Canadian Moms & Moms to be!

I agree, it is silly maggs! Ive been a member of this BB since I had my daughter and even back then the doctors in the UK really seem to hand out the meds for reflux! I was really pissed when I had to fight will all the doctors here and none would give us anything... Actually one of the peds did end up giving Peyton something finally, but it actually never helped the vommiting anyways.

Didn't snow too much thank goodness. Anna is excited to go play in the backyard though.
Anyone notice with their kids they have learning spurts? Anna has had a week of Einstein genius.

Wow about the reflux meds! It seems over here they give it out to anyone and everyone who complains of their baby being upset in any way! I have reflux and have done for about 10 years now and it bloody well is painful! Is she spitting up loads or just crying and in pain a lot? The poor dear! Get a second opinion maybe? Could you raise the mattress in her crib slightly, that's one of the biggest things they suggest

Well she doesn't actually spit up much. It was an Infant Development Specialist at a Moms of Multiples meeting who suggested that silent reflux could be the cause of Clara's crying, but my dr said she was wrong.

I tried to get reflux stuff for Claire as well (was convinced it was that) and the doctor here told me that there is "no such thing". Which is BS, because I've known other ladies to get it.

:cloud9: Your avatar is adorable Tiff

Did last night go any better overall Maggs? You sound a bit more rested today?? :hugs:

sorry no advice on the reflux meds :(

we've had a good day so far here :)

I would ask for a second opinion then. If it is that, she'll be so uncomfortable!

Tiff--is that girl your Claire? She is gorgeous!!

Vickie--Thanks :hugs: we are feeling better today. Jack was awake about every half an hour from about 3 on after he'd pooped so in the bed with me so we could both get some rest. No more illness for me and Jack has pooped twice but 2nd one seemed a bit more solid. And he shared a few tastes of my homemade chicken soup at supper time :) So think he'll have some tomorrow.

Stay tuned...will be back on after to share my delightful  visit with my inlaws earlier!!!

Thanks! :cloud9:

Maggs - Yes, that's Claire. That's also our bunny, Jj. :haha: My friend who did our wedding photos came over with her two little ones and did some Easter pics for us. That's just one of them, I can't wait to see the rest! Glad that you guys are having a better day today. :hugs:

:haha: I thought it was a stuffed animal, totally blanked that you have a real live bunny

Glad you are having a better day Maggs :hugs:

Awww I want to get the girls picture with a real bunny!! But we have a mommy and me photo session on Monday so it seems like overkill to do a easter one too.
That pic of Claire couldn't possibly be any cuter!!!

Tasha - that is terrifying! I hope you get some relief soon. Can't imagine being in pain like that all the time. :( Was it your friend that was driving, what happened with the whole, illegal part of texting and driving? :(

 the first one so reminded me of a few of us on here

That blog is so funny, Vickie. I want to figure out that drawing program she uses!

Quiet day here. Bunch of errands and nursing a mild champagne hangover.

Simon got a haircut and looks very very cute.

that blog really does crack me up

I try to save it for when I'm having a bad day as it always makes me feel more normal :haha:

it happened to pop up on my facebook this evening though and I thought that was pretty funny. I also liked the toys that put themselves away

 I love that blog too it cracks me up.

Tiff - meant to say, GORGEOUS new avatar. How did you leave that bunny at the studio? It obviously loves Claire! :bunny:

Awww thanks Sarah! The "studio" happens to be my front hallway, lol. And the bunny is actually ours! That's Jj. :cloud9:

We rescued him from the humane society about 4 years ago or so? It was while I was pregnant with Claire, during the early summer. He's such a good bunny (not sure any of them can be bad???) and I was SO impressed with how Claire was with holding him!

Vickie - Ahhhh I love Parenting with Crappy Pictures! Makes me feel like less of a Fail Mom. :haha:

Very funny blog! So glad we have blackout curtains here. Daylight in the summer time can last till 10 pm or later where we're a tad higher up latitude wise than I was in NS.

Tiff--Yea I really love that picture, the bunny is so adorable! We got a kitten when I was pregnant, she'll be a year next month but a bloody pain in the ass sometimes. Don't know what I was thinking! haha

Right, sorry I didn't get back on again last night to moan about my in-laws visiting. Jack went to bed a bit later and DH and I watched the latest episode of Alcatraz we'd recorded then I went to bed. So far so good today, we're considerably better!!

Anyways, they showed up here about 5 mins after DH came through the door, obviously saw him drive up by (yes I live just up the road for them, which sucks as they can see me come and go and then get pissy when I don't stop in if I'm out!). And in the 45 mins they were here, here are the following points that pissed me off....

1. Within about 10 mins of being here, FIL looked out the kitchen window at the fence and commented on how we STILL haven't got it fixed after it blew over last winter. I told him it's cause we can't f***ing afford it! After the hassle we had with repairing other winter damage on the house last winter, we can barely afford anything at the moment so unless you're willing to fork out the time and effort...piss off!

2. Everytime I commented on how sick I'd been, or Jack had been my Step-MIL had to comment on how her daughter (my sis in law) was sicker. We'll call her K. So conversation went like this. Me: I've never been so sick, I'm sure I was up 20 times to the bathroom. Step-MIL: Well K was up 25 times. Me: I was awake from about 2:30am. Step-MIL: K was up at 2am! IT'S NOT A F***ING COMPETITION!!

3. They brought over £2 each for Jack and my stepson for Easter, as they weren't buying chocolate eggs for everyone. I commented on how I hadn't gotten anything for Jack for easter yet but (jokingly), he might just get diapers as he'd gone through that many with the diarrhea. At which point, she pointed her finger at me and said, don't you be buying diapers with the money I gave him!!

4. In the whole 45 mins they were here, they not ONCE asked how Jack and I were feeling. Especially him and he's been sick for nearly 2 weeks!! Not ONCE!!!!! And FIL held him for about 45 seconds right before he left and as soon as he started getting a bit strange with him, he passed him back to DH. Oh, but Step-MIL at least acknowledged him before he left. She came and said ta-ta to him while he was sitting in his highchair.

Have I mentioned I don't like my in-laws! And you wonder why!! Don't worry, my DH is fond of them either. I'd say it's about 97% of poisonous Step-MIL's influence and bitter twistedness!!!
