about But DH is gone so my vibrator is getting plenty of use instead.

Okay maybe not my business but are members allowed to have two profiles? Cause there is a woman in the BFing section that used to post all the time and than she disappeared and now there is a woman with a very similar name posting again and I think it's the same woman. She was never banned or anything but it just seems odd. I ask you girls because some of you I know have been around on here for a while and might know. She signs her name the same way and everything. I searched back for the old member just to check.

Well her old name is MelanieF and the new name is MelanieAnn or something like that. It's not really my business I guess. It's just odd because the old Melanie was always in the breastfeeding section and had really good advice but kind of pushed it on people. And she'd always sign her name at the bottom. Now this woman is the same way. Kinda pushy with her breastfeeding advice and signing her name at the bottom. I looked it up and MelanieF hasn't posted since December so maybe she just forgot her login info and made a new profile. Again not my business. I'm just nosy I guess.

oooh, I guess if it is the same person, it could just be that she forgot her old log-in info? I remember melanieF though- I agree though that she had some good advice but was a bit pushy & sometimes it upset people... i think she was just very passionate about the whole BFing thing?

anyways... Harry's got 1 tooth (at the bottom) but after a really freaking lousy night with him last night, I noticed 2 more white marks, 1 at the bottom & 1 at the top that look like little ulcers on his gums, so I'm guessing within the next coupl of days, his next 2 teeth will be coming through too. I feel like I'm feeding a newborn again as he was quite literally attached to me all night & most of this morning... he's more chilled out now though thankgod.

Have any of you lot BF for over 2 years yet? I said to OH lastnight that it'd be awesome to make it past 2 years & he kinda made a weird face like he thought it would be weird or something... Which seems odd since he's very pro self weaning ? what do your OH's think of extended BFing?
