Moms of April/May/June 2010 babies thread! :)

Frufru: lovely to hear from you hon :hugs: Well done to Joni for cutting the new toothypeg

Maybe: good luck with the latest application :hugs:

Sarah: It doesn't sound stupid hon :hugs: I am like this with my mother (which I feel sad about) but you should tell Steve how you feel. Relationships needs time and he should be giving up some of his relaxation time for time with you as a couple. Otherwise you will feel neglected and distance yourself as you have been doing :hugs: Sorry to hear about your so-called "bonus" :growlmad: You can at least leave them with no guilt whatsoever. I mean you work in a prominent position in a big bank, it sounds like they have totally stiffed you for going on mat leave :growlmad:

Emera: It sounds like you are also under appreciated by your job :( my thoughts are with your friend and I cannot imagine what she is going through

H&F: Hope you had fun!

Evening :hi:

Yay, day off with my lovely little man :happydance:

I think Roh is cutting a molar  He's really chewy, but is only interested in chewing his rings, and shoves them right to the back of his mouth, i had a feel (very painful for me he bites HARD!!) and there seems to be something spikey on the right bottom side near the back

I've been dipping in and out of this Chris Moyles longest radio show ever on the red button. Got to say a radio show makes great tv  Its quite fun to watch them starting to go slightly mad, now they've been on air for 40 hours i think. Men and sleep deprivation is always entertaining to watch :haha:

My friend got in touch with her parents. She was waiting for a flight to HongKong when she phoned them, she managed to get to Sendai, and then get a bus. Anyway, she can't get to the UK yet, she can only get the flight laid on by the foreign office, as she has no passport, no ID, no cash, bankcards, nothing! Her house was swept away, and where she was having her meeting, they all had to run up the hill nearby, and watched the conference centre collapse, so she didn't even have her handbag. The embassy staff have said she can get a new passport from the embassy in Hong Kong, and they will fly her back to the UK once thats sorted
Only downside is her husband is stuck in Japan, as he's in the same position, no ID, passport etc. and he's Japanese, not British, so he can't get on the flights that have been laid on. Apparently they managed to meet up for a couple of hours though, and he's now headed off on a train to stay with his brother, who is near Hiroshima, where his family are from. I can't imagine what Japan must be like at the moment, everyone in the north is so frightened. And to have lost all their possessions, and house, cars, etc, and also, they think they have lost about 50% of their friends and collegues :(

Ergh, sorry for the downer, just thought i'd update, i'll go back to laughing at Chris Moyles now :haha:

:hugs:

Emera wow a molar!! Oliver is very chewy at the moment too, maybe we're finally going to get another tooth to add to his lonely two :haha:

Its such a relief that your friend is okay, how heartbreaking that they have lost everything though! They are so lucky to be alive but I can only imagine ho awful it must be to have your entire life turned upside down like that, to loose everything and then to be seperated from your husband too  If her hubby can get a replacement passport will be be able to get to the UK? Its all just so heartbreaking, all those people lost and for those who made it to loose their homes, jobs, family, friends, everything. And now with the whole nuclear thing too  I made a donation to Save The Children the other day, I couldn't think of any other way to do anything and I know they are helping out over there, it made me feel slightly less guilty that I have everything I could wish for and all of a sudden these people have nothing  Thanks for updating, I know its silly because I don't know your friend but I keep thinking about her and her family :hugs:

I didn't know about the radio show, how many hours are they going for? I might put it on for a bit :haha:

Oh, and you SO should get a payrise!!!!! Shall we all write letters to your company saying how we bought cakes from them and they were AMAZING and just the best cakes we ever, ever tasted, and do they do mail order because we NEED to eat more, and that whoever baked them should get a payrise? :haha:

JannyWanny How are you? Jared is sooooo yummy!!

Modo Thankyou honey :hugs: How are you feeling?

Insomnimama I hope you find another job soon :hugs:

H&F I hope the meet went well! It is a shame you're not closer, I could have given you mates rates :haha: Did you sort your stationary?

FruFru Thankyou :hugs: I hope you had a fun day! Oliver's naps have been even worse the past few days though his night sleeping has been excellent :dohh: I really need to sort the naps / routine out though!

Maybe good luck for the job!!

I'm going to post this before my internet drops out and then I'll add some more :haha:

Yay, I managed to write a post and actually post it without the internet playing up :haha:

So, Steve is taking next week off afterall :happydance: He has to go in next Friday night and might need to do some work from home, but hopefully won't need to go in apart from Friday. He's also taken this Friday off since he's working next week, so tonight is his last shift :) We are hopefully going to get the garden done - or at least make a good start - and we're also going to have a night out, just a meal or something, which should be nice  I think you were all so right about having the odd night when we put the computers away. Steve normally starts playing poker while I'm putting Oliver to bed, and then when I come down I have to check my emails, deal with any enquies and paper work etc, so then we both just seem to stay online then. I think I'll suggest we have the odd no computer night and see how that goes.

Today was baby club, the opened the sensory room and it was great! After baby club we went for coffee and lunch with my two mummy friends which was nice. Tomorrow we have baby signing in the morning which I'm really looking forward to!

I hope everyone else had a great day!!

xx

sorry girls am just reading and running as feeling so ill :( feeling really sorry for myself. my mum came round and stayed all day to help me out and i just lay on the sofa. danny bathed the kids and i just made them something quick to eat. i hate feeling so ill and danny's gone out for a drink so i am going to make a lemsip and go to bed i think. :hugs: to you all and sorry for not posting individually.

Emera I am floored to hear about your friend- how stressful for them! I hope they do ok. :hugs:

sarah - a wheelie bin  excellent news on all the bookings, you must be SOOO proud of yourself  I know Kerry has a moan about me at work, I'm actually glad I dont know what he says though and I think we all need space to offload. I completely empathise with the closeness issue. I have the same problem. We are so focussed on redundancies and coping that we have forgotten each other. Kerry said he thinks nothing he does makes me happy and he feels he is getting nothing from "us" at the moment. I have realised we have been taking each other for granted. Could you plan a night away together? even a meal out - just the two of you? I think thats what Kerry and I need. Some together time away from all the everyday worries! :hugs: glad your haircut gave you a boost, I sooo need one for my lank locks :haha:I'm so annoyed for you with the bonus :grr: at least you can say sod you then to them :haha:

modo - how are you? are you back to work soon? did you hear whether they'll accept your reduction in hours? :hugs:

maybe - good luck with the job! :hugs: Danny is very naughty going out drinking when you are so ill, i know he helped with the children for once but a hungover man is not going to support you tomorrow. hope you get some sleep :flower:

emera - you definately deserve a payrise! x wow, your poor friend. The whole situation in Japan really puts my moanings about jobs etc into perspective. I just cannot imagine how awful it is for them all. After going through something like that I am sure all your friend wants to do is stay close to her husband and now he cant even leave Japan  thats terrible. Your friend is also often in my thoughts :hugs:

frufru - boo to the snots - yey for the tooth! how many does Joni have now? x

H&F - a little holiday sounds lovely  ditto what frufru said - you look fab in your fb pic with you and Amy in the carrier! :hugs:

insomnimama - that sounds like fun! the children transportation i mean :) I am also looking at a large paycut :( it is so depressing as I worked really hard to get to where I was :( hopefully something will crop us for us soon :hugs:

well i had a phone interview today for clinical trials administrator. It would be a 10 k paycut but there is scope for promotion. I feel a bit hopeless about it all at the moment. I have applied for so many jobs but hear nothing back and its kind of depressing. Alex was poorly again all night so lack of sleep isnt helping. I took yesterday off work to look after him and took him to the docs becasue of the cough but like Oliverwoo they didnt want to give Alex antibiotics. Kerry stayed off with him today, its the first time he;s ever been on with Alex and he loved it! I came home to a tidy house as well

Maybe - :hugs: hope you feel better soon :hugs:

Thanks ladies for the thoughts about my friend, i'm sure she'd really appriciate it :hugs: I still haven't spoken to her, her parents have been updating me, i've sent an email, i just think she's a bit busy for now to be chatting with friends. Its a real shame about her husband, he's gone to Hiroshima, as he thinks his brother might have some back up ID of his that he can then use to apply for a passport again. If not then there are several family members there that can vouch for him. Likely it will take a while, but he'll come to the UK too once everything is sorted. I think the prority was to get out of the north of Japan though to be honest. I've another friend who was teaching in Tokyo, she's decided to come home also, and arrived today. Eesh, what a situation :(

Sarah - The radio show is running for 52 hours they are hoping, then they break the world record, they've already raised over £1 million for comic relief doing it  They are starting to look a bit knackered by now :haha:

Amy - Fingers crossed for this job, even if its a paycut, its still something, and if there is room for promotion then thats a good thing  I really hope Alex is better soon :hugs: And good on Kerry for taking good care of him, and the house, i'm glad to hear he enjoyed it too :flower: OH loves his days with Roh, i think they have a blast together :)

Thanks emera, I feel like Alex has been poorly forever! How are your ears now? Hope they are on the mend. I am dreading Alex cutting molars as he is going through another bitey phase. I think he gets frustrated becasue my milk supply has dwindled going back to work (even though I express twice a day I only get 30 mls a go) so he bites my nips  he did it today and I can still feel the throbbing :haha: is roh grumpy when he teeths? x

haha, poor Chris Moyles!! I used to work night shifts and it was hell. You're right it is addictive watching x

Amy - My ears are, hmmm, improving, i think anyay, the spray i have is making them feel really weird though so its hard to know, i have to finish the spray on Sunday, so i guess i'll know then if its worked
Roh does get a bit grumpy when he teethes, yeah, he'll just be generally easier to upset, and he gets very very very bitey, and bites down sooo hard! Then he'll bite at stuff until he hurts himself :dohh: Saying that, with several of the teeth i've had no clue he's teething until i see it in his mouth
Hmm, Roh used to bite me loads when i was feeding once i was back at work, i used to just grit my teeth and let him bite in the hope that he'd start feeding, sometimes he did, but like you i couldn't express much, and i knew my supply was dropping. I was so sad to stop, but i'm really glad i did and if anything i feel now that i should have done it a bit sooner. He loves his bottles, and we have a nice cuddle whilst he has it. His nappies are always completely soaking, and actually i have to change him about 2 times more per day now, as he's weeing so much more than he was before we switched. I think he's totally forgotten about the whole thing now :( I was in the bath with him yesterday, and he was slapping at my chest giggling, almost like "hehe what are these?", it was cute, but made me feel a little sad. Maybe next time i won't have to go back to work quite so quickly.

I'm glad your ears are improving, fingers crossed for Sunday :hugs:

Its so crap that going back to work can have such an effect on supply :( Alex's nappies are a lot drier. My problems is he refuses bottles. I'm glad you still get snuggles with Roh :hugs:

better go, Alex is moaning x

morning all - typical just as i come on to post Alex wakes up :haha: hugs to you all, catch you all later x

Hi ladies!

I did soooo much ironing last night and then came on to catch up, wrote a whole long post and then the internet dropped out and I couldn't get back on, its doing it all the time at the moment and its driving me MAD! We're changing broadband suppliers soon so I hope that improves it.

Amy When do you find out how the telephone interview went? Although its a paycut, which is annoying, scope for promotion is always good!! WOW and  at you coming home to a tidy house, had Kerry and Alex been out for the day?!? :haha: If I leave Oliver with Steve for an hour the house looks like a tornado went through it :haha:

Emera thats so nice that your friends parents are keeping you updated. I hope Japan starts to get some better news soon, and that your friend and her husband won't be seperated for long :hugs: I can't imagine loosing everything like that, its so awful.

I watched a bit of the Chris Moyles thingy and they did look tired :haha:

We had baby signing this morning which was nice, though some of the mums were a bit annoying :haha: One of the mums, who we know from baby club, was sat next to me (on the floor) with her little girl who's about 5 months old. I have never had much o do with her at baby club as we don't really have any common ground, if you know what I mean. Anyway, so Oliver was crawling about all around me and she dropped her babies bottle, so Oliver reached out for it (as babies do) and she shouted out 'NO THATS NOT YOURS' really loud and snatched it away :saywhat: Now since Oliver has no idea what bottles are it wasn't like he was going to grab it and drink it, and it had a lid on anyway - and she dropped it! I raised my eyebrows at her and gave her quite a dirty look :haha: and Oliver - because he just isn't used to raised voices at all, burst into tears! I picked him up and gave him a hug and he was fine, but the entire group were giving the woman evils :haha: and for the rest of the session she was SO nice to Oliver . . . so i think by him crying she really felt bad. I was glad she felt bad :haha: To be honest, to me the worst thing was seeing how quickly some parents raise their voice to children - she must do it with her own if she would do it with other peoples babies. I think I sometimes think everyone else must parent like me and my little circle of friends and thats really not the case :( So I didn't really like the woman before, I now defintly don't like her :haha:

Its a lovely day here today, we were going to walk to the sorting office as I missed a delivery yesterday, but by the time we'd finished lunch I realised it was too late as the sorting office would be closed :dohh: It's the first day of Steve's holiday and guess where he is? Yep, Work. I understand that he has stuff to sort out, and he says that when this is done he won't need to go in until next Friday . . . . but FFS, why can't someone else do it?!?! And if he has to do stuff, why not just do his normal shift today and get it done and use his days holiday another time? Anyway, I'm refusing to let it bother me, so Oliver and I are going to do something fun

Sarah - Hope you and Oliver have some fun :) Grr, at Steve having to work, how rubbish :growlmad: hopefully its true that he won't have to go in again. :hugs:

Just had a lovely time with all the ladies and babies from my NCT group :)

Emera we're just playing, we bought 200 ball pool balls the other day so I put them all into the playpen, Oliver loves it :haha:

Might go for a little walk . . . . its so lovely outside!

I'm glad you had a good time with your NCT friends!
