It’s been a real uphill task getting the correct care, I had bleeding from 8 weeks which I was told was an SCH, I booked in for a private scan every 2 weeks to check how things were and was gradually told I had placenta Previa. The sonographer I had was previously employed as a high risk sonographer in the local hospital so I knew I was in good hands, she gave me letters to give to my consultant who did a phone consultation and I read what it said and he dismissed it.
I had my 20 week scan and it was confirmed that I still had complete placenta previa and needed to see a consultant, there wasn’t one available so the midwife saw me instead and she’d pelvic rest etc. I went for a 4D scan again with the private sonographer and asked for her specifically, she became concerned that I didn’t have a plan and contacted the consultant she worked with in fetal medicine who called me the same day and booked me in for a high risk scan, he was apologetic and empathetic when he told me my diagnosis but I had to go to St George’s in London to see a specialist who basically gave me the full risks and a glimpse of what I had to come.
He said there are risk factors and it is higher with each pregnancy however the fact I had it diagnosed now is key in both myself and little one making it the other side.
Just always advocate for yourself, I’m happy I pressed and got this far and I’m even more grateful I met someone in the field who made my care a priority despite it not being her job.

why do I do this to myself. I really don't think it's a viable pregnancy. And should just except this is a loss.
