First Time Mommies Due February 2016 - Anyone Want to Join Me?

Thanks ladies!

Panda- It was quite embarrassing...especially since I didn't notice. One of my female employees did a cough and pointed when I got up, I appreciated that she was discrete. lol It has all of a sudden got cold here so those dresses are all put away now. Maternity clothing is amazinggggg! :)

I love love both of your boy names! They are both classic names that are cute, but not cutesy...not that I have anything against the interesting names. Just not my style. I also like that they are both family names, i'm sure your family members are honored that you did that for them.

We chose Emma-Leigh Claire K. My husband chose the first name, we agreed on Emma then he added a dash because he has one. lol At first i wasn't sure, but it has really grown on me. Claire is my mom's name. Two of my nephews are named after my dad so I thought she would be happy. We had chose Jacob Leo K. for our boy name after his dad and his uncle who passed away. I love it so if we end up with a boy in future his name is already picked. lol

I love all the names so far! :) Jules, lovely scan! DH and I have names picked out for both genders, but I'm always hesitant to share because I'm one of those "unique names" people. Most of what we like isn't completely out there, but after being one of four Megans in my grade I want to give my LO a name that isn't too common. That and DH has a huge family so names have already been taken...

I had a 12-hour workday today; had parent-teacher conferences after the normal school day ended. Add a 45-minute drive home on that and I'm ready for bed!

Panda- lol, my flower beds haven't been weeded. But the lady that lived here before us wasn't much of a gardener. So everything pretty much needs to be redone. The chickens don't need much extra work- I've heard you're doing it wrong if it takes you more than 15 minutes to care for them daily. Unless it's coop cleaning day, which usually is every month to 6 weeks. They are truly hilarious animals and a joy to see grazing in the yard every night when I come home.

dustergirl- I hope I didn't offend you! I am most definitely not against the more unique names...just not my usual style. I hope that school is going well and all your students are pretty much adjusted by now. I know you must be super exhausted!

I can't believe I've been gone so long - missed so much fun news! I've been sick with a cold and honestly just depressed. It's beyond time to talk to a doctor and accept anti-depressants. I'm starting to get scared about post-partum depression since I already have a head start. My scan is on Monday, so maybe that will be a pick-me-up. The tech thought it was a girl a month ago, so it'll be an adjustment if that info changes. We're already referring to it as Rosie. I'm not seeing Rose translating well into a boy's name :)

Duster - that's so fun that you have such an active baby! Are the chickens a lot of work? Have you ever seen Silkies? I want them. Dh says they look like muppets.

Panda - congrats on a boy! Clothes are not fitting me well either this week.

Jules - what a nice scan pic! I loved the scavenger hunt story! I laughed at your dress ripping. I don't know why I'm pushing the clothes I have right to their limit! It is just a matter of time before that happens to me. I just haven't felt like shopping.

Pri - Your announcement pic is so funny. Love it. Congratulations on your boy!

And Cax - congrats on your girl!

It's so fun seeing all the names - it's crazy that we're halfway there. I'm all over the place on names. I love the vintagey-classic ones and I also love the really out-there names. I especially want to hear Duster's "unique" names :)

Oh, and can't wait to hear about Fading's wedding and honeymoon. Hope you're having a blast.

Happy Friday, ladies!!!

Annie:
yes, please talk to your doctor and be open and honest with them!
It is the best way to approach it and the quicker, the better! And go shopping even if you are not feeling like it, shopping always makes us happy! haha
good luck with your scan on Monday and I agree that Rosie would not make a good boy's name! Finger crossed she is still a girl!!!!!!:hugs:

Duster:
I hear you on wanting unique names after having 4 others with your name on your classroom! and yes, coming from a big family, choosing names can be a challenge. Please feel free to share them with us, we would LOVE to hear them!

Jules:
I loved your name too!!! I like the - it is different and very cute! And we have a name picked out for a girl whenever or if this happens for us :)

Panda:
yes, maternity clothes are the best! I told you ladies when I bought my first pairs that I was in :cloud9:

Tks for liking Ben Nelson, ladies!!!! I really like Ben, but Nelson is still growing on me, but I wanted to honor my husband, honoring his grandpa!

Anyone already thinking of starting an online registry, thinking of when to do a baby shower?
I know some of you even announced the pregnancy yet to everyone, and here I am already thinking of baby shower ! haha
That's just me!!!

So, I just came back from my dentist appt and as expected, i will have to extract my tooth.

They put me on antibiotics again and they will extract it THIS MONDAY afternoon!
I'm still wrapping my mind on it!

Also, I dont remember if I mentioned here, but hubby and I decided on a date for my C-Section. We will do 1 week before my due date, so Ben will be born on February 10. :happydance:

Jules- no offense taken at all! I hope I didn't come across that way. :/

Annie- the chickens aren't much work once fully feathered. If you brood them (baby chicks to fully feathered, not with a hen) that part is the most work because you have to keep them warm, sheltered, and their butts clean. But after that, it doesn't take much to keep them happy. We were lucky because we have a pole barn on the property we purchased, and just converted one of the 2 horse stalls into a coop for them. We also have 10 acres so we let them free-range ańd they never go far. We take care of them 2x/day but just to let them out/put them away, and make sure they have food and water. The coop is easy to clean because their poop dries out and is easy to shovel with the shavings. I have seen silkies- they look ridiculous but are not good layers- which is what we got ours for. We do have five Easter Eggers, though, which are supposed to lay colored eggs (blue, green, pink) once they start. But I have heard they start laying pretty much last of all the breeds...

Pri: ugh, good luck with the extraction! Congrats on the birth date being set, though!

So we have 1 name for a boy chosen, and 2 possibilities for a girl. DH and I are both musical, so they are based in music. Boy: Dorian (a type of scale) James (a family name for DH). Girl: Lydia (lydian is a type of scale) Mae (my great aunt's name; I'm a fan of old names) or Hannah Jane (the name of a Hootie and the Blowfish song from the album DH taught himself to play guitar on). Hannah is a little too common for me but I'm considering it. I like the name Boston for a girl too but will consider that for subsequent pregnancies. :)

Hello ladies,
CONGRATS, you almost half way done.:flower:
Panda, big hugs for you from me. We thought we would never get pregnant but we did. Congrats for never giving up and congrats for having sooo much patients waiting for your miracle.

BRONSEN is 9 months old and he is perfect, busy, crazy big boy. I have tears of joy almost every day.:cloud9:

I want to tell you my experience about breastfeeding.
It was very tough cos my nipples were very sensitive, every single breastfeeding was very very painful, sharp, stabbing pain. The baby fed every 2 hours at night. I put some linolin cream, and I just bit my teeth together and suffered through. My nipples even started to crack. My cousin quit breasfeeding after 4 weeks for the same reason. I didnt. After 6 weeks, the baby started to sleep through the night and my nipple pain was gone.
SINCE his birth till 6 weeks he was crying after eating we thought it was his tummy and my mom thought he was still hungry. SO she told me to give him some formula, I DIDNT. IT was the best thing I have ever done. If I gave him formula, my milk supply would decrease.
I had lots of milk, I had to pump my beasts at 6 am cos they got very full.
I am still happily breasfeeding and I hope to keep going till next Spring.
It is so rewarding, it is so bonding experience. It is sooo convenient....My milk is sooo sweet. My hubby even drinks sometimes.
I wish you smooth and easy breastfeeding, ladies:hugs:

Annie- I'm sorry that your having a hard time. Just be open with your doctor and I am sure they will be able to help. :hugs: Good luck on your scan!! :)

Pri- I've been thinking a bit about the registry. We aren't doing an online one, LJprobably just one at Babies R Us. I keep putting off going because I feel like its still too early. I was thinking about going after our next u/s Nov. 5th. I will be 25 weeks so that should be a good time to start...not that I haven't been looking online. lol

That sucks that you have to get a tooth taken out! I hate the dentist!!! lol So exciting that you have a definite due date..eek!!! :)

dustergirl- I love all of your names! :) I also love that they have a background that is meaningful to you guys. :) When I said unique, I was thinking names more like cookie or orangellow (yes, I had a child in my day care named that). lol

AFM: We finally announced the gender to our family. It feels so good to let everyone finally know, though I am happy we waited as it let us get super excited all over again! :) I called all of our really close family/friends then I put up an announcement on fb.

Hi everyone! I hope everyone and their babies have been doing good. :)

Our wedding and honeymoon was amazing. We ended up having great weather for both. And we got to do so many things in the Canmore/Banff/Lake Louise area on our honeymoon. Although our trip home wasn't the greatest..
Last night we were literally about 15 minutes away from our apartment and got rear-ended on the highway. Thankfully nobody got hurt, we are just a bit sore. (I can't say that for our car though.. I have a feeling it is going to be written-off). We went to the hospital just to be safe and they did an ultrasound for me. Baby was moving around a lot with a strong heartbeat and there was no damage or separation to the placenta.
Then today was my anatomy scan and he was still looking great and moving so much. They couldn't tell me much (only my midwife can release the information to me) but they said he was measuring ahead a few days at 21w2d and is currently breech.
Once I got my professional wedding photos back I will share a few.

Wow, so much new information!

Dovkav: thanks for checking in! Very excited to be halfway! I can't believe you already have a 9mo old. Love the name Bronsen. Time flies! I definitely plan to breastfeed so hearing experiences helps. My gyno offered me a free online class so I think I'm going to do that.

In general:
Are any of you ladies taking breastfeeding/birthing classes? I think we are opting for all online ones as we don't want to take up a lot of time going to hospital for the classes. Our hospital offers them online even though there's a fee, but it seems easier to do together on our own time. They do offer a tour and walk-through of the hospital and birthing area so I think we will do that so we know where we are going and what to expect.

AnnieMac: I'm sorry you are feeling down. Has this been mostly since pregnancy due to the hormones? I hope doc can offer some help. Definitely a common thing and they should have some good advice and treatment options. I went through some depression while going through IVF failure and read an article that also helped me. It said that completing tasks gives you a natural chemical high so set yourself a small task each day you can complete and enjoy the results of. It helped me a lot. Sometimes it was just doing a silly puzzle, sometimes making something crafty, or even just cleaning out a drawer. Has to be small so you can complete it in a short time. It helped me even though getting started was always hard, finishing did give me a good feeling and helped me re-focus and feel productive. I def don't think it's a substitute for treatment from doctor, but maybe sometime to try as an additional help. P.S. Love the name Rosie!

Xfading: So glad your wedding and honeymoon were great! So scary to get rear-ended while pregnant, but very happy every thing is okay and it must have been an extra relief to have the anatomy scan right away to make sure. Def post pics!

Duster: Love the name choices! Not that weird at all! My husband is now leaning back and forth between Jason and Lincoln for first name so I think we may have a few options before we get to our due date.

Pri: I have filled out most of my registry on BabyList because they let you put on items from all different stores including BabiesRUs and Amazon and even Etsy. There's a few more items to add, and then I think I will need to check everything again later to make sure it stays in stock since shower is not until January 9. My aunt is hosting it and I told them I DON'T want a surprise, lol, because my friends and family already surprised me for my wedding shower and it was totally fun, but very disorienting to be thrust into the center of attention when not prepared.

It's hard planning a shower around the holiday season isn't it? Everyone is so busy! I feel like ours is happening late in the game, but I guess I'm not sure what the norm is.

Jules: Congrats on telling family and going public! That must have been fun! LOL to having a kid named Orangeyellow in your daycare. That is definitely unique!

AFM:
Am I the only one who hasn't announced on Facebook yet? Anyone else?

Hubby and I spent some of the weekend making nerdy archery "props" for our announcement pic. I made a tiny baby sized arrow quiver (I work in leather sometimes for fun craft projects) and faux arrows and we made a tiny sized baby bow from a stick and string. Now we just need a sunny day to go take the photo. Hopefully this week. I can't wait to share.

My big news is that I just suddenly had 2 days in a row of a lot of movement all of the sudden this week and realized that those "flicks" I'd been feeling are def more pronounced and def baby movements. Really obvious now. The best part is I could feel some kicks with my hand and so hubby was able to as well!! It's still very sporadic, but it was so fun to share with him. He was so excited!!! Now he just wants to feel my belly all the time!

We are signed up and will be taking prenatal classes in November. And I would like to go to a few breastfeeding classes as well. I don't think I'm ever going to be prepared enough.

Panda: That's awesome that you're feeling more movement and that your husband was able to as well.
I just stared feeling obvious wiggles a few days ago. And I swear I just felt two kicks. But nothing from the outside yet.

Pri- how did the extraction go? Hope you're doing alright!

Jules- love your gender announcement!!!

xfading- so glad to hear everything went well for you; looking forward to seeing any pics!

panda- congrats on the movement! And aw yay archery! I have been involved with an archery program in my county since fifth grade; once I aged out I became a certified leader so that is near and dear to my heart!

AFM: I still haven't done a facebook reveal about being pregnant! Since DH and I are Packers fans I want to have us dressed in our jerseys, holding one of the little outfits we bought with a caption of "Welcoming our Little Kicker February 2016". I haven't seen anything like it out there and came up with the idea on my own! I wanted something original and it came to me in the shower- all my good ideas happen while in the shower, lol. I'm also getting the crap kicked and punched out of me every night between 6 and 9pm. I would swear this child is already a martial arts champion!

The pregnancy insomnia due to hunger is back.. ugh.

I am planning on BF'ing and is actually one if the things I am looking most forward to. I don't know that I will take a class, though- most likely just a birthing class. I also know my birthing location already as my OB is only cleared at one hospital. I would like to do a tour, though!

Sorry for any typos- I hate them but I'm on mobile and it's 3:30am, with me ready to fall back asleep. :)

Panda:
I just stared feeling obvious wiggles a few days ago. And I swear I just felt two kicks. But nothing from the outside yet.

Mine went from obvious to hard enough kicks to feel in just 2 days so it happened super fast. I was expecting hubby not to feel for weeks. But the really obvious kicks are VERY sporadic for me (not every day) although I do feel some kind of movement every day now.

duster: Love the Packers idea! Can't wait to see! Very cool that you like archery. We love it! We go stump shooting in our woods or sometimes go to our local archery store that has a range.

I can't wait to take out birth announcement photo. It's nice out today so as soon as hubby gets home we're going out to woods to set it up! I wish there were a few more fall leaves, but I don't want to wait any longer. I'm excited to finally go totally public.

Panda- So exciting your getting lots of movement!! I can't wait to see your announcement! :)

fading- Let us know how they go! I just got information at the doctors for those classes so I think I'm going to set them up for early Dec.

duster- I love that announcement idea! Thank goodness for great shower ideas! :) Too funny about your martial arts baby, I think I have one too. lol

I had my 20 week appointment. She went over a packet with classes and an idea for a birthing plan. So weird to think that that the halfway mark is here!!! I definitely have a wiggle worm, she kicks and wiggles all over the place now...she better enjoy the space while she can. lol It was confirmed when it took 5 minutes to get her on the doppler because she just wanted to kick and wiggle. I love it!!

Hi Ladies!!

looks like I have a lot to catch up!! you were busy in here!!! :)

Jules:
I looooooved your announcement pics. Soo cute!

Panda:
the archery is such a good idea and very unique!!!!

Duster:
I really like your name pics! Very original, but not crazy!

Fading:
Welcome back and I'm so glad wedding and honeymoon went well! and I'm sorry for the car, but the most important thing is that you 3 are ok!

Annie:
Hope you are feeling better!!! Praying for you :hugs:

Yayy for all of you that are all feeling movements. And Panda, so cool your hubby could feel it too. I feel some movements now and then, but no kicks yet.... strange..... :(

AFM:
I survived the extraction, but it was horrible. Because of the pregnancy, they use a different anesthesia that wears out in 15 min. I could feel the stitches!!!
Then, only tylenol for pain... it was horrible! but getting better already and I could actually eat solid food today.
My belly is definitely growing, but I dont feel the baby too much.. I will do the doppler tonight.

I started the registry online as well, and we are undecided whether to do the shower beginning to mid December or January.
The Bump also allows you to sync different registries.

Hope you all have a great night!!

Pri: I'm glad the is extraction over, but Tylenol only must have been rough. I hope the pain and soreness goes away quickly.

Here's the Facebook announcement we posted. We had fun making it :)
