First Time Mommies Due February 2016 - Anyone Want to Join Me?

Duster and those with headaches: My doc said taking Tylenol with a small cup of coffee or caffeinated tea is best as the caffeine helps the tylenol with the headache. i have been taking tylenol with just a small cup of plain black tea (40mg caffeine and well under the daily limit for pregnancy) when I start feeling any headache and I have been able to keep all headaches at bay including migraines!

Anniemac: I'm with you about feeling like this pregnancy is not going very fast. I think it's still just such a shock it's actually happening! Even though I have a bit of a tummy now, I keep questioning it and wondering if it's actually getting bigger. But then my phone app says how many days pregnant I am . . . 116 days! I can't believe I've already been pregnant that long!!!

You know I feel like everything is going by so slow, but over the past week or so I feel like it's starting to pick up. September is flying! I feel like for the first few months when I told people how far along I was they would look at me like I wasn't even pregnant like..oh,your only 8 weeks that's still very early which made me anxious to want to be further along. Now every one is..wow, your almost half way! I think that once we hit the halfway mark its going to start flyinggg, especially with the holidays coming up. :)

I agree, Jules!

In the beginning each week was like a month, but it definitely feels it is going faster now.
But I wont deny the fact that for me, September 17 cannot get here soon enough!

My husband and I reading the app, when he read we are almost half way there, he almost jumped! This really hit him! :haha:

Well, wishing you all a great weekend!

Fading:
let us know how your scan goes on Monday and of course, which team you will be!!!!
:blue: or :pink: !!!!!

Oh, and those with headaches and migraines, ask your doctor about adding Magnesium supplements to your diet!!

I heard of people that became migraine free with no meds, just adding magnesium!

Found out this yesterday, actually :)

Thanks for the advice about the headaches, ladies! I have been taking Tylenol but almost more than I'm comfortable with.

Panda- I have tried stool softeners and laxatives when I had foot surgery in the past... the stool softeners did nothing for me and the laxatives gave me the worst panic attacks. Never again.

Yay for the weekend! Finally much cooler here which is amazing for my classroom :)

Hi Ladies, hope you are having a good weekend!

So I had the worst muscle cramp on my left calf on Friday night and I am still limping!
Anyone having leg cramps?
Any suggestions?

I had trouble in the past with them, but I could always manage them.
Now I had one Friday morning and another Friday night and it was horrible!

Anyway, excited for finding out the gender this week. Are any of you doing a gender reveal party or picture?

Hi Pri. I have read that leg cramps can be helped by taking in extra potassium. They recommend bananas, but avocados are even higher in potassium so I've been trying to eat avocado regularly.

Excited to see all upcoming gender news!

AFM: I woke up this morning feeling really exhausted like I'm coming down with something and I have a scratchy throat. I think it may just be allergies as I always feel sick when the weather changes to colder. Well it dropped from 90s to 60s and chilly overnight. Anyone have tips on easing allergies/ scratchy throat? I've just been doing tea with honey.

In happier news, I was in the mall today shopping for work (I'm doing some freelance work for 3 days) and I caught my reflection in the mirrors while going up the escalator and it was the first time I've ever really noticed a baby bump in the mirror without pulling my shirt tight against me. I had a loose t-shirt on and yet it was poking out. It's not big, but it made me feel like I'm actually starting to look pregnant!

Still no movement that I'm sure of. I had some "pokes" but I can never tell if those are just weird muscle twinges or gas or something. No definite flutters yet.

I am very happy to announce that we are having a BOY!

We were so certain i would be a girl, but boy were we wrong.
He was moving non-stop (sucking his thumb, grabbing at his feet, rolling around) and was very open about showing off his bits, multiple times.

Ultrasound tech also told me that the placenta is anterior, so unfortunately it could be a while until I start feeling big movements.

Pri- No, we are keeping gender a surprise. We haven't even revealed the pregnancy on facebook yet!

Fading: Congrats! Awesome pics. I can't wait for mine on Friday!

Pri- We haven't announced yet. We are waiting for the ultrasound then just making our rounds to family and doing something special to each one to announce. We were going to do a party, but our apt. is so small and everyone lives kinda far. I didn't want to be disappointed if no one showed up.

Panda- I hope your feeling better, colds are pretty common this time of year. Yay for baby bumps!

fading- Congrats!!!! Those are great pics. :) Sounds like you have an active little man!

xfading! Congrats on a boy! Beautiful pictures! Sounds like he has quite the personality already :)

Fading Congrats!!!!!
cute pics!!! so funny that he was all over the place!
You must have had a blast seeing your little one!!!!

So right now we have 2 boys and 1 girl on the group??
Panda and Fading - Boys
Jules - Girl
Duster - Team yellow all the way :)

Panda, sorry you are a little under the weather. Drink lots of OJ and take some Emergen-C too. It should help!

Jules, if you are planning to do something special, they will show up! Just make sure to let them know it is for something special for a few group of people and you are counting on them to show up!!! :hugs:

Hello ladies! I have been hiding a bit, but have been following along from time to time. We just found out today that we will be having a girl! I can't wait to buy her first Halloween costume!

CAx3: Congrats on girl! 2 girls and 2 boys now. Who's the next to find out? Tiebreaker! LOL

Jules: I think a reveal will be fun even if not everyone comes, a few close friends and family will make it special.

Pri: Thanks! I am so much better and relieved that the "sick fatigue" feeling only lasted 2 days. I kept wondering if I should call doctor or if I was overreacting. It seems to really just be allergies. Now I'm just waking up with scratchy throat and dry nose so I think I'm just going to put the humidifier in our bedroom early this year.

I'm anxious for my anatomy scan next week. We didn't hear anything from AFP blood test and doc said after a week "no news is good news" so I'm feeling good that that set of tests is done and so far baby seems healthy. We've been cautiously spreading the news since 2nd trimester, but we are going to announce on Facebook if all looks good on our scan.

Still not super hungry although my appetite is normal now. I guess I was expecting to be more hungry when pregnant. Where are you guys at with eating and cravings?

Hey CAx3, congrats on the baby girl!!!!!

Panda, I was going to be the tie breaker today, but I am soooooooo disappointed!! I had to re-schedule my appt for next Wed.
Hubby cant make it today, and although I could go alone, it would not just be the same... he was so sad he was going to miss it, I was so sad I was going alone, that I just felt was better to re-schedule....

so another week of wait for me!
feeling frustrated :(

awwww Pri, that's disappointing, but understand you wanting hubby to be there. Hope the week goes quickly. Excited to find out your news!

CA- Congrats on your girl!!! :)

Pri- I'm so sorry hubby wasn't able to make it and now you have to wait. I would have done the same thing. Hopefully this next week goes super fast!!

CA- congratulations! :)

Pri- so sorry you had to reschedule. Keep us updated!

AFM I had my anomaly scan today at 19+5. Bip is 11 ounces, looks perfect from what the perinatalogist can see. I have a low-lying placenta (1.5cm away from cervix) and a cyst on my left ovary that they want to monitor so I will be going back in 10 weeks for another scan. It was the first time though that I could verify that the pokes I'm feeling are really Bip! I could see the movements on screen when I was feeling the pokes.

We are staying team yellow; I originally thought girl but based on this pic it looks like a boy! Legs spread and stretched out- but I like to do that too so who knows? What do you ladies think?

Pic is attached :)

Fading and CA, congratulations! What a cute pic, Duster!

Jules - even just a few people celebrating would be fun :)

I'm sorry your appointment is postponed, Pri. So frustrating! But I'm glad you were able to get in again in just a week.

Glad you're feeling better, Panda. I'm hungry all of the time, but lose my appetite after eating just a small-moderate amount, then of course I'm hungry again shortly after. So annoying!

Hi Ladies!!

So yesterday I had 3 strangers tell me I am pregnant.! I was only feeling I was just looking fat, not pregnant, but I guess other people think differently.

Yesterday we had our bed delivered, and the delivery man actually asked me if I already knew the gender. I was like, "you know I'm pregnant?" Then he said it was a girl! it was fun but weird. At night we went to watch Disney on Ice (we got free tickets) the security lady asked me if I was pregnant, so I did not go through the screening machine, and then the lady that was sitting in front of us, asked me how far was I and if I knew the gender already! I thought it was CRAZY!!!
This Wednesday!! Yesterday we took our gender announcement picture. We took for a boy and for a girl, and then once we get the confirmation on Wednesday we will announce it with the picture :)

Duster: so cute you got the confirmation that what you were feeling were actually pokes!!!! It should be interesting to feel and see at the same time :)
It is always good to be monitored so good thing they want to keep an eye on it!! hopefully it is just precaution and all will be fine!

Jules: I dont remember if you mentioned here how you finally ended up telling your hubby it was a girl!

Hope everyone is feeling well!!!!
