Honey-Cinnamon Bumps in the Making!

I saw your baby shower pics!!! looks like you had a great time! Hope you got everything you need :) My best friend (pretty much sister) sister-in-law is having her baby right now. It makes me so much more anxious! we are exactly 3 weeks apart so its becoming so real to me now. I am ready!

I started packing my bag. I was told to pack sweat pants because that is what I will live in for the next couple of weeks after birth. I'd say wear anything comfortable to you, plus some thick socks. Pack an extra toothbrush, toothpaste, hair ties, and shower supplies. If you are breast feeding bring breast pads. I was also told to pack cheap underwear that you don't care about getting ruined. Pack comfy bras too. Pack things for entertainment or things that are going to help you relax like massage tools :) Oh and your camera or camera recorder if you want. Hope that helps haha! I probably have over packed Everlee's bag but I can't help it!

lol I packed like a month ago haha! I have comfy clothes, flipflops, basic makeup (mascara & lipstick for photos), travel sized shower stuff and cream, breast pump, breast pads, my own towel (love my winnie the pooh towel lol), 2 nighties, camera & camera charger, phone charger, book on babies, note pad & pen, maternity pads, comfy undies, underwireless bras and sports bras, formula, an assortement of baby clothes in different sizes, blanket for baby, teddy, baby carrier & instruction booklet, deodrant, nappies, toothpaste & brush, my own special shaped pillow... can't sleep without lol), folder with my medical info in, cotton wool and qtips for me.

I also have my diaper bag which contains everything but the kitchen sink lol! bottles, tommee tippee wipes and all the rest (figured if it's already packed then it will be easier to just plonk it on the pram rather than thinking about what to put in it).

My stuff fits in a small suitcase (cabin size).

Hubby will bring car seat and anything else we need. I have a list taped to front door so that when I go into labor he doen't start asking me annoying questions lol! :winkwink:

ticktok time for a baby lol!:haha:

my bag is pretty much the same as Wanna's.. we have to take linens/pillow for DH though, and we threw in a portable DVD player and some movies as we know we will be there for a few nights after baby.

Just got back from my appointment. She checked me and I am fully closed and 25% effaced. So nothing yet. Baby is still head down though! :) I will be checked again at 38 weeks.

Wanna - that's quite an extensive list

So far in my bag - dress, 2 pairs of undies, bra, nursing pads, tooth brush/paste and baby diapers....what else do I need???

guess have to choose baby going home outfit - I have lots now to choose from now that mom is back with things :cloud9:

JM - those are good news! Most likely baby will stay head down now and it's good that cervix is still closed but already effacing. My Dr. didn't say anything about effacement but I'm also closed, except that baby is so low that she could feel the head  Apparently she might be out any day if she chooses to :happydance:

Hey girls I have an idea - we should stay either on this thread or make a parenting thread once our babies start to arrive so that we can keep in touch and share photos, advice and fun stories!

We bought our boy outfit and girl outfit! I'm pretty excited about them! :) mikes grandma gave us a really special gift... The shirt mike wore that the hospital gave him the day he was born and other tiny infant clothes of his! Regardless of the gender, I will for sure take a pic of the baby in the shirt so we can compare! I bet the baby will look just like him! :)

Haven really started packing at all yet, but I did get some travel sized toiletries like toothpaste and shampoo. I still need to look at nursing bras. Are you ladies buying based on your size right now, or are you buying a size or two larger? My boobs have hardly changed at all. MAYBE half a cup size or so bigger... But I don't know of I should assume they will get a ton bigger when my milk comes in or not.

Agreed! Maybe we should start one in the baby club or parenting section... Since this is technically in the pregnancy area. We all need to stay in touch for sure! It'd be good to have a place for pics and stories and advice! We started the journey together in TTC and made it through pregnancy... Makes sense to be mommy friends too! :)

yes we def need a thread in the baby club or parenting section... I'll start one next week :)

I bought nursing bras that are just a little big on me now, I have already gone up a couple sizes so I hope they don't grow too much more!!!

Awww lucky you!!! my stupid boobs are not growing - just leaking :( So I guess I'll wait...where did you buy nursing bras? Where do I look for them and how much do they cost?

I got them at Motherhood. They are about $30 each, but they were doing a buy three get one free sale. They do sell them at places like The Bay and Sears but I found their selection really poor (like only two to choose from).

Oh ok :) 30 for a bra is a typical price anyways right? I might look into getting at least 1. Motherhood....where's that again?

greenpear- I got my hospital bag list from a few threads on here. After reading them my list got longer lol! I haven't been told ANYTHING about my clinic and what it provides so I am taking alot just incase:thumbup: As long as you have the basics that's most important. Plus I am taking formula incase my milk doesn't come in staright away. My friend had a lactation specialist pour boiling water over two diapers and wrap her boobs in them as they had gone hard after birth. 1 hour later she removed the diapers and along came her milk perfectly:thumbup: I intend to exclusively pump as I'm not comfortable putting baby to breast. But I am taking formula too as I have a make I really like as it's closest to breast milk out there Hipp Combiotic 1.

I too agree with a honey and cinnamon mummies thread! I know we are on facebook but there's alot I say to you gals on here that I would never post on facebook:winkwink:

JM- that's great news:happydance: You are progressing nicely:thumbup: My turn tonight... going to beg for induction I think. My hands are so swollen I can't hardly type and my fingers feel like they will pop out of joint eeeeek!

lol I don't hardly have any bras that fit me now! I haven't gone up loads but as I was so small before NONE of my bras fit lol! I have heard of a good make you can buy online called HOT MILK. I might try and convince hubby to buy me one from there. I need a pumping bra too so that I can pump handsfree!

shterr- u must post photos of your baby outfits! :D

Thanks ladies! I am glad that i am at least effacing :) It's a good sign. I bought my nursing bras from Target. Not sure if you girls have one. Most of my bras do not fit. They fit in cup size but not around my chest. I have gained a little bit of weight there haha. I don't want to buy much just in case I am not successful at breast feeding.

So Excited! ONE MONTH FROM TODAY IS MY DUE DATE!!! YAY! ... and someone told me that, that is the start of the Olympics... So cool! haha

Nice JM! You'll have a little pal to keep you company when you watch the games! I'll have to check out the selection at target. I'll probably just buy one or two for now and then play it by ear.

WB, I'll try to get pics up sometime this week! I wanna see what outfits you ladies have picked too! :)

Omg i'm having a baby in 15 hours!!!!!

AGH BUG!!!! I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!! I Can't wait!!!! Wishing you all the best. Enjoy your precious baby :)
