Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

Hi everyone  Hope you have all been good.

I'll post properly when Bobby is napping but just wanted to say hi :)

I lost 3lbs from Monday :happydance:

Wow well done on your weight loss ladies!!!!! You're all doing so well! My weight seems to have leveled off at very similar to my pre-pregnancy weight, so I'm happy with that for now. I tend to loose a bit of weight in the summer anyway so we'll see :haha:

Emera I'm glad you're starting to feel better :hugs:Yay for Roh's eating!! It really does sound like he's making up for lost time :haha:

Maybe I honestly don't know how you do it!!

Modo the nappies have arrived and they are soooooo pretty!!! I am going to try them over the weekend :) How do you wash them? I will wash them the same as you rather than my normal nappy wash. They seem quite complicated compared to my BG's and DreamDris, but I like how you can put the extra boosters in. I've heard of them all so its nice to see them 'in person', thankyou so much again :hugs:

We got up too late to go to the breastfeeding group :haha: The weather is a bit rubbish so we might just stay in nd pop out this afternoon when Steve is up.

I've been meaning to ask . . . does anyone know of any good websites / books for things to do with our babies now they are getting a bit older? Oliver and I play little games, play with his toys, sing songs and nursery rhymes, read books (I read them, he trys to eat them :haha:) and we watch a little bit of TV together. I was just wondering what else I can do with him? I went into the Early Learning Centre to see if they had any crayons of anything that he could use but he's soo young. Any ideas anyone?

Sarah: No problem hon :hugs:They might seem complicated at first but you do get used to them. With the Itti Bitti Tuttos I snap the inserts to the matching colour. So Yellow to yellow and purple to purple. For washing: I give them a 30 min wash with no detergent followed by a 40 min wash with a teaspoon of regular detergent or 2 teaspoon of Rockin Green then a final 30 min wash to make sure all the detergent has gotten out. I don't know if you use flushable liners but I put one in the tuttos just in case. You can reuse the wet ones and flush away the poopy ones.

Maybe: You had better get that job! That's so annoying how he already has someone in mind :growlmad: That can't be right! You clearly sound like the right person for that position :growlmad:

Modo that's great, I'll wash them like that :) I do use the flushable liners, I'll use your nappies when I'm not expecting a poop though

 its fine! It's not like you will be sending them back with poo in them  Now I am imagining my postman being very confused by the smelly package he has to deliver

Sarah there are some good things on here, though some aren't so good:

https://www.babycenter.com/baby-games-activities

At the follow on baby group that has just been set up by two mums from the baby group I had to leave as Oliver got too old had a big tray filled with shredded paper which was fun as the babies chucked it about the place, though Oliver of course tried to eat it. Today they had trays filled with paint that had porridge oats in it that the babies could squidge and push about the trays and again my baby tried to eat it! Have added the pics to my fb so you can all have a laugh.

Well done on the good weight losses ladies, I am still in need of motivation to lose that last 10lbs to be my prepregnancy weight. How long can I use the I just had a baby excuse?

Amy Hope things get easier for you being back at work and that Alex gets used to it too. Hope you manage to get back into your nursing, 4 days with the kids sounds great!

Maybe I really hope you get the job, that sucks that they could already have someone in mind for it. If that's the case then why bother interviewing you all. Can't believe someone nicked his bike. If you suspect who it is you should let Dylan lose on them! Maybe him bein really upset may trigger some attack of conscience and they will bring it back.

Emera glad you and Roh are on the mend. at him stealing your biscuits. I bet your hair looks lovely, its so nice when you have just had it done as it feels so light.

H&F :hugs: how are you feeling today? I would recommend looking on Netmums as when I felt a bit lonely I had a look on the meet a mum bit of the local section of the website. Out of the four mums I have met up with through that two have been really lovely and have become good mummy friends. The other two were very nice too but we didn't have much in common so conversation didn't flow so much. At baby groups look for the person with the friendliest face and sit next to them, it has worked for me.

Windmills that's really exciting about the club and the voluntary session. Sounds like life is going to be very exciting for you over the next few months!

Modo well done on the weight loss. How has your Mum been lately?

Sorry i have been rubbish at posting on here seem to have enough time to read through what you have all been up to then have to run because Oliver wakes up or my H wants the computer.

muddles - sounds like oliver had a good time  i am going to have a peek at your fb pics now!

modo - :yipee::dance::happydance::wohoo: for the weight loss! :wohoo::happydance::dance::yipee:

sarah - they have a ball pit in elc i have my eye on for owen. if your living room/bedroom is big enough for those pop up tent and tunnel sets maybe that is an idea. we have a tunnel, or rather had one as it got mouldy and is ready for the bin :growlmad: and dylan and erin love it. if oliver can crawl then i'm sure he'd have fun with one. owen still doesnt crawl :dohh: but he moves on his bum!

Muddles: Sounds like he had a blast! The pictures are soooo cute :D My Mom has been ok but I think its because I have been too busy to talk to her on the phone at length. Hope everything has been ok with your mom :hugs:

evening all! danny is out with his workmates so i'm watching discovery h&h and owen latched on to my boob :haha:

Emera, glad you're both better!

Well done on all the weight loss ladies! I'm just meandering along with my small losses, I don't even weigh myself but my size 12 jeans are no longer skinny but I'm terrified of buying 10s and them not fitting

Muddles that looks like SO much fun!! I wish our baby club did messy things like that. They did painting once (when we couldn't go :dohh:) and the other week they got some bowls of water . . . but they never tell us in advance so no one had taken spare / old clothes / towels etc, so only one baby played in the water. If we knew the week before we could go prepared . . . but then there are so many babies now I think there are too many to do messy play. I'm kind of looking forward to moving up to the next group now in May, with the 1 and 2 years olds. Until then I think we'll give messy play a try at home one day (when I'm feeling brave :haha:)

Maybe I've looked at the play tunnels at Ikea, they look fun! I guess we have room for it to come out now and then . . . I might look again at those. The ball pit sounds great but it would need to stay out and a) I doubt we have room and b) the cat would get in it

Katie I bet you look gorgeous anyway!! I was brave and bought some size 10 jeans from Next the other week as my 12s were getting really big, it felt soooo good when they fitted :haha:

We just had a nice quiet day here, poopy weather so we stayed in. Tonight I'm ebaying like a mad person  I've also got myself my first Bridezilla :dohh: I'm so used to dealing with them but I always said that if I worked for myself and I got the impression that the bride would be more trouble than they are worth, I wouldn't take the booking. I completely still stand by that . . . but this one is a friend of a friend so I can't really get rid of her. I've given her a really good price too and she is just such a pain in the ass!!! :dohh:

emera _ I'm so pleased o hear your naughty ears are responding to the antib's  10 lbs  thats amazing!!! would love to see a pic of your new hair. Mine is in desperate need of a cut. Great news that Roh is eating more :hugs:

maybe - urgh to being cream crackered :hugs: poor alex was so tired after all the early mornings this week, he slept till 8.15am today. unfortunately he was up 2-4 ish. And I had to get up at 7 to get the girls sorted for school :( hope you enjoy your danny free night and really hope he doesnt get too pissed!

modo - 3 lbs :woohoo: well done you :hugs:

muddles - lovely to hear from you :hugs: I loved the pic of oliver eating paint, was it special edible paint? x

sarah - I just like doing things with alex where he gets to explore new sensations. today at baby club they had sand and the crawling babies were fascinated :) Alex didnt eat it which is curious as normally everything goes in his mouth :D Alex then fell asleep on the boob but another mum let her daughter put her feet in the sand and she loved it! Bridezilla :haha: just think of the money :winkwink:

Katie - i bet you are a size 10 easy - you always look gorgeous in fb pics :hugs:

I loved being off work with Alex today, it felt like everything was back to normal. we went to babyclub but he was really tired. he's really really obviously more clingy since being left  it makes me feel utterly terrible :(
we had a nice day though, I also popped in on my mum and emily has a friend over for a sleepover tonight. they are currently giggling and chatting really loudly so I've got to be mean old grumpy mum and tell them to be quiet.:dohh:

Amy I'm glad you had a lovely day today :hugs: The sand sounds great! Bless Alex been more clingy and tired, he'll soon get into the swing of things :hugs:

She really is a bridezilla :haha: I'm trying to think of the money but its not even worth that much :dohh: Every penny counts though hey!

Hi ladies. Just a quick brag post here! LOL. Dillon says five words now! Not even 10 months old yet, but he says mama, dada, cat, dog, and ball. Although they sound like mama, dada, caaa, daaaaak, and baaaa. But we know what he means - because he says them at the appropriate times! So stinking cute.

lm - well done dillon!!!

sarah - :grr: to bridezilla!

katie - i know what you mean, my size 14s are big but i'm scared to try on 12s in case they are small. i did in dorothy perkins and they were small and i felt fat! my interview suit is a 12 from next but i used to be a 10 thete!

amy - glad you had a nice day today!

i assume danny came back last night but as i'm still in bed chilling with the kids here i dont know  funny how i wake with any little noise the kids make but not with the door going etc!!! that's bad actually as if we had a break in i'd sleep through it  i guess my body is in survival mode and clinging to every bit of sleep it can to get me through the night wakings!

today we have a kids party at 4-6.30 and then an engagement party at 7! my sister is going to look after the kids whilst we go. i really dont feel like going though and have nothing to wear :nope: it's one of danny's friends and i've not met him many times as he's a pilot and lives in uk! it's at his mum's house.

sarah i forgot to say that the ball pool is pop up so you can store it away when not in use

danny just woke up and had a strop at the noise the kids are making and went back to bed :grr: he doesnt appreciate how lucky he is to be in bed at 9.45! :growlmad: i on the other hand have been up for ages, given kids their breakfast, hung out a wash and put his uniform in the wash. in my opinion he should be sorting the kids today so i can prepare for the interview on monday but as usual i dont get a second thought :nope:

LM - wow!! thats super impressive Dillon !!!

maybe - rarrghhhhh I feel ANGRY for you!!!! why why WHY does Danny think parenting is a one woman job! I cant BELIEVE he never gets up and gives you a break :grr: :trouble: :growlmad: hope you have a nice time at the party if you go xx

I didnt get much sleep last night, Alex is so hard to put down now. I had to hold him on the boob for his nap this morning too. Normally I can put him down when he's asleep :dohh: we went swimming today, Alex hated his swimming ring thing so that was a waste of money (used it once :dohh:) but he liked splashing and playing in the water.

Hi all - I am so sorry for not being around much the past week I seem to have my head in the clouds and need a kick up the bum! This week is half term week so I dont think the baby clubs here are on but the following week I am going to contact some people andd go to some local groups! I have also decided to do tumble tots on a Monday and continue with Yoga on a Wednesday so that will keep us busy - does that sound enough stimulation for Amy?

Hope everyone is Ok - I will try and catch up properly!

Maybe can't believe Danny did that :growlmad:

Amy: glad Alex enjoyed swimming! Hope he settled better tonight :hugs:

Katie: go for the size 10

Sarah: sorry to hear about the bridezilla and good luck dealing with her :hugs: well done for fitting in size 10 :happydance:

Lm: you must be so proud :cloud9:
