Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

Amy I would calll your doctor or NHS direct.

I am just wrapping Amy up so we can walk into town ... not looking forward to walking now but I am going to do it! x

I managed to get hold of my sister and she checked her medical books and its fine to take trimethoprim and BF for short periods - phew! handy to have a doctor in the family :haha:
maybe - well done for getting your application in :hugs: fingers crossed you get an interview and soon!

sarah - I'nm glad Oliver's bump has gone down :hugs:

H&F - enjoy your walk

we've just been for a walk and I timed it just right becasue the sun came out :coolio: Alex is still snoozing in the pram before we pop to the supermarket and colllect the girls from school. My sister is coming round for lunch tomorrow. She wants to a test run with Gabriel to check the route before her first day back on wednesday

Hope everyone else is having a lovely day x

Alex has been napping for nearly an hour! normally he doesnt go a minute over 1/2 hr!

Amy - yay for Alex's nap!

Well I just had a call from the wedding shop saying the likliness of changing my dress size is remote and that I would need to go in and see what the seamstress could do. I immediately rang my mum ( the next appointment isnt until next week and it sounded like they werent going to even try and change the dress!) So my mum got on the phone to the shop and to cut a long story short the woman doesnt want any of her brides upset so we are going in tomorrow instead of going to Birmingham. I have no idea what they are going to do but I hope they can do something!

We also went to tumble tots today it was great.

Right I need to go make some dinner! x

I have been trying to post all day but am still writing it  but I just wanted to say that Joni has cut her first tooth

Always one to do her own thing it is the top middle tooth on the right that has come through. The one next door looks as if it won't be far behind either.

The appearance of this new toothypeg might go someway to explain why Joni was up 12-4am last night!

frufru - yey for the tooth!!!

amy - how long did alex nap in the end?

h&f - hope they can do something about the dress

owen is not well :nope: he's had nurofen and still waking every 10mins or so crying. now dylan is crying too :dohh: another long night ahead!!!

H&F - fingers crossed for tomorrow, I hope you can sort something out dress wise :hugs: there used to be a tumble tots near me but it closed down before we could try it :(

frufru - whoop whoop for Joni's tooth :happydance::yipee: 12-4  you must be shattered! :hugs:

maybe - I woke Alex in the end as I was going to be late for school so it was just about an hour. He was really tired this evening, I think he is also coming down with something, he has mucousy poops  (sp) and a sore little bot. I hope Owen and Dylan settle :hugs:

Kerry was on about money again tonight :ignore: I managed to keep him calm. He seriously has the most bizarre ideas :dohh:

Evening!

Amy I'm glad all was okay with the tablets, soooo handy having a dr in the family!

H&F I hope you can get the dress sorted! :hugs:

FruFru YAY for the tooth!! :happydance::happydance:

I made Tuna Croquettes from the BLW book tonight and Oliver loved them! I'm quite pleased with myself :haha: I think I'm slowly getting more confident with my cooking (I'm doing it when Steve isn't about when I can and ignoring him if he's about :haha:) I made the carrot muffins yesterday too and Oliver seems to love those aswell! I'm making myself try more and more things so hopefully my confidence will continue to grow :)

We just had a quiet one, not much to report! No more bruises today thank goodness but Oliver does want to stand up all the time and cries if he can't, or if he can he cries when he wants to sit down :haha: We are collecting the playpen tomorrow night, I have a feeling it will be huge though :dohh: We were talking about moving again today but its just so complicated . . . . and they have reduced the price of the house next door which isn't good as there obviously isn't much interest. Its just been completely refurbed too and doesn't have a chain or anything so I can't imagine we'd get more than that  I think maybe we just need to make the most of where we are for a while.

I hope you all had a good day :hugs:

Amy don't worry, Kerry will have some company in the shed tonight :haha:

H&F - good news on the cot/sleep front  I hope you had a nice time at your baby classes. Well done on the hill walking. We live at the top of a massive hill and it gives me butt burn walking up it :haha:

Maybebaby - wow Owen's teeth have just rocketed through! Bummer about the car :growlmad: I hope you can get it fixed soon and for not too much more money. I think H&F is right about testing, I would have thought 10-14days.
I hope Owen feels better soon and Dylan is not poorly too :hugs:
Yay for the tips. I hope you had a nice time with your sister.

Amy - oh my goodness the calzone sounds lush :p Joni likes to rub food into her eyebrows :haha:
I am glad the pills are ok for the time being. It would be nice if the doctor could have told you that when they were prescribed  Good luck with the dry-run tomorrow.
Yay for Alex's nap  but sorry to hear he might be getting poorly. BOO to poorly babies :growlmad:
It is good that you managed to keep Kerry calm, hopefully one day he might come around **she types whilst squeezing her eyes tightly shut and wishing really really hard**

Sarah - I am glad you found a playpen to suit. A couple of my friends have the wooden ones which are super if you have the space, they are adjustable height and are great from birth to whenever the learn to escape :haha:
Joni is also a 'fall-asleep-5-minutes-from-home' baby
Poor Oliver and his bump. Blooming men :growlmad: I would have been super-peeved. Arnica cream is what you want for bumps and bruises.
It was me asking about the raisins. I have got some in the cuboard so might try Joni with them tomorrow depending on how she handles her solids at breakfast time.
The muffins and croquettes sound lush :p note to self I must get the BLW cookbook out of the library.

Emera - oh they completely massacred the plotline which I found suprising given that Terry Goodkind was consulted for the screenplay and production
I hope you found something appealing to eat. I love beans on toast, especially if I either spread the toast with marmite or stir some chipotle sauce in the beans :p Beans, beans, beans love em

Muddles - Wow your Mum is being really unfair :nope: It is completely unreasonable for her to expect you to be free to see her whenever she wants. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with your parenting skills or your choice to be a SAHM :hugs:
Baby club sounds like a great idea

I am chuffed with the jumperoo. It is the model prior to the rainforest version: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fisher-Price-H4328-Deluxe-Jumperoo/dp/B0007LD2NE I think I actually prefer this one as it will fold up which is great given that we are really limited for space

I made some rice pudding today and it is really lush. One of the cookbooks I borrowed from the library suggested using a small can of evaporated milk as part of the milk quantity. I had a can in the cupboard so thought I would give it a try and it is nice but, dare I say it, a little too sweet which is really saying something for me! I think I will just use plain milk next time and see how it turns out. I would love to lay my hands on some tapioca too, it was my favorite pudding as a kid but I can't seem to find it in the shops

We had a dreadful night last night with Joni waking at 12.30 and not going back down until 4.30 :nope: WHen I spied the toothpeg at lunchtime the restless night made a lot more sense. After such a cruddy night I would usually nap when Joni does but I had to stay up as my new washing machine  was being delivered and installed. I had hoped Joni might sleep a bit more soundly tonight as she has not made up the missed sleep from last night in her naps, but between her runny nose, cough and tooth/teeth she is stirring pretty frequently poor wee thing. Poor hubby has caught her cold too but remarkably I seem to have evaded infection yet again

Think I am going to make myself a mug of hot milk and turn in as I have a sneaky suspicion tonight will be a broken one - oh and there she is :dohh:

Oh H&F do you have to use the shops seamstress or could you get an opinion from an independent seamstress?

sarah - we've tried the tuna croquettes too  tonight we had fish pie (from the book) and Alex LOVED it :haha: he loves potato and I think he loved the texture. Good for hair smearing  Emily made a blueberry cheesecake for pudding - she loves cooking.

We'd like to move ideally. I love where I live but Alex needs his own room one day and the girls dont want to go back in together. We bought this one right at the end of the housing boom and I reckon we'd lose at least 20K if we tried to sell it :( Becasue of the location we paid more for a 3 bed house no garage, we could get a 4 bed with a garage in the village near where I work for the same price :dohh: my sister is looking at houses and it gives me such an itch to move :haha:

frufru - Alex likes sultanas and I think they are good for helping them develop their pincer grip. He seems to suck them until they go all soggy rather than biting them  I'm so glad you are chuffed with your jumperoo :happydance: I hope you keep that cold at bay and that Joni has a better sleep :hugs:

we cant afford to move :dohh: a 4bed flat is over £250,000 here :dohh: dylan and owen will be sharing til they move out :haha: if our slip up were to result in :bfp: i dont know what we'd do :dohh:

amy - :grr: to kerry for going on about money. i havent told danny i spent £50 in amazon on books and also bought an amber teething anklet. i wonder what he'll say when the things arrive :haha:

well i took owen to dr but she says his ears, throat and chest are clear and just to use saline drops and bring him back in 2-3 days if he's not better. he was up practically all night. i had to bf him and if i took my boob out his mouth he'd start screaming. am in real need of some decent  my patience with dylan and erin is not good as i am sooooooo tired. we have a bday party later and i am soooooo not wanting to sit in a room with screaming kids for 2 hours :dohh: oh well i am jus finishing some cereals and then on with the chores. the environmental people are supposed to be coming round tomorrow and i just had a call from gibraltar homes who supposedly fixed the block up that they're coming on thursday. let's see if they do anything about the mould problem.

oh and :witch: is still no show!!!

Hi everyone  hope you have all been ok

Maybe: sorry to hear Owen is poorly :hugs: I hope you are ok :hugs: Really happy to hear about his toothypeg though! He is getting so many :happydance: Can you get your Mom to watch the Owen sometime so you can get some sleep? I just realised that my suggestion to read the Taking Charge of your Fertility was very stupid. I mean I wouldn't get a chance to read it now with just Bobby! Here is a link from wikipedia maybe you can read that instead if you have some time. Good luck with the application hon, I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you

Sarah: Glad you got a playpen  It looks great! Not impressed with Steve though :growlmad: how on earth is it YOUR fault when Oliver was sitting with HIM. That's nuts :hugs: At least he couldn't blame you for the fall upstairs! I hope Oliver is ok hon:hugs:

Amy: I haven't tried Bobby with raisins yet. Hope things are going fine for you :hugs: Hope you had a nice lunch with your sister. How did it go with Gabriel?

Frufru: :happydance: for the toothypeg  for Joni! I hope your DH feels better and you don't get ill :hugs: Glad Joni liked her jumperoo! Bobby has stopped liking his and he had to take it to the attic yesterday.

Emera: Aww the image of Roh ransacking his toybox is sooo cute. Bobby likes doing that too but I have to lift him up and he lean again the box and plays with the toys. My DH used to live in Japan and I asked him about the show you watched, he hasn't seen it but says it has a catchy opening song. I actually have some Arabic cartoons I should start playing for Bobby.

Muddles: I am so horrified on your behalf hon. I cannot believe that your mother said such horrible things about you like that. Twisting your words and insulting your parenting :nope: its just terrible :nope: What does she hope to gain by this? All she is doing is pushing you away. Why would you put Oliver is nursery if you are not going back to work. Its just nuts! I am not putting Bobby in nursery either but that doesn't make me judge anybody who does! What was she like growing up hon?

Awww thanks ladies, you are all so lovely. Modo she was much like this when I was growing up too, though because I didn't know any different I believed her when she said I was an awful teenager and a complete nightmare to live with, when in fact it was just that I started to disagree with things and didn't just fall into line. Looking back now the only thing I did wrong was answer her back-I never bunked off school, I got good grades and then did my teacher training, had a lovely bunch of friends (who I am still good friends with), was always home by curfew, had a part time job so never asked for money, didn't ask for lifts everywhere, didn't hang around on street corners or in the local parks, didn't do drugs, I did drink but not to excess.... It has taken my H 5 years to convince me that I am not horrible, though I still have moments of doubt, and that I am not doing anything wrong.

Thanks again ladies, crazy to think we didn't even 'know' each other this time last year. :hugs:

Muddles: :hugs: Don't listen to her :hugs: You are a lovely Mommy and a lovely person :hugs:
